别集是古代文学史料的支柱。别集有许多异称 ,别集具体的取名方式多种多样。别集起源于西汉 ,东汉至清代不断发展 ,各个朝代都有所建树 ,清代是集大成时期。别集可分为全集和选集两类。别集的编辑 。
Personal collections, which are named variously either by the authors themselves or somebody else and which are a rich source of literary materials, originated from the Western Han Dynasty and underwent continuous development from the Eastern Han Dynasty until the Qing Dynasty. Personal collections compiled in each dynasty have characteristics of their own, and the best and most comprehensive ones were compiled in the Qing Dynasty. Personal collections can be categorized into complete ones and selected ones which are compiled according to different criteria such as genres and the time the works were written.
