Dual control of energy consumption is an effective method proposed in China to launch and deepen the transition in energy use.It has obtained favorable results;however,the resource consumption and pollution emissions ...Dual control of energy consumption is an effective method proposed in China to launch and deepen the transition in energy use.It has obtained favorable results;however,the resource consumption and pollution emissions per unit of Gross Domestic Product(GDP)remain high.This article quantitatively studies the current policies’effects to promote the advancement of dual control of energy consumption and develop future policies.Green production and consumption policies promote the development of dual control of energy consumption;therefore,this paper examines these policies through text mining and a quantitative evaluation system.The results suggest strong state demand for developing green production and consumption and the necessity for scientific evaluation;however,the state’s focus on the relevant policy tools is imbalanced.Constraint policy tools have the highest proportion of restricting pollutant emissions but lack comprehensiveness.Incentive and guidance policy tools have the problems of poor targets and low volume.Additionally,by constructing policy modeling consistency(PMC)index models for evaluating green production and consumption policies,six selected policies indicate solid performance,but some still have problems regarding policy timeframe,policy function,and green process.Based on the conclusions,this paper provides some targeted recommendations.展开更多

This study takes debt financing as the entry point and explores the impact of state-owned capital participation in private enterprises from the perspectives of“unarticulated rules”and“articulated rules”.The study ...This study takes debt financing as the entry point and explores the impact of state-owned capital participation in private enterprises from the perspectives of“unarticulated rules”and“articulated rules”.The study finds that state-owned capital participation significantly reduces the debt financing costs of private enterprises and expands the scale of their debt financing.This conclusion remains valid after a series of endogeneity and robustness tests.Further analysis of the mechanism reveals that state-owned capital participation improves the debt financing of private enterprises through multiple channels:Enhancing their social reputation,mitigating the“statistical bias”they face,optimizing their information quality,and reducing the“shareholder-creditor”agency problems.This paper conceptualizes these benefits as the“complementary advantages of heterogeneous shareholders”.This not only constructs a theoretical framework for“reverse mixed-ownership reform”but also better narrates the Chinese story of“mixed-ownership reform”by adopting a more universally applicable theory of equity structure.Additionally,the paper supplements existing research on the macro-and meso-level relationship between the government and the market by exploring the government’s positive role at the micro-level.展开更多
Decentralized methods for targeting poverty are widely adopted in developing countries to improve the performance of various poverty alleviation programs.A common challenge for implementing successful decentralized ta...Decentralized methods for targeting poverty are widely adopted in developing countries to improve the performance of various poverty alleviation programs.A common challenge for implementing successful decentralized targeting is the existence of elite capture.China has recently implemented a nationwide decentralized poverty targeting program,the targeted poverty alleviation(TPA)policy,to achieve the national goal of eliminating absolute poverty by the end of 2020.As the largest decentralized poverty targeting program in the world,TPA's successful implementation was believed to be threatened by elite capture in some earlier reports.Since 2015,a targeting correction mechanism,called"follow-up checks"policy,has been introduced.With the"follow-up checks"policy,the elites and other ineligible households who receive benefits under TPA were removed from the program.This paper investigates the elite capture phenomenon in TPA using village census data from a poverty-stricken county in 2017-two years after implementing the"follow-up checks"policy.We find no evidence of elite capture in TPA.The elites are unlikely to become beneficiaries or receive more benefits than non-elites.Our results contradict earlier findings that reported elite capture in TPA.We argue that the reason is the accountability emphasized by the central government in the"follow-up checks"policy.Our findings imply that having proper accountability is critical for improving targeting performance by global antipoverty initiatives.展开更多
The development of the new energy vehicle industry has become a key force driving the goals of carbon peak and carbon neutralization.To better guide future strategies,this study investigates the dual impact of subsidy...The development of the new energy vehicle industry has become a key force driving the goals of carbon peak and carbon neutralization.To better guide future strategies,this study investigates the dual impact of subsidy and dual-integral policies on the performance of new energy vehicle enterprises.This study first theorizes the influential mechanism according to the institutional-based approach and technical innovation theory,and then collects data from listed companies in the new energy vehicle industry from 2016 to 2020.The hypotheses are examined using a two-way fixed-effects model.The findings show that:(1)subsidy policies are can still improve enterprise performance,but not through green technology innovation;(2)the dual-credit policy can improve enterprise performance through green technology innovation;and(3)under current policy conditions,with subsidies declining annually,the interaction effects between the subsidy and dual-integral policies will also decrease.Thus,this study suggests that non-monetary industrial policy,represented by the dual credit policy is a more effective alternative to government subsidies.展开更多

