A differential model for molecular weight distribution (MWD) is presented by using generating functions. An experimental study of thermal bulk polymerization of styrene with 5~25% ethylbenzene in temperature range of 100~170℃ and conversion range of 0~95% is carried out. Conversion, molecular weight distributions are measured. The model parameters are regressed from the experimental data, and are corrected with the conversions. The calculation indicates that the model agrees with experimental data.
