摘要
在大学英语的教学和考试中 ,阅读理解能力的培养和考核是众中之重 ,不容忽视。本文首先引述有关阅读理论对阅读测试的启示 ,然后对一份全校使用的 6级试卷进行统计分析 ,通过与理论标准的对照 ,调查宁夏非英语专业研究生的阅读能力状况 ,试图从中了解学生的进步与差距 ,以利于教学质量的提高。
To investigate the reading ability of the non-English majors—postgraduates in Ningxia University, one sample is tested and results are analyzed with reference to modern reading theory and associated testing criteria. Our sample consists of 36 postgraduates who are all non-English majors. A statistical review of the score characteristics from the test is followed by discussion of aspects such as normal distribution, central tendency, dispersion, inter-correlation between reading score and total score, content coverance and reading skills tested, with a view to bringing strengths and weaknesses of the reading ability of the subjects to the attention of English language teachers, so that corresponding measures can be adopted to improve teaching quality.
