Objective: To investigate the clinical effects of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differ classification on systemic inflammatory response syndrome(SIRS).Methods: Fiftysix cases were randomly divided into treatment group (33 cases) and control group(23 cases). Treatment group was treated with (traditional) Chinese herbs and routine western medicine treatment, and it was divided into two kinds of type by (syndrome) differ classification, pathogens at the Qiphase and Qipathogens conflicting type(邪在气分, 邪正相搏型), pathogens at Qiphase and Yingphase, deficienty of healthy energy and evil invading type(邪在气营,正虚邪恋型),and they were treated with Baihu decoction (白虎汤) and Qingying decoction(清营汤) (respectively). The control group was only treated with conventional therapy. The curative effect was (compared) (between) two groups. Results: Clinical symptoms were improved significantly in treated group than those in the control group. The respiratory rate, heart rate, white blood cell counts in the two groups after (7day) (treatment) were decreased significantly compared with those before treatment (all P<0.05). The recovery times of temperature, respiratory rate, heart rate and white blood cell counts were shorter than those of (control) (group)(all P>0.05). The cases of multiple organ dysfunction syndrome were less in treatment group than that of control group. Conclusion: Traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differ classification and typing treatment has a good effect on SIRS.
