摘要
翻译学是一门年轻的学科,需要吸收其它相关学科的研究成果及其理论以发展和构建自己学科的研究方法。语言学一向与翻译研究关系密切,当代语言学,尤其是语篇语言学,更有可能为翻译研究提供理论依据和研究模式,因为当代语言学不再限定于研究语言本身,而是把视野扩大到语境和语言的交际功能。本文概述了语篇语言学概念,比较它与传统语言学的异同,讨论了该研究模式的研究范围、研究重点以及研究方法。
Translation is a new discipline which needs to draw on the findings and theories of other related disciplines in order to develop and formalize its own methods. It is widely accepted that linguistics has a great deal to offer to the budding discipline of translation studies as it is a discipline which studies language both in its own right and as a tool for generating meanings. This is particularly true of modern linguistics, which no longer restricts itself to the study of language as a system of structures, but rather relates to the world around and to other disciplines as well as to the communicative function of language. In this paper, the concept of text linguistics is reviewed, the similarities and differences between traditional linguistics and text linguistics are briefly examined, and research areas and theories relevant to translation studies as well as research methods are then discussed.