Steganography technology has been widely used in data transmission with secret information.However,the existing steganography has the disadvantages of low hidden information capacity,poor visual effect of cover images...Steganography technology has been widely used in data transmission with secret information.However,the existing steganography has the disadvantages of low hidden information capacity,poor visual effect of cover images,and is hard to guarantee security.To solve these problems,steganography using reversible texture synthesis based on seeded region growing and LSB is proposed.Secret information is embedded in the process of synthesizing texture image from the existing natural texture.Firstly,we refine the visual effect.Abnormality of synthetic texture cannot be fully prevented if no approach of controlling visual effect is applied in the process of generating synthetic texture.We use seeded region growing algorithm to ensure texture’s similar local appearance.Secondly,the size and capacity of image can be decreased by introducing the information segmentation,because the capacity of the secret information is proportional to the size of the synthetic texture.Thirdly,enhanced security is also a contribution in this research,because our method does not need to transmit parameters for secret information extraction.LSB is used to embed these parameters in the synthetic texture.展开更多
Sentiment word embedding has been extensively studied and used in sentiment analysis tasks.However,most existing models have failed to differentiate high-frequency and low-frequency words.Accordingly,the sentiment inf...Sentiment word embedding has been extensively studied and used in sentiment analysis tasks.However,most existing models have failed to differentiate high-frequency and low-frequency words.Accordingly,the sentiment information of low-frequency words is insufficiently captured,thus resulting in inaccurate sentiment word embedding and degradation of overall performance of sentiment analysis.A Bayesian estimation-based sentiment word embedding(BESWE)model,which aims to precisely extract the sentiment information of low-frequency words,has been proposed.In the model,a Bayesian estimator is constructed based on the co-occurrence probabilities and sentiment proba-bilities of words,and a novel loss function is defined for sentiment word embedding learning.The experimental results based on the sentiment lexicons and Movie Review dataset show that BESWE outperforms many state-of-the-art methods,for example,C&W,CBOW,GloVe,SE-HyRank and DLJT1,in sentiment analysis tasks,which demonstrate that Bayesian estimation can effectively capture the sentiment information of low-frequency words and integrate the sentiment information into the word embedding through the loss function.In addition,replacing the embedding of low-frequency words in the state-of-the-art methods with BESWE can significantly improve the performance of those methods in sentiment analysis tasks.展开更多

How to create the scenery is the key issue in ancient towns.In this study,50 photos were collected and distributed through the Internet.First,456 online questionnaires with 25,080 data were got.Respondents'favorit...How to create the scenery is the key issue in ancient towns.In this study,50 photos were collected and distributed through the Internet.First,456 online questionnaires with 25,080 data were got.Respondents'favoritism was affected by gender,age,region,profession,and education.Second,SAM computer model was applied to image recognition of Wuzhen style photos,analyzing their visual elements.Third,SPSS software was used to analyze the correlation between subjective beauty degree score and objective landscape elements.Based on the coupled quantitative analysis of AI visual recognition and beauty degree score,it is found that the landscape elements that tourists cared most about are:water bodies,ancient buildings and boats.The proportions of the best landscape elements for the spatial sense of the ancient town are the sky ranged from 26.4%to 38.2%,water body ranged from 19.7%to 34.3%,and buildings ranged from 10.4%to 38.2%.This study reveals the pattern of different types of tourists'evaluation of the landscape to summarize the landscape construction strategy of ancient towns in Jiangnan accordingly.The results are not only beneflt to the cultural tourism of Wuzhen,but can also be applied to many ancient towns in Jiangnan.展开更多

