摘要
自我实现预言理论是关于社会和个人行为的理论,得到了西方学术界的普遍认同,并广泛为公众所知悉和应用。但是从该理论出发,通过严格的逻辑推导,却能得到有关理论的悖论,且从科学哲学的角度来看,其证实逻辑亦存在不合理性。事实上,这一理论流行的原因在于其"实用性"而非其科学性。而该理论也有其危害作用,为此必须采取一些措施以停止理论上之危机。
Merton's theory of self - fulfilling prophecy is about the social and personal behavior. It is not only accepted by the western academic circles, but is also well known among the public. Nevertheless, this paper expresses a somewhat different opinion: Setting out from the theory and through a strict deduction, we find a paradox hidden in Merton's theory. Meanwhile, we conclude, from a socio - philosophical angle, that the theory is unreasonable. In fact, the reason for the theory's popularity is its practical quality rather than its scientific quality. Finally, this paper points out the harm by analyzing the pros and cons of the theory, and also gives some suggestions to stop this theoretical crisis.
