In this paper the hydrochemical and isotopic characteristics of four formation water samples from DF1-1-1 and DF1-1-2 boreholes in the fault-depression center of Yinggehei Basin of South China Sea have been studied. Based on both the major ions and the trace elements analysis and isotope determination we have concluded that the formation water was originated from marine factes sedimantary water by metamorphism. It is situated in aclose environment isolated from the present cycle system in atomosphere. So it is judged that the geological environment is favorable for the generation of petroleum and gas.
