M steel is a kind of super pure high strength structure steel used for aviation forgings, whose the testing of the grain size can not be evaluated by the conventional corrosion method. This article has described the optimized corrosion method for the testing of grain size of 300M steel by means of the experiment of the relationship between brittle conversion temperature and corrosion definition of the grain size, the analysis of micro fracture profile as well as a serious of testing analysis of the corrosion liquid preparation and time selection.
