摘要
本文介绍全球热带亚热带地区低洼渍水地的分布状况,认为这些低洼渍水地开发利用,对发展农业、解决当地粮食,提高经济效益、改善生态环境具有重要意义。
At present, most of the undeveloped natural resources in the world are mainly distributed in tropical and subtropical zones, one of which is low-lying land resources. The total amount of tropical and subtropical low-lying land is estimated about 2 million km^2 and about 60% of that are distributed in three regions: the three islands of Indonesia in Southeast Asia (500 000 km^2), Sudan, Zaire and Chad Lake Area in Africa (500 000 km^2) and Colombia in South America (200 000 km^2). Crops can grow all the year round with high temperature in tropical and subtropical zones, and the low-lying land there can be developed and produce a large quantity of foods to feed a great number of people. Meanwhile, the changes from waste low-lying land into fertile farmland will help to improve the ecological environment. Development conditions of the low-lying land in Central and South America and in Vietnam, Thailand, Burma, India and South China are the best, and those in Sudan and Mozambique in Africa are also good.
