The biological contact oxidation process is studied experimentlly by using a new type ZH filler.It was found that:(1)The rejection rate and rejection loadingof COD and BOD increase with the increase ofretention time:(2)There exists an optimal aeration flux which gives the highest COD rejection rate inbiological contact oxidation process,and pulsed aeration may further enhance the COD rejectionrate.(3 ) Multistage oxidation tower posesses higher efficivency than the one-stage tower and,therefore,it is recommended as the practical design of the biocontact oxidation process.
