This article is to introduce five silver wares with foreign scripts,of which there are two Sogdian silver bowls, one Persian silver bowl and two Bactrian silver dishes. They were unearthed in Xi'an of Shaanxi, Qarashahri of Xinjiang,Datong of Shanxi and Jingyuan of Gansu. The Sogdian and Pahlavi inscriptions were deciphered by British scholar Dr. N. Sims-Williams,one Bactrian inscription by W. Sundermann and another by the author of this paper, respectively. The inscriptions of the two Sogdian silver bowls provide the evidences for studying the prevalence of Zoroasterism and Zurvanism in China;the two Bactrian dishes provide important specimens for our recognizing Bactrian antiques from the reign of the Ephthalites in Central Asia.