The new energy vehicle(NEV)subsidy policy introduced in China in 2013 has significantly boosted the adoption and sales of NEVs,with sales increasing more than 40-fold.However,the mechanisms by which subsidy policies i...The new energy vehicle(NEV)subsidy policy introduced in China in 2013 has significantly boosted the adoption and sales of NEVs,with sales increasing more than 40-fold.However,the mechanisms by which subsidy policies influence the diffusion of NEVs in China remain unclear,posing challenges for governments to design future strategies.Thus,the primary objective of this paper is to empirically examine the impact of subsidy policy on the diffusion of new energy vehicles and to forecast future development trends using the grey Bass model,a predictive model suited for new product adoption forecasting.Our findings suggest that while the sales of NEVs in China will continue to rise,the growth rate will slow.Key milestones include the first inflection points for new energy vehicles and battery electric vehicles,anticipated in 2025 and 2024 respectively,with peak sales expected in 2028 and 2027.These insights are crucial for manufacturers,enabling them to adjust their production strategies timely and enhance their resilience in the market.展开更多
Composite index is always derived with the weighted aggregation of hierarchical components,which is widely utilized to distill intricate and multidimensional matters in economic and business statistics.However,the com...Composite index is always derived with the weighted aggregation of hierarchical components,which is widely utilized to distill intricate and multidimensional matters in economic and business statistics.However,the composite indices always present inevitable anomalies at different levels oriented from the calculation and expression processes of hierarchical components,thereby impairing the precise depiction of specific economic issues.In this paper,we propose VisCI,a visualization framework for anomaly detection and interactive optimization of composite index.First,LSTM-AE model is performed to detect anomalies from the lower level to the higher level of the composite index.Then,a comprehensive array of visual cues is designed to visualize anomalies,such as hierarchy and anomaly visualization.In addition,an interactive operation is provided to ensure accurate and efficient index optimization,mitigating the adverse impact of anomalies on index calculation and representation.Finally,we implement a visualization framework with interactive interfaces,facilitating both anomaly detection and intuitive composite index optimization.Case studies based on real-world datasets and expert interviews are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of our VisCI in commodity index anomaly exploration and anomaly optimization.展开更多
The new financial industry represented by peer-to-peer lending has gradually become a new source of volatility due to the increasing complexity of the Chinese financial market.This volatility leads to greater risk to ...The new financial industry represented by peer-to-peer lending has gradually become a new source of volatility due to the increasing complexity of the Chinese financial market.This volatility leads to greater risk to P2P investors and has become the focus of the regulatory authorities in China.Based on the background data of the P2P platform,Honglingchuangtou,we use the factor analysis method to construct a platform volatility(PV)index and we construct an HAR model to study the heterogeneous traders and leverage effect in the Chinese P2P market.The empirical results show that there are both short-term and long-term heterogeneous traders in the Chinese P2P market and that long-term traders have the greatest impact on market volatility.Similar to traditional financial markets,the volatility of the P2P market also shows a leverage effect,which means that the negative volatility of trader actions should have a negative impact on market fluctuations.With regard to the leverage effect,the LHAR-PV model is superior because of a higher goodness of fit and a lower prediction error.展开更多

This study investigates how government policies affect the market environment and enterprise practices.We conduct a quasi-natural experiment,with a treatment group based on enterprises'investment circumstances to ...This study investigates how government policies affect the market environment and enterprise practices.We conduct a quasi-natural experiment,with a treatment group based on enterprises'investment circumstances to examine the impact of the Fair Competition Review System(FCRS)on enterprise over-financialization.The relevant results are threefold.(1)The FCRS limits excessive cash flow by reducing the bank credit convenience and increasing the capital use cost,thereby lowering the proportion of financial investments.Simultaneously,it enhances production efficiency by stimulating corporate innovation and increasing total factor productivity,thereby promoting real investment.This dual approach effectively channels more capital into the real economy sector,preventing enterprises from becoming overly financialized.(2)The FCRS is more effective at reducing overfinancialization in state-owned enterprises,central-western regions,and areas with high market fragmentation.(3)The FCRS effectively reduces over-financialization under government self-review and joint-review regimes,but it is ineffective under third-party review.The combination of government self-review and third-party oversight is a more effective application of FCRS.Although this study concerns China's market and policy environment,policymakers in other countries considering the integration of similar policy instruments within their legal and market frameworks could learn from China's experiences with FCRS implementation to limit enterprise over-financialization and promote real economic growth.展开更多
The tax credit rating mechanism was formally implemented in 2014.As an important tax collection and management innovation,it has attracted the attention of regulatory authorities and scholars.Different from the litera...The tax credit rating mechanism was formally implemented in 2014.As an important tax collection and management innovation,it has attracted the attention of regulatory authorities and scholars.Different from the literature that directly examines corporate tax compliance,we focus on the impact of tax credit rating implementation on corporate research and development(R&D)investment decisions.Using listed companies’data from 2014 to 2019,we find that companies with higher tax credit ratings invest more in innovation,because the system helps managers identify R&D opportunities,alleviates corporate financing constraints and reduces agency costs.We confirm that tax credit ratings have manifold impacts on corporate information environments and business decisions,with better ratings positively affecting firms’business decisions.This discovery can inform tax policy reform,encourage corporate innovation and construct social credit systems.展开更多

