State constraints in nonlinear systems are commonly pursued by resorting to barrier functions,which enforce constraints over the entire duration of system operation.We propose a universal intermittent state-constrained solution,which not only offers flexibility by activating constraints just during specific time periods of interest to the user,but also successfully accommodates different types of constraint boundaries.The innovative shifting functions are proposed to facilitate seamless transitions between constrained and unconstrained operational phases,resulting in more user-friendly design and implementation.By blending an improved shifting transformation into intermittent constraint design,we construct a universal barrier function upon the constrained states,with which our control strategy removes the limitations on constraint functions and completely obviates the feasibility conditions.Furthermore,a modified fuzzy approximator driven by the prediction error rather than the tracking error achieves decoupling of the control and estimation loops,which not only ensures the estimation performance,but also facilitates proof of stability.Finally,the effectiveness of the proposed scheme is assessed by numerical simulation. 展开更多

Objective:To determine the prevalence of bullying among university students in Jordan.The study also aims to identify potential predictors of bullying within the context of university students in Jordan.Methods:A cross-sectional study using a convenience sampling method was conducted with 350 university students from 3 institutions(2 public and 1 private),who par ticipated in this study.Data were collected through a self-repor ted questionnaire.Data analysis employed descriptive statistics,and multivariate linear regression was executed through the SPSS program(version 26)(IBM Corporation,Armonk,New York,United States)at 5% level of significance.Results:The findings revealed that 30% of the surveyed students reported never experiencing bullying,41.1% indicated rare exposure,20% reported occasional bullying,4.3% noted frequent exposure,and 4.6% reported constant exposure.Statistical analysis identified university and academic year as significant predictors of bullying.The university exhibited significance(B=-0.403,P≤0.05),while the academic year was also a significant predictor(B=0.213,P≤0.05).Conclusions:Given the prevalence and predictors identified,this study recommends the implementation of policies in universities to safeguard students from bullying.These policies should specifically target the most affected individuals. 展开更多

LUAR:Lightweight and Universal Attribute Revocation Mechanism with SGX Assistance towards Applicable ABE Systems

Attribute-Based Encryption(ABE)has emerged as a fundamental access control mechanism in data sharing,enabling data owners to define flexible access policies.A critical aspect of ABE is key revocation,which plays a pivotal role in maintaining security.However,existing key revocation mechanisms face two major challenges:(1)High overhead due to ciphertext and key updates,primarily stemming from the reliance on revocation lists during attribute revocation,which increases computation and communication costs.(2)Limited universality,as many attribute revocation mechanisms are tailored to specific ABE constructions,restricting their broader applicability.To address these challenges,we propose LUAR(Lightweight and Universal Attribute Revocation),a novel revocation mechanism that leverages Intel Software Guard Extensions(SGX)while minimizing its inherent limitations.Given SGX’s constrained memory(≈90 MB in a personal computer)and susceptibility to side-channel attacks,we carefully manage its usage to reduce reliance while mitigating potential collusion risks between cloud service providers and users.To evaluate LUAR’s lightweight and universality,we integrate it with the classic BSW07 scheme,which can be seamlessly replaced with other ABE constructions.Experimental results demonstrate that LUAR enables secure attribute revocation with low computation and communication overhead.The processing time within the SGX environment remains stable at approximately 55 ms,regardless of the complexity of access policies,ensuring no additional storage or computational burden on SGX.Compared to the Hardware-based Revocable Attribute-Based Encryption(HR-ABE)scheme(IEEE S&P 2024),LUAR incurs a slightly higher computational cost within SGX;however,the overall time from initiating a data request to obtaining plaintext is shorter.As access policies grow more complex,LUAR’s advantages become increasingly evident,showcasing its superior efficiency and broader applicability. 展开更多

Perceived Involution and Academic Burnout among University Students: The Mediating Role of Anxiety and the Moderating Role of Self-Control

Background:The concept of“involution”has garnered significant attention within China’s education system,encapsulating students’perceptions of intense and often fruitless academic competition.However,the impact of perceived involution on students’psychological outcomes,particularly academic burnout,remains underexplored.This study examines the relationship between perceived involution and academic burnout among university students.Specifically,it examines whether anxiety mediates this relationship and whether self-control moderates the effect of perceived involution on anxiety.Methods:A cross-sectional survey was administered to 673 university students in China.Standardized scales were employed to measure perceived involution,anxiety,self-control,and academic burnout.Data analysis was performed using SPSS 26.0 and the PROCESS macro(version 4.2),incorporating mediation(Model 4)and moderation(Model 7)analyses with bootstrapping procedures.Results:Perceived involution was positively associated with academic burnout(β=0.25,p<0.01),accounting for approximately 6%of the variance,which indicates a small-to-moderate effect.Anxiety partially mediated this relationship,with a significant indirect effect(B=0.0013,95%CI[0.0003,0.0029]).Furthermore,self-control significantly moderated the association between perceived involution and anxiety(interactionβ=0.19,p=0.03),such that the positive effect of perceived involution on anxiety was attenuated among students with higher self-control.Although the effect sizes were modest,these findings suggest meaningful psychological and practical implications at the population level in highly competitive academic environments.Conclusion:These findings suggest that perceived involution contributes to academic burnout by exacerbating anxiety,while self-control serves as a protective factor against it.The study offers theoretical insights into the emotional mechanisms underlying burnout and provides practical implications for stress intervention and mental health promotion in higher education. 展开更多

