Methods Healthy volunteers (n=30) were placed in a temperature-controlled room as a resting state for 40 min. Then the blood perfusion of bilateral PC 6 were carried out using PeriFlux System 5000 for 25 minutes. Mean blood flux of every 5 minutes was calculated. Then the participants were divided into groups of young (n=18) and the old (n=12) as the boundary of 40 years, the asymmetry index and coherence value of bilateral PC 6 were analyzed in different group. Results The mean blood flow of the right PC 6 was significantly higher than the left PC 6 in three different epochs, the mean blood flow of right PC 6 vs left PC 6 is 9.74±3.36 vs 6.73±2.22 (t=5.9, P〈0.001), 9.83±3.63 vs 6.99±2.37 (t=5.11, P〈0.001) and 9.69±3.40 vs 6.77±2.32 (t=5.99, P〈0.001), respectively. Although the asymmetry index is higher in old group than in young group, there is no statistically significant age-related differences. Coherence analysis suggest that there is significant difference in frequency value corresponding to peak crest between young and old group. Conclusion The blood perfusion in right PC 6 is higher than left PC 6. Coherence analysis of laser Doppler flowmetry signals in bilateral PC 6 might provide a potential non-invasive method to assess microcirculatory changes in different ages.展开更多

Their primary reason is that DN does not use the meridian theory of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). in this paper, the authors refuted this claim. Through a systemic review on the global "Acupuncture Fever", there are several different manifestations of "De- Meridian" phenomena (meridian theory is not required for acupuncture and other related modalities). Although De-Meridian has played a positive role in the development of acupuncture, it does not mean "De-Acupuncture" (modaiities derived from but different from acupuncture). Given the clear definition of acupuncture by WHO, even though DN has certain attributes of De-Meridian that is similar to other forms of novel needling therapies, all of them belong to acupuncture. DN is a style of contemporary acupuncture, also called Trigger points (TrPs) acupuncture. This is because not only these myofascial TrPs stimulated by DN have always been acupoints, the needles and techniques used in DN are no different than acupuncture. Moreover, the mechanisms of DN and acupuncture are one in the same. The development of modern DN theory and its application are closely associated with the clinical trials and research of acupuncture. On the other hand, researches and clinical applications on myofascial TrP have highlighted the importance of stimulating reflex points in the clinic. However, as it refuses to inherit the theory and experience from thousands of years of acupuncture practice, it has shown obvious shortcomings in clinical applications.展开更多

Methods Ninety patients were randomly divided into an observation group (45 cases) and a control group (45 cases). Basic treatments selected according to corresponding stroke units were applied to both groups. Besides, scalp acupuncture at Dingnie Qianxiexian (MS 6, 顶颞前斜线), Dingnie Houxiexian (MS 6, 顶颞前斜线) and Dingzhongxian (NS 5, 顶中线), was applied in the treatment group. In the observation group, active and passive movement was carried out during the process of scalp acupuncture, and then needling plus bloodletting puncturing and cupping was applied. In the control group, only needling plus blood-letting puncturing and cupping was given. Therapeutic effects, pain scoring obtained by visual analogue scales (VAS), FugI-Meyer and FugI-Meyer's scoring reflecting moving functions of upper limbs were made after 4 courses of treatments in both groups. Results The total effective rate was 95.5% and 91.1% in the observation group and control group, respectively, showing superiority of the former to the latter (P〈0.05). After treatment, VAS scores were all obviously reduced in both groups (P〈0.01), and the reduction in the former was significantly more than that in the latter (P〈0.01). Moving functions of upper limbs shown by Fugl-Meyer's scoring were improved after 2 courses of treatment in both groups (P〈0.01). The improvement was more obvious after 4 courses of treatment than that after 2 courses of treatment in both groups (P〈0.05). After 4 courses of treatment, moving functions shown by FugI-Meyer's scoring were more remarkably improved in the observation group than those in the control group(t=3.9, P〈0.01). Conclusion Both kinetic needling combined with needling plus blood-letting puncturing and cupping and simple needling plus blood-letting puncturing and cupping are effective in treating shoulder-hand syndrome after apoplexy, and the former is better than the latter.展开更多

Regarding clinical studies, the resuscitation-inducing needling maneuver, and main points of Shuigou(水沟GV 26),Baihui(百会 GV 20) and scalp-points Motor Area(MS 6), Sensory Area(MS 7), etc. are often involved. Concerning experimental studies, the underlying mechanisms of acupuncture of GV-26+“Neiguan”(内关 PC 6), GV-20,GV-26+GV-20, etc. in improving acute CH are introduced. In a word, acupuncture therapy works well in improving clinical symptoms and signs of CH patients, and acupuncture stimulation induced ameilioration of cerebral blood flow, favorable modulation of some bioactive substances as excitatory and inhibitory amino acids, endothelin, CGRP, heat shock protein 70, etc. and neuro-endocrine-immune network may contribute to the effect of acupuncture on CH. In addition, acupuncture combined with medicine and earlier application of acupuncture therapy in the acute stage of CH are recommended in clinical practice.展开更多

Three months after treatment, follow-up showed that of the 40 and 19 cases in acu-massage and medication groups, 2 (5.0%) and 4 (21. 1%) relapsed separately conclusion:The therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with massage is markedly superior to that of medication in relieving neurosism.
文摘In the present paper, the authors review recent advances in clinical and experimental studies on acupuncture treatment of cerebral hemorrhage(CH). In addition, acupuncture combined with medicine and earlier application of acupuncture therapy in the acute stage of CH are recommended in clinical practice.
