他少年时立志用科学拯救中华,青年时远涉重洋,寻救科学真理;归国后致力于科学在他的祖国生根,在科学和教育园地辛勤耕耘,培育了众多科学精英,开创了科学基业;为着民族的解放,他舍生忘死,投身抗战救国。他一生不求名利,惟有奉献。然而,历史在他身上表现得如此“公正”:他年愈古稀,却惨遭凌辱,备受折磨,含冤去世,而且身后数年,九泉之下,也未能洗清所蒙受的不白之冤。今天,沉冤终于得到昭雪,蒙在他英名上的灰尘已经被掸除,我们终于可以在此忠实地记下他一生的贡献与不幸。
Ye Qisun (1898—1977) was an eminent scientist, educator and historian of science and technology of China. He was determined to save China using science ever since his boyhood. He studied science abroad and, after his return, engaged himself in developing science in China. He taught diligently, brought Up many talented scientists and contributed to laying a foundation of science in China. Ye didn't hanker for personal fanre and gains and was devoted to his career. However, due to political reasons, he suffered a lot when he was in his seventies and eventually died uncleared of false charges.This article gives a faithful record of Ye's contribution and misfortune on the basis of a systematic study of his life.
