Although a broker plays an important role in e-marketplaces, theory and guidelines for matching between buyers and sellers in multi-attribute exchanges are limited. Therefore, a challenge for a broker's responsibility is how to maximize a buyer's total satisfaction degree as its goals under the consideration of trade-off between a buyer's buying quantity and price paid to a seller, and other attributes. To solve this challenge, this paper proposes an economic model-based matching approach between a buyer's requirements and a seller's offers. The major contributions of this paper are that (i) a broker can model a seller's price policy as per a buyer's buying quantity through communication between a broker and a seller; (ii) due to each buyer's different quantity demand, a broker models a buyer's satisfaction degree as per a buyer's buying quantity based on communication between a broker and a buyer; and (iii) to carry out a broker's matching processes, an objective function and a set of constraints are generated to help a broker to maximize a buyer's total satisfaction degree. Experimental results demonstrate the good performance of the proposed approach.展开更多

This research develops a framework to explore the relationships among organizational integration practices, manufacturing flexibility, and competitive advantage. The study develops valid and reliable instruments to measure these constructs, and it applies structural equation modeling to test relationships among these variables using a large sample. The results indicate strong, positive, and direct relationships between organizational integration practices and manufacturing flexibility, and between manufacturing flexibility and competitive advantage. The results also indicate that organizational integration practices enhance competitive advantage directly as well as indirectly by facilitating manufacturing flexibility.展开更多

The services sector employs a large and growing proportion of workers in the industrialized nations, and it is increasingly dependent on information and communication technologies. While the interdependences, similari...The services sector employs a large and growing proportion of workers in the industrialized nations, and it is increasingly dependent on information and communication technologies. While the interdependences, similarities and complementarities of manufacturing and services are significant, there are considerable differences between goods and services, including the shift in focus from mass production to mass customization (whereby a service is produced and delivered in response to a customer's stated or imputed needs). In general, services can be considered to be knowledge-intensive agents or components which work together as providers and consumers to create or co-produce value. Like manufacturing systems, an efficient service system must be an integrated system of systems, leading to greater connectivity and interdependence. Integration must occur over the physical, temporal, organizational and functional dimensions, and must include methods concerned with the component, the management, and the system. Moreover, an effective service system must also be an adaptable system, leading to greater value and responsiveness. Adaptation must occur over the dimensions of monitoring, feedback, cybernetics and learning, and must include methods concerned with space, time, and system. In sum, service systems are indeed complex, especially due to the uncertainties associated with the human-centered aspects of such systems. Moreover, the system complexities can only be dealt with methods that enhance system integration and adaptation. The paper concludes with several insights, including a plea to shift the current misplaced focus on developing a science or discipline for services to further developing a systems engineering approach to services, an approach based on the integration and adaptation of a host of sciences or disciplines (e.g., physics, mathematics, statistics, psychology, sociology, etc.). In fact, what is required is a services-related transdisciplinary - beyond a single disciplinary - ontology or taxonomy as a basis for disciplinary integration and adaptation.展开更多

