摘要
诺斯若普·弗莱不只是一个有着结构主义倾向的原型批评理论家 ,而且在最广义的文化语境下是一个文化批评家。本文详细分析了弗莱文化批评观的形成和特点 ,认为在 2 0世纪中期掀起的文化研究热潮中 ,弗莱在某种程度上起着一定的先驱作用。虽然他不隶属于任何理论派别 ,但他的文化批评思想却不容忽视 ,因为这些颇有洞见的观点预示了当代文化研究中坚持以文学为本的文学的文化批评方向。
The essay proposes, from a Chinese perspective, that the Canadian literary theorist Northrop Frye was not only an archetypal theorist of structural orientation, but, in a broader cultural context, also a cultural critic. The essay points out the way in which Frye was influenced by the anthropologist Frazer and the German historian Spingler .Besides , the essay also demonstrates the major features of Frye's cultural theory . It concludes that Frye's theory, as a pioneering mode of contemporary cultural study and cultural criticism, anticipate the development of cultural poetics and provides a model for future literary studies.
