Sustainable aviation fuel(SAF)offers various pathways to mitigate the aviation industry’s significant carbon footprint.Over the past years,the SAF research landscape has seen a proliferation of overview/survey papers...Sustainable aviation fuel(SAF)offers various pathways to mitigate the aviation industry’s significant carbon footprint.Over the past years,the SAF research landscape has seen a proliferation of overview/survey papers across diverse domains,driven by an increasing number of primary studies.The fragmentation of these papers across disciplinary boundaries,however,has a strong potential to prevent a comprehensive understanding of SAF state of the art and advancements.In this meta-review,we synthesize insights from the extant SAF survey literature.By systematically analyzing over 60 survey/overview papers on feedstock production,fuel synthesis technologies,lifecycle assessments,policy frameworks,economic viability,and intersections thereof,our review identifies recurring themes and emerging technologies regarding SAF research.Our meta-review also underscores the need of orchestrated future research efforts,by consolidating the top-10 fragmented SAF challenges across all surveys.We highlight feedstock availability problems,opportunities for scaling up production while maintaining sustainability criteria,fostering cooperation,and harmonizing SAF certification standards,among others.Our meta-review seeks to serve as a navigational tool for researchers,policymakers,and industry stakeholders alike,laying the foundation for a more effective and impactful orchestration of future work towards decarbonizing global aviation.展开更多
Air transport management research,concerned with all facets of aviation operations,policies,and strategies,is an essential element of making our aviation system more sustainable and preparing it for the challenges inh...Air transport management research,concerned with all facets of aviation operations,policies,and strategies,is an essential element of making our aviation system more sustainable and preparing it for the challenges inherent to the present and future.Based on a data-driven categorization of almost 2,000 papers published on the subject,we discuss the status quo in air transport management research.Through our data-driven categorization we have identified 15 broad topics.For each topic,we provide a description of the state of the art and propose 2-3 chal-lenges,respectively.Overall,our study provides a set of 35 challenges to the research community.Accordingly,we hope and believe that our study makes a valuable contribution,mainly by guiding the air transport manage-ment research community towards a delineated work plan on the research landscape of air transport as well as the present challenges,ultimately helping to improve the global air transport system.展开更多
Air transport service quality has been a popular research topic in the last decade.A systematic literature review on this topic was conducted on the articles published in quality transport,tourism,and consumer service...Air transport service quality has been a popular research topic in the last decade.A systematic literature review on this topic was conducted on the articles published in quality transport,tourism,and consumer service journals.We present the statistics on study locations,leading authors and affiliations,citations,and research frameworks and data collection methods.We show that there is an increasing use of online survey tools for data collection.Most of the articles have explicitly or implicitly used the SERVQUAL model or its variations such as AIRQUAL to examine the air transport service attributes.Several research areas are identified to bring the SERVQUAL model and theair transport service quality research up to date:the digital and technology-enabled service dimensions,the privacy and cybersecurity consideration,the corporate social responsibility dimension,and the hygiene requirement.We also call for in-depth studies into some individual service dimensions such as services for special needs passengers.展开更多