For a product characterized by a single manufacturing cycle and two selling periods, we depict a Two-Stage (TS) ordering strategy with a stochastic dynamic programming model in the view of the whole system, and prove that the expected profit function of the whole system is concave on the first ordering quantity and the remedial ordering quantity, respectively. Then, the optimal ordering decision is developed. Finally, characteristics of the optimal ordering quantities are analyzed with several examples. Our results show that the suggested TS decision model is better than a Quick Response (QR) decision model.展开更多
The controlling and synchronizing chaotic systems(CSs)are crucial aspects of engineering,with broad applications across various applied sciences,such as secure communications,nonlinear circuit design,biomedical engine...The controlling and synchronizing chaotic systems(CSs)are crucial aspects of engineering,with broad applications across various applied sciences,such as secure communications,nonlinear circuit design,biomedical engineering,and image processing.This paper deals with the complex problem of achieving finite-time projective synchronization for uncertain CSs with incommensurate non-integer orders using adaptive fuzzy sliding-mode control(AFSMC).Specifically,we focus on practical projective synchronization,introducing two novel control approaches that effectively mitigate the chattering phenomenon,a common issue in conventional sliding mode control.To achieve this,two innovative non-singular sliding surfaces with finite-time properties are formulated.This type of sliding surface enhances projective synchronization accuracy,response speed,and robustness.The adaptive fuzzy logic systems,known for their universal approximation capability,are employed to estimate continuous functional uncertainties.We rigorously analyzed the stability of both approaches using Lyapunov’s direct method.Extensive simulations confirm the effectiveness and benefits of our proposed methods.These methods significantly reduce or eliminate chattering and achieve practical projective synchronization in a finite time.This makes them well-suited for real-world applications in complex CSs.展开更多
While coupons that can be redeemed only in online channels have been issued by e-commerce platforms for decades, a new type of platform’s coupons, i.e., omnichannel coupons, which can be redeemed in both online and s...While coupons that can be redeemed only in online channels have been issued by e-commerce platforms for decades, a new type of platform’s coupons, i.e., omnichannel coupons, which can be redeemed in both online and store channels, is gaining popularity with the rise of the omnichannel retail mode. It is interesting to explore the conditions under which omnichannel coupons are more advantageous to platforms and multichannel suppliers that sell products through platforms and physical stores. Two game models are developed in two cases where an e-commerce platform offers single channel coupons or omnichannel coupons for a multichannel supplier. Two scenarios are considered: one in which a consumer’s valuation of a product that fits his or her need is homogeneous and another in which the valuation is heterogeneous. Equilibrium outcomes show that under the homogeneous scenario, the product price and coupon face value in both coupon modes increase with the product’s fit probability when the cross-selling revenue is high, while decrease with the product’s fit probability when the cross-selling revenue is low. However, under the heterogeneous scenario, the price in both modes increases with the product’s fit probability only when the supplier’s loss from returns is low and the cross-selling revenue is high, and the coupon face value always decreases with the product’s fit probability. Compared with single channel coupons, omnichannel coupons may lead to a higher product price under certain conditions. Furthermore, omnichannel coupons can lead to higher total demand and benefit both the platform and the supplier if and only if the product’s fit probability is low and the supplier’s loss from returns is high. Rational drug use requires that patients receive medications for an adequate period of time.The adequate duration time of medications not only improve the therapeutic effect of medicines,but also reduce the side effec...Rational drug use requires that patients receive medications for an adequate period of time.The adequate duration time of medications not only improve the therapeutic effect of medicines,but also reduce the side effects and adverse reactions of medicines.This paper proposes a data-driven method to mine typical treatment duration patterns for rational drug use from electronic medical records (EMRs).Firstly,a quintuple is defined to describe drug use duration statistics (DUDS) for each drug and treatment record is further represented with DUDS vector (DUDSV).Next a similarity measure method is adopted to compute the similarity between treatment records.Meanwhile,a clustering algorithm is used to cluster all patient treatment records to extract typical treatment duration patterns including typical drug sets,effective drug use day sets,and the DUDSs of each typical drug.Then the extracted typical treatment duration patterns are evaluated and annotated based on patients' demographic information,disease severity scores,treatment outcome and diagnostic information.Finally,a real-world EMR dataset is performed to indicate that the approach we proposed can effectively mine typical treatment duration patterns from EMRs and recommend the appropriate treatment regimens for patients based on their admission information.展开更多
Tracking mobile nodes in dynamic and noisy conditions of industrial environments has provided a paradigm for many issues inherent in the area of distributed control systems in general and wireless sensor networks in p...Tracking mobile nodes in dynamic and noisy conditions of industrial environments has provided a paradigm for many issues inherent in the area of distributed control systems in general and wireless sensor networks in particular. Due to the dynamic nature of the industrial environments, a practical tracking system is required that is adaptable to the changes in the environment. More specifically, given the limited resources of wireless nodes and the challenges created by harsh industrial environments there is a need for a technique that can modify the configuration of the system on the fly as new wireless nodes are added to the network and obsolete ones are removed. To address these issues, two cluster-based tracking systems, one static and the other dynamic, are proposed to organize the overall network field into a set of tracking zones, each composed of a sink node and a set of corresponding anchor nodes. To manage the wireless nodes activities and inter and intra cluster communications, an agent-based technique is employed. To compare the architectures, we report on a set of experiments performed in JADE (Java Agent Development Environment). In these experiments, we compare two agent-based approaches (dynamic and static) for managing clusters of wireless sensor nodes in a distributed tracking system. The experimental results corroborate the efficiency of the static clusters versus the robustness and effectiveness of the dynamic clusters.展开更多

