20多年来,台湾农业作为国民经济的基础性产业始终保持稳定增产的势头,在为社会经济发展作出贡献的同时实现了农业自身的现代化。其发展过程具备以下特色:以发展农业、建设农村与照顾农民为其实施目标,由早期的追求粮食增产阶段转变到今日的追求"生产"、"生活"、"生态"均衡发展的现代化农业阶段。
