Novels in the Tang Dynasty, just like poems, were characterized by a qualitative leap both in form and content. They constituted an exotic flower in the cultural circle at that time. Buddhism telepathy novels in Tang Dynasty were different from the books interpreting assistant religions in Liu Dynasty. They showed great development in both scale and type, and broke through the 'small book' form of 'fragmented serials discourse' in Liu Dynasty. This paper analyzes the content and writing skills of this kind of novels as well as the reasons for their formation. Moreover, the author accounts for the use of subject matters of Buddhism stories by employing plenty of substantial data, thus further testifying that the integration of the Indian and Chinese cultures promoted the development of novel creation.