Existing studies have analyzed the vulnerability of interdependent networks to cascading failures from the static...Critical infrastructures are becoming increasingly interdependent and vulnerable to cascading failures. Existing studies have analyzed the vulnerability of interdependent networks to cascading failures from the static perspective of network topology structure. This paper develops a more realistic cascading failures model that considers the dynamic redistribution of load in power network to explore the vulnerability of interdependent power-water networks. In this model, the critical tolerance threshold is originally proposed to indicate the vulnerability of network to cascading failures. In addition, some key parameters that are important to network vulnerability are identified and quantified through numerical simulation. Results show that cascading failures can be prevented when the values of tolerance parameter are above a critical tolerance threshold. Otherwise interdependent networks collapse after attacking a critical fraction of power nodes. Interdependent networks become more vulnerable with the increase in interdependence strength, which implies the importance of protecting those interconnected nodes to reduce the consequences of cascading failures. Interdependent networks are most vulnerable under high-load attack, which shows the significance of protecting high-load nodes.展开更多

Firstly, a degree of similarity formula between GITFNs is presented. Secondly, expert preference information on different alternatives is clustered into several aggregations via the fuzzy clustering method. As the clustering proceeds, an index of group preference consistency is introduced to ensure the clustering effect, and then the group preference information on different alternatives is obtained. Thirdly, the TOPSIS method is used to rank the alternatives. Finally, an example is taken to show the feasibility and effectiveness of this approach. These method can ensure the consistency degree of group preference, thus decision efficiency of emergency response activities can be improved.展开更多

Finally, a simulation example is presented to validate the models. While a considerable body of rese...Since collaborative, planning, forecasting, and replenishment (CPFR) was first proposed in 1998, numerous studies have focused on exploring its implementation in retailing contexts. While a considerable body of research has emphasized reduced costs, increased sales and improved forecasting ability, there has been a lack of research on the importance of each of the various factors which affect such implementations. In order to find out the critical success factors affecting CPFR implementation, this paper first collected related influence factors regarding adopting CPFR or business to business (B2B) information systems, and further constructed a factor table with a three-layer hierarchical structure. A pair wise analytic hierarchy process (AHP) questionnaire was designed and distributed to experts who were familiar with implementing CPFR in the retailing industry. After questionnaires were returned, we found out the weights of each impact factor by using a fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (fuzzy AHP) approach. The importance of each critical impact factor was investigated, and the paths of the critical success factors were also analyzed. The results of this study can provide more precise information with regard to allocating optimal resources for retailers implementing CPFR.展开更多

