Critics have paid constant attention to the passion and hatred between the hero and heroine in Wuthering Heights . In this paper, the author gives an analysis of the transformation of the hero′s identity as a foundling and the split between the hero and the heroine, thus revealing Emily Bronte′s own idea of self identity. The paper concludes that it is man′s inevitable fate to be identified with the larger world of society.