文摘Sentiment word embedding has been extensively studied and used in sentiment analysis tasks.However,most existing models have failed to differentiate high-frequency and low-frequency words.Accordingly,the sentiment information of low-frequency words is insufficiently captured,thus resulting in inaccurate sentiment word embedding and degradation of overall performance of sentiment analysis.A Bayesian estimation-based sentiment word embedding(BESWE)model,which aims to precisely extract the sentiment information of low-frequency words,has been proposed.In the model,a Bayesian estimator is constructed based on the co-occurrence probabilities and sentiment proba-bilities of words,and a novel loss function is defined for sentiment word embedding learning.The experimental results based on the sentiment lexicons and Movie Review dataset show that BESWE outperforms many state-of-the-art methods,for example,C&W,CBOW,GloVe,SE-HyRank and DLJT1,in sentiment analysis tasks,which demonstrate that Bayesian estimation can effectively capture the sentiment information of low-frequency words and integrate the sentiment information into the word embedding through the loss function.In addition,replacing the embedding of low-frequency words in the state-of-the-art methods with BESWE can significantly improve the performance of those methods in sentiment analysis tasks.

文摘How to create the scenery is the key issue in ancient towns.In this study,50 photos were collected and distributed through the Internet.First,456 online questionnaires with 25,080 data were got.Respondents'favoritism was affected by gender,age,region,profession,and education.Second,SAM computer model was applied to image recognition of Wuzhen style photos,analyzing their visual elements.Third,SPSS software was used to analyze the correlation between subjective beauty degree score and objective landscape elements.Based on the coupled quantitative analysis of AI visual recognition and beauty degree score,it is found that the landscape elements that tourists cared most about are:water bodies,ancient buildings and boats.The proportions of the best landscape elements for the spatial sense of the ancient town are the sky ranged from 26.4%to 38.2%,water body ranged from 19.7%to 34.3%,and buildings ranged from 10.4%to 38.2%.This study reveals the pattern of different types of tourists'evaluation of the landscape to summarize the landscape construction strategy of ancient towns in Jiangnan accordingly.The results are not only beneflt to the cultural tourism of Wuzhen,but can also be applied to many ancient towns in Jiangnan.

文摘Corporate online sales data are embedded with high informational value.Focusing on auditors who are concerned about information quality,this paper systematically tests the governance effect of releasing third-party online sales data on audit quality.Using the first aggregate release of online sales data in 2018 as an exogenous shock,we use the difference-in-differences model and empirically demonstrate that the audit quality of firms with released online sales data improves significantly after 2018.Subsequent analyses demonstrate that releasing online sales data has a governance effect by improving internal control quality,audit efficiency and audit prudence.The findings demonstrate that the aggregate release of third-party online sales data could have positive economic consequences.

文摘Historic preservation and heritage conservation are two mainstream concepts related to the sustainability and renewal of historic houses.With the aim of enhancing the sustainability of historic houses,this article criticizes the view of historic preservation that insists on preserving historic houses with their old appearances,which does not fully develop their sustainability.In contrast,the article provides support for the view of heritage conservation that aims to promote the sustainability of historic houses and related legislation.In the second and third parts,this article examines the theoretical origin of historic preservation,which emphasizes and summarizes the one-way protection of cultural memory via historic houses.In the fourth part,the article turns to heritage conservation,highlights the sustainable cycle between historic houses and cultural memory,and underlines the advantages of this sustainable cycle.In the fifth part,this article presents a sustainable approach to heritage conservation and related legal safeguards by taking the renewal of historic houses in China’s Bagua Village(or"Eight Diagrams Village")as an example.In the last part,this paper summarizes the theoretical value,practical value and limitations of this article.The findings can facilitate the UN’s sustainable development of social inclusion,economic growth,and environmental protection to promote the heritage legislation and policy of present and future generations.

文摘The new energy vehicle(NEV)subsidy policy introduced in China in 2013 has significantly boosted the adoption and sales of NEVs,with sales increasing more than 40-fold.However,the mechanisms by which subsidy policies influence the diffusion of NEVs in China remain unclear,posing challenges for governments to design future strategies.Thus,the primary objective of this paper is to empirically examine the impact of subsidy policy on the diffusion of new energy vehicles and to forecast future development trends using the grey Bass model,a predictive model suited for new product adoption forecasting.Our findings suggest that while the sales of NEVs in China will continue to rise,the growth rate will slow.Key milestones include the first inflection points for new energy vehicles and battery electric vehicles,anticipated in 2025 and 2024 respectively,with peak sales expected in 2028 and 2027.These insights are crucial for manufacturers,enabling them to adjust their production strategies timely and enhance their resilience in the market.