The advent of digital and intelligent era has brought profound impacts to higher education in terms of teaching models,learning resources,teacher-student roles,and instructional management.Among them,local universities with relatively weak resources but large scale are particularly noteworthy.A questionnaire survey on the current situation of informative teaching among teachers from local universities found that their overall awareness of informative teaching is positive,but their ability structure is uneven,especially in data-driven teaching evaluation and human-machine collaborative design,where there are obvious shortcomings.Research has revealed that the development of teachers'informative teaching ability is influenced by internal factors such as intrinsic motivation and data literacy,as well as external factors such as training systems and school support.Based on this,a systematic improvement path of"concept guidance-precise empowerment-environmental support-institutional guarantee"four-in-one is proposed to provide practical reference for promoting the professional development of teachers from local universities and the digital transformation of higher education. 展开更多

Herein,we have developed a straightforward wet-chemical method to synthesize a series of Pd-based alloy nanowires(NWs),including Pd Pt NWs,Pd Au NWs,Pd Ir NWs,and Pd Ru NWs,which exhibits high mass activity and turnover frequency(TOF) for HER,surpassing Pt/C by 4.6-fold and 1.5-fold in acidic and alkaline electrolytes,respectively.It also demonstrates high stability in alkaline electrolyte at a current density of 220 m A/cm^(2) for 280 h,highlighting its potential for practical applications under industrial current conditions.Pd Pt NWs exhibited ultrathin structures with head-to-tail kinks and inherent defects,significantly increasing the density of active sites and precisely tuning the electronic structure,which could accelerate reaction kinetics and boost water-splitting electrocatalytic performance.This study highlights the potential of Pd Pt NWs as highly efficient catalysts,offering outstanding catalytic performance and stability for practical applications. 展开更多

This paper explores the algebraic essence of universal logic functions(ULFs)from an algebraic perspective.Under the framework of semi-tensor product of matrices,the“sequential nature”of ULFs is revealed.Utilizing the nature,a technique called universal transformation method is proposed,by which any ULF can be transformed into an equivalent expression with desired features that facilitate achieving specific objectives,such as modeling,analyzing and synthesizing universal logical systems.Furthermore,several useful logical operators are constructed in a mixed-dimensional situation,including power-raising operator,power-descending operator,erasure operator,and appending operator.Finally,these results are applied to model and analyze finite state machines and their networks,which demonstrate the practical value of the method and operators. 展开更多

A PAM-free and universal CRISPR-Cas12a activation model for ultra-sensitive DNA methylation detection

DNA methylation is an important promising biomarker for cancer diagnosis and monitoring.Therefore,the assessment of DNA methylation levels is helpful for the prognosis and diagnosis of cancer.However,it is still a huge challenge to sensitively and accurately quantify the levels of DNA methylation in clinical sample.In this work,we proposed a protospacer adjacent motif(PAM)-free mediated CRISPR-Cas12a ultra-sensitive and quantitative DNA methylation detection method.Through recognizing the ds DNA with toehold region,CRISPR-Cas12a not only got rid of the limitation of PAM,but also improved its distinction ability for single Cp G site methylation,nearly 5-fold that of conventional PAM-containing ds DNA.We further introduced assist-strand and design an artificial mismatch to greatly improve the ability to distinguish single Cp G methylation site.Our results showed that the discrimination factor was >200.Then,we constructed toe-ds DNA by using “heating and freezing”,which made our method universally applicable and feasible.In addition,we greatly simplified the difficulty of primer design.Our method detected four highly methylated genes acyl carrier protein(ACP),CLV3/ESR-related(CLE),Disabled(DAB) and Homeobox(HOX) with a detection limit of 0.01 % and excellent linearity in DNA methylation standards.Then,we verified the clinical utility of this method in 29 hepatocellular carcinomas,11 ovarian cancers and4 health people.In conclusion,we have successfully constructed a PAM-free CRISPR-Cas12a DNA methylation quantification method,which achieves high congruence in sensitivity,specificity and universality,fully demonstrating its significant clinical application value. 展开更多