There are two main issues of fuzzy multi-attribute decision-making:determine the weight of each attribute and choose an appropriate aggregation method to integrate the evaluation information of different attributes.In...There are two main issues of fuzzy multi-attribute decision-making:determine the weight of each attribute and choose an appropriate aggregation method to integrate the evaluation information of different attributes.In order to solve the multi-attribute decision-making problem in generalized orthopair fuzzy environment with unknown attribute weights more effectively,we give a decision-making method based on generalized orthopair fuzzy definite integrals.To be specific,we first introduce the complement operations of q-rung orthopair fuzzy numbers,and then investigate the multiplicative q-rung orthopair fuzzy calculus.Through the complement operations,we establish the mutual conversion formula between additive and multiplicative q-rung orthopair fuzzy calculus theory.Then,we give a multiplicative integral-based q-rung orthopair fuzzy multi-attribute decision-making method,and discuss the relationship between the q-rung orthopair fuzzy definite integrals and the q-rung orthopair fuzzy weighted geometric operator.Compared with traditional decision-making methods,this method does not rely on subjective weight information,which is especially important when dealing with large sample data.Finally,the application of election is studied to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.With the introduction of generalized orthopair fuzzy sets,the expression form of election evaluation information has been expanded.We also provide some examples to compare the obtained results with the results generated by the addition operation and reveal the correlation between them.展开更多

文摘Rational drug use requires that patients receive medications for an adequate period of time.The adequate duration time of medications not only improve the therapeutic effect of medicines,but also reduce the side effects and adverse reactions of medicines.This paper proposes a data-driven method to mine typical treatment duration patterns for rational drug use from electronic medical records (EMRs).Firstly,a quintuple is defined to describe drug use duration statistics (DUDS) for each drug and treatment record is further represented with DUDS vector (DUDSV).Next a similarity measure method is adopted to compute the similarity between treatment records.Meanwhile,a clustering algorithm is used to cluster all patient treatment records to extract typical treatment duration patterns including typical drug sets,effective drug use day sets,and the DUDSs of each typical drug.Then the extracted typical treatment duration patterns are evaluated and annotated based on patients' demographic information,disease severity scores,treatment outcome and diagnostic information.Finally,a real-world EMR dataset is performed to indicate that the approach we proposed can effectively mine typical treatment duration patterns from EMRs and recommend the appropriate treatment regimens for patients based on their admission information.
文摘Tracking mobile nodes in dynamic and noisy conditions of industrial environments has provided a paradigm for many issues inherent in the area of distributed control systems in general and wireless sensor networks in particular. Due to the dynamic nature of the industrial environments, a practical tracking system is required that is adaptable to the changes in the environment. More specifically, given the limited resources of wireless nodes and the challenges created by harsh industrial environments there is a need for a technique that can modify the configuration of the system on the fly as new wireless nodes are added to the network and obsolete ones are removed. To address these issues, two cluster-based tracking systems, one static and the other dynamic, are proposed to organize the overall network field into a set of tracking zones, each composed of a sink node and a set of corresponding anchor nodes. To manage the wireless nodes activities and inter and intra cluster communications, an agent-based technique is employed. To compare the architectures, we report on a set of experiments performed in JADE (Java Agent Development Environment). In these experiments, we compare two agent-based approaches (dynamic and static) for managing clusters of wireless sensor nodes in a distributed tracking system. The experimental results corroborate the efficiency of the static clusters versus the robustness and effectiveness of the dynamic clusters.

文摘Critical infrastructures are becoming increasingly interdependent and vulnerable to cascading failures. Existing studies have analyzed the vulnerability of interdependent networks to cascading failures from the static perspective of network topology structure. This paper develops a more realistic cascading failures model that considers the dynamic redistribution of load in power network to explore the vulnerability of interdependent power-water networks. In this model, the critical tolerance threshold is originally proposed to indicate the vulnerability of network to cascading failures. In addition, some key parameters that are important to network vulnerability are identified and quantified through numerical simulation. Results show that cascading failures can be prevented when the values of tolerance parameter are above a critical tolerance threshold. Otherwise interdependent networks collapse after attacking a critical fraction of power nodes. Interdependent networks become more vulnerable with the increase in interdependence strength, which implies the importance of protecting those interconnected nodes to reduce the consequences of cascading failures. Interdependent networks are most vulnerable under high-load attack, which shows the significance of protecting high-load nodes.