文摘Composite index is always derived with the weighted aggregation of hierarchical components,which is widely utilized to distill intricate and multidimensional matters in economic and business statistics.However,the composite indices always present inevitable anomalies at different levels oriented from the calculation and expression processes of hierarchical components,thereby impairing the precise depiction of specific economic issues.In this paper,we propose VisCI,a visualization framework for anomaly detection and interactive optimization of composite index.First,LSTM-AE model is performed to detect anomalies from the lower level to the higher level of the composite index.Then,a comprehensive array of visual cues is designed to visualize anomalies,such as hierarchy and anomaly visualization.In addition,an interactive operation is provided to ensure accurate and efficient index optimization,mitigating the adverse impact of anomalies on index calculation and representation.Finally,we implement a visualization framework with interactive interfaces,facilitating both anomaly detection and intuitive composite index optimization.Case studies based on real-world datasets and expert interviews are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of our VisCI in commodity index anomaly exploration and anomaly optimization.

文摘The new financial industry represented by peer-to-peer lending has gradually become a new source of volatility due to the increasing complexity of the Chinese financial market.This volatility leads to greater risk to P2P investors and has become the focus of the regulatory authorities in China.Based on the background data of the P2P platform,Honglingchuangtou,we use the factor analysis method to construct a platform volatility(PV)index and we construct an HAR model to study the heterogeneous traders and leverage effect in the Chinese P2P market.The empirical results show that there are both short-term and long-term heterogeneous traders in the Chinese P2P market and that long-term traders have the greatest impact on market volatility.Similar to traditional financial markets,the volatility of the P2P market also shows a leverage effect,which means that the negative volatility of trader actions should have a negative impact on market fluctuations.With regard to the leverage effect,the LHAR-PV model is superior because of a higher goodness of fit and a lower prediction error.
文摘Blockchain technology has transformed digital transactions by enhancing security and trust through decentralization and cryptography.However,this technology also poses significant privacy challenges in transactions.Specifically,the transparency inherent in blockchain can lead to privacy concerns where sensitive transaction data and user identities are potentially exposed.This paper explores the dichotomy of data privacy and identity privacy within blockchain transactions,using Ethereum as a primary example.It delves into various privacy protection technologies currently in use,such as homomorphic encryption and zero-knowledge proofs,and evaluates their effectiveness and limitations.The paper further discusses the balance between privacy protection and regulatory compliance,which remains a critical challenge.Additionally,it considers future directions for enhancing privacy without compromising the security and functionality of blockchain systems.This exploration is vital for developing blockchain applications that maintain user confidentiality while benefiting from the transparency and security that blockchain provides.

文摘This study investigates how government policies affect the market environment and enterprise practices.We conduct a quasi-natural experiment,with a treatment group based on enterprises'investment circumstances to examine the impact of the Fair Competition Review System(FCRS)on enterprise over-financialization.The relevant results are threefold.(1)The FCRS limits excessive cash flow by reducing the bank credit convenience and increasing the capital use cost,thereby lowering the proportion of financial investments.Simultaneously,it enhances production efficiency by stimulating corporate innovation and increasing total factor productivity,thereby promoting real investment.This dual approach effectively channels more capital into the real economy sector,preventing enterprises from becoming overly financialized.(2)The FCRS is more effective at reducing overfinancialization in state-owned enterprises,central-western regions,and areas with high market fragmentation.(3)The FCRS effectively reduces over-financialization under government self-review and joint-review regimes,but it is ineffective under third-party review.The combination of government self-review and third-party oversight is a more effective application of FCRS.Although this study concerns China's market and policy environment,policymakers in other countries considering the integration of similar policy instruments within their legal and market frameworks could learn from China's experiences with FCRS implementation to limit enterprise over-financialization and promote real economic growth.

文摘The tax credit rating mechanism was formally implemented in 2014.As an important tax collection and management innovation,it has attracted the attention of regulatory authorities and scholars.Different from the literature that directly examines corporate tax compliance,we focus on the impact of tax credit rating implementation on corporate research and development(R&D)investment decisions.Using listed companies’data from 2014 to 2019,we find that companies with higher tax credit ratings invest more in innovation,because the system helps managers identify R&D opportunities,alleviates corporate financing constraints and reduces agency costs.We confirm that tax credit ratings have manifold impacts on corporate information environments and business decisions,with better ratings positively affecting firms’business decisions.This discovery can inform tax policy reform,encourage corporate innovation and construct social credit systems.
