摘要
本文研究高双折射偏振保持光纤受外界横向压力扰动作用下的偏振模传输特性。对应于由外界压力扰动而引起的高双折射光纤中的模式耦合,给出了光纤中传导模之间的耦合功率关系式。理论研究和实验结果表明:在横向压力扰动作用下,高双折射光纤中传导模的耦合特性与扰动力的大小、扰动力与光纤双折射主轴的夹角、光纤的受扰区域以及受扰光纤的双折射参数有关。这种特性可应用于光纤传感技术中。
The Propagation characteristics of the polarized modes in high-birefringent polarization-maintaining fiber under the influence of external transverse compression disturbance have been studied. The expression of coupling power between two porpagation modes in the fiber is derived under the consideration of the disturbance due to external transverse compression. Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the mode coupling caused by transverse compression disturbance is related to the magnitude of external compression, the angle between the compression applied and the birefringent principal axis of high-birefringent fiber, the distored region of the fiber and the birefringence parameter of the fiber. This characteristic can be used in fiber sensing technique.