文摘In this paper, a new decision making approach is proposed for the multi-attribute large group emergency decision-making problem that attribute weights are unknown and expert preference information is expressed by generalized interval-valued trapezoidal fuzzy numbers (GITFNs). Firstly, a degree of similarity formula between GITFNs is presented. Secondly, expert preference information on different alternatives is clustered into several aggregations via the fuzzy clustering method. As the clustering proceeds, an index of group preference consistency is introduced to ensure the clustering effect, and then the group preference information on different alternatives is obtained. Thirdly, the TOPSIS method is used to rank the alternatives. Finally, an example is taken to show the feasibility and effectiveness of this approach. These method can ensure the consistency degree of group preference, thus decision efficiency of emergency response activities can be improved.

文摘The problem of measuring conflict in large-group decision making is examined with every decision preference expressed by multiple interval intuitionistic trapezoidal fuzzy numbers (IITFNs). First, a distance measurement between two IITFNs is given and a function of conflict between two members of the large group is proposed. Second, members of the large group are clustered. A measurement model of group conflict, which is applied to aggregating large-group preferences, is then proposed by employing the conflict measure of clusters. Finally, a simulation example is presented to validate the models. These models can deal with the preference analysis and coordination of a large-group decision, and are thus applicable to emergency group decision making.

文摘Since collaborative, planning, forecasting, and replenishment (CPFR) was first proposed in 1998, numerous studies have focused on exploring its implementation in retailing contexts. While a considerable body of research has emphasized reduced costs, increased sales and improved forecasting ability, there has been a lack of research on the importance of each of the various factors which affect such implementations. In order to find out the critical success factors affecting CPFR implementation, this paper first collected related influence factors regarding adopting CPFR or business to business (B2B) information systems, and further constructed a factor table with a three-layer hierarchical structure. A pair wise analytic hierarchy process (AHP) questionnaire was designed and distributed to experts who were familiar with implementing CPFR in the retailing industry. After questionnaires were returned, we found out the weights of each impact factor by using a fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (fuzzy AHP) approach. The importance of each critical impact factor was investigated, and the paths of the critical success factors were also analyzed. The results of this study can provide more precise information with regard to allocating optimal resources for retailers implementing CPFR.

文摘Sand and gravel are important raw materials which are needed for many civil engineering projects. Due to economic reasons, sand and gravel pits are frequently located in the periphery of metropolitan areas which are often subject to competing land-use interests. As a contribution to land-use conflict solving, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is applied within a Geographic Information System (GIS) environment. Two AHP preference matrix scenario constellations are evaluated and their results are used to create a land-use conflict map.

文摘There are two main issues of fuzzy multi-attribute decision-making:determine the weight of each attribute and choose an appropriate aggregation method to integrate the evaluation information of different attributes.In order to solve the multi-attribute decision-making problem in generalized orthopair fuzzy environment with unknown attribute weights more effectively,we give a decision-making method based on generalized orthopair fuzzy definite integrals.To be specific,we first introduce the complement operations of q-rung orthopair fuzzy numbers,and then investigate the multiplicative q-rung orthopair fuzzy calculus.Through the complement operations,we establish the mutual conversion formula between additive and multiplicative q-rung orthopair fuzzy calculus theory.Then,we give a multiplicative integral-based q-rung orthopair fuzzy multi-attribute decision-making method,and discuss the relationship between the q-rung orthopair fuzzy definite integrals and the q-rung orthopair fuzzy weighted geometric operator.Compared with traditional decision-making methods,this method does not rely on subjective weight information,which is especially important when dealing with large sample data.Finally,the application of election is studied to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.With the introduction of generalized orthopair fuzzy sets,the expression form of election evaluation information has been expanded.We also provide some examples to compare the obtained results with the results generated by the addition operation and reveal the correlation between them.
