摘要
本文综述了分数几何(Fractal geometry)在林学和生态学上的应用:包括对林木冠层结构特征的描述;对群落格局、同质性的判定;对景观格局和过程的分析;对森林生长、演替等动态过程的分析等,并指出分数几何作为新兴的基础理论将成为林学和生态学研究中的有效手段之一。
The conception of fractal geometry formed in late 1970s is a new theoryof geometry, used to describe the morphological traits of substance of non-inte-gral dimension, playing an important role in revealing the morphological structureof natural substances and the dynamic process of natural phenomena. Now the the-ory of fractal geometry has been widely applied to forestry. Results of present ap-plied researches show that such a theory is of much use to interpretation of treebody and crown structure, pattern of community distribution, pattern and pro-cess of landscape, analysis of forest dynamic process, and characteristics of standcomposition, and the effect of landscape pattern on wildlife distribution, and theanalysis of dynamic process of the growth and succession of microbes and trees. Atthe same time, it provides new concept and method to descibe the morphologicalstructure of tree crown and forest landscape. It also plays an important role in re-searches on forest tree growth, stand structure, and systemical dynamics. It is aneffective tool in forest researches.
