Characteristics of Coating Water Retention Agents and their Effects on the Properties of Coated Paper

摘要 研究了纸张涂料保水剂———聚甘糖衍生物 (简称GPE)和羧甲基纤维素 (CMC)对涂料粘度、保水性、流变性及其涂布纸板性能的影响。研究结果表明 ,尽管GPE用量仅为CMC的 1 / 1 0 (质量分数 ) ,但添加GPE较添加CMC制得的涂布纸板在涂布量相同或略低的情况下 ,其涂布纸的白度增加、表面粗糙度下降、适印性提高 ,其原因并非是GPE提高了涂料的保水性 ,而是改善了涂料在高剪切力作用下的触变性。 Two kinds of coating water retention agent , galactomannan phosphoric ester (GPE) and CMC, were studied in this paper. Their effects on the viscosity, water retention, rheology behavior of the coating and the properties of the coated paper were studied. The results showed that the brightness, smoothness and printability of the coated paper with the coating containing GPE was better than that of the coated paper with the coating containing CMC although the dosage of GPE was 1/10 of CMC (wt%) in the coating and the coating weight was the same or even slightly lower of the former. The reason was not attributed to the increased water retention ability of the coating by adding GPE, but to its improved thixotrogy of coating under high shear conditions.
