摘要
巴基斯坦人口状况令人担忧 ,经济发展和社会进步深受其害。巴人口状况呈现出以下几个特点 :居高不下的人口增长率、庞大的贫困人口、低下的人口素质、扭曲的城市化进程。虽然现在巴政府做出了新的努力 ,但考虑到巴国内的现实 ,短时间内人口问题将很难解决 ,前景不容乐观。
The article is an attempt to detect the worrisome situation of population in Pakistan, which is considered as an increasingly formidable burden for the nation's economic development and social progress. The features of Pakistani demography are indicated as excessive increase rate of population, huge number of poverty-stricken people, lowering quality of population, and distorted urbanization. The distressing reality seems hard to be improved in the near future despite some measures implemented by the government.
