The Chinese State Counsellor and Conference Chairman Song Jian said in his speech that the conference was an unprecedented grand gethering. The success of the conference symbolized the unity, cooperation and coordina- ted action among the developing countries in the field of environment and development.'Beijing Declaration' pas- sed at the conference reflected the deep understanding and concern of the developing world for the global environ- ment and development. The Declaration, cemented with the wisdom and creation of all participants, was a great historial document which would produce a great impetus to solve global environmental problems and realize the sustained development.
