摘要
《老人与海》作为海明威最好的作品 ,其主人公圣地亚哥向来被认为是所有海明威式英雄中最完美的一个 ,集硬汉子精神和谦卑温情于一身 ,是积极的、充满希望的新形象。然而 ,随着对海明威本人心路历程及其作品的深入了解 ,人们越来越多地关注精神不败的圣地亚哥在现实社会中的命运 ,其消极感伤的一面已如水下冰山逐渐浮出水面。本文撇开老人与大马林鱼长达三天的斗智斗勇 ,旨在从老人破败的船帆。
Santiago is always considered as a perfect ″code hero″ ever created by Hemingway. It is also widely accepted that Santiago is a new and hopeful image with his ″guts″ and humanity. However, with more and more acknowledgement about Hemingway's life and his negative values,some ice- burgs in his writings have come to be recognized from new points. This paper is aimed at revealing Santiago's doomed fate in the reality, based on Santiago 's patched sail 、absolute isolation and his self to self talk.
