The astronomical theory of ice age,as the up to date solution for the global climaticchanges in the Quaternary period, has been accepted by the most of the scientists in theworld. Whowever, there are still some problems to need further research. The author putforward three questions like as follows in this paper:The astronomical theory of ice age suggested that the ice age occured when the eccentri-city of the orbit of the earth was at its high value, But the comparison between the oxygenisotope curves from deep sea cores and the eccentricity change curve shows that the iee agescorrespond just with the low value of the eccentricity curve. So it seems to say that the ice ageoccured not in high but in low eccentricity periods. We can infer that if the semi-major axisof the orbit is a constant like it has been suggested by some scientists when the eccentricitychanges, such fact that the ice age correspond with the low eccentricity will be able to be ac-cepted. Because in this case the mean sun-earch distance in a year becomes long and theinsolation on the earth decreases.Which was the key element for glaciation evolution after all, summer insolation or winterinsolation? This is a very important question which was disputed over different viewpoints, although the viewpoint proposed by Milankovitch,Copen et al that the summer insolation isthe decisive factor occupied the dominant position.Glaciation between Northern hemispher and southern hemispher were synchronous, which has been proved with many facts including glaciation terminations in the twohimisphers.Such situation went against the precession principle and needs further research, although some hypotheses like CO_2 change hypothesis and so on have been proposed.
