This paper investigates the problem of collecting multidimensional data throughout time(i.e.,longitudinal studies)for the fundamental task of frequency estimation under Local Differential Privacy(LDP)guarantees.Contra...This paper investigates the problem of collecting multidimensional data throughout time(i.e.,longitudinal studies)for the fundamental task of frequency estimation under Local Differential Privacy(LDP)guarantees.Contrary to frequency estimation of a single attribute,the multidimensional aspect demands particular attention to the privacy budget.Besides,when collecting user statistics longitudinally,privacy progressively degrades.Indeed,the“multiple”settings in combination(i.e.,many attributes and several collections throughout time)impose several challenges,for which this paper proposes the first solution for frequency estimates under LDP.To tackle these issues,we extend the analysis of three state-of-the-art LDP protocols(Generalized Randomized Response–GRR,Optimized Unary Encoding–OUE,and Symmetric Unary Encoding–SUE)for both longitudinal and multidimensional data collections.While the known literature uses OUE and SUE for two rounds of sanitization(a.k.a.memoization),i.e.,L-OUE and L-SUE,respectively,we analytically and experimentally show that starting with OUE and then with SUE provides higher data utility(i.e.,L-OSUE).Also,for attributes with small domain sizes,we propose Longitudinal GRR(L-GRR),which provides higher utility than the other protocols based on unary encoding.Last,we also propose a new solution named Adaptive LDP for LOngitudinal and Multidimensional FREquency Estimates(ALLOMFREE),which randomly samples a single attribute to be sent with the whole privacy budget and adaptively selects the optimal protocol,i.e.,either L-GRR or L-OSUE.As shown in the results,ALLOMFREE consistently and considerably outperforms the state-of-the-art L-SUE and L-OUE protocols in the quality of the frequency estimates.展开更多
Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework-8(ZIF-8)material was prepared by chemical precipitation method.The microstructure and physical properties of the as-prepared samples were characterized by XRD,BET,FESEM and UV spectropho...Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework-8(ZIF-8)material was prepared by chemical precipitation method.The microstructure and physical properties of the as-prepared samples were characterized by XRD,BET,FESEM and UV spectrophotometer.The self-made four-channel measurement device was used to test the gas sensitivity of ZIF-8 material toward ethanol gas under photo-thermal synergistic excitation.The results showed that the sample was typical ZIF-8(E_(g)=4.96 eV)with a regular dodecahedron shape and the specific surface is up to 1793 m^(2)/g.The as-prepared ZIF-8 has a gas response value of 55.04 to 100 ppm ethanol at 75℃ and it shows good gas sensing selectivity and repeated stability.The excellent gas sensitivity can be attributed to the increase of free electron concentration in the ZIF-8 conduction band by photo-thermal synergistic excitation,and the large specific surface area of ZIF-8 material provides more active sites for gas-solid surface reaction.The reaction mechanism of ZIF-8 material under multi-field excitation was also discussed.展开更多

In the present work,selective laser melting(SLM)technology was utilized for manufacturing CX stainless steel samples under a series of laser parameters.The effect of laser linear energy density on the microstructure c...In the present work,selective laser melting(SLM)technology was utilized for manufacturing CX stainless steel samples under a series of laser parameters.The effect of laser linear energy density on the microstructure characteristics,phase distribution,crystallographic orientation and mechanical properties of these CX stainless steel samples were investigated theoretically and experimentally via scanning electron microscope(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD)and transmission electron microscope(TEM).Based on the systematic study,the SLM CX stainless steel sample with best surface roughness(Ra=4.05±1.8μm)and relative density(Rd=99.72%±0.22%)under the optimal linear density(η=245 J/m)can be obtained.SLM CX stainless steel was primarily constituted by a large number of fine martensite(α’phase)structures(i.e.,cell structures,cellular dendrites and blocky grains)and a small quantity of austenite(γphase)structures.The pre ferred crystallographic orientation(i.e.,<111>direction)can be determined in the XZ plane of the SLM CX sample.Furthermore,under the optimal linear energy density,the good combinations with the highest ultimate tensile strength(UTS=1068.0%±5.9%)and the best total elongation(TE=15.70%±0.26%)of the SLM CX sample can be attained.Dislocation strengthening dominates the strengthening mechanism of the SLM CX sample in as-built state.展开更多

Purpose:This study investigated emotion-performance relationships in rugby union.We identified which emotions rugby players experienced and the extent to which these emotions were associated with performance,consideri...Purpose:This study investigated emotion-performance relationships in rugby union.We identified which emotions rugby players experienced and the extent to which these emotions were associated with performance,considering how emotions unfold over the course of a game,and whether the game was played at home or away.Methods:Data were gathered from 22 professional male rugby union players using auto-confrontation interviews to help identify situations within games when players experienced intense emotions.We assessed the intensity of emotions experienced before each discrete performance and therefore could assess the emotion-performance relationship within a competition.Results:Players identified experiencing intense emotions at 189 time-points.Experts in rugby union rated the quality of each performance at these 189 time-points on a visual analog scale.A Linear Mixed Effects model to investigate emotion-performance relationships found additive effects of game location,game time,and emotions on individual performance.Conclusion:Results showed 7 different pre-performance emotions,with high anxiety and anger associating with poor performance.Future research should continue to investigate emotion-performance relationships during performance using video-assisted recall and use a measure of performance that has face validity for players and coaches alike.展开更多
In this study,the interaction of exopolysaccharides from Leuconostoc mesenteroides P35(EPS-LM)with Escherichia coli heat-labile enterotoxin B-pentamer(LTB)was investigated at different concentrations and temperatures ...In this study,the interaction of exopolysaccharides from Leuconostoc mesenteroides P35(EPS-LM)with Escherichia coli heat-labile enterotoxin B-pentamer(LTB)was investigated at different concentrations and temperatures by using surface plasmon resonance(SPR)and molecular docking approaches.FT-IR spectral analysis together with HPTLC analysis revealing that glucose is the only constitutive monosaccharide of EPS-LM suggests that its structure is composed of dextran withα-D(1→6)glycosidic linkages.SPR analysis revealed the high affinity of EPS-LM for immobilized LTB toxin(KA=(2.05±0.04)×10^(6) mol.L−1 at 37℃).The binding process was spontaneous(ΔG<0),endothermic(ΔH>0),and entropy-driven(ΔS>0)with an increase of KA with temperature.This suggests that EPS-LM-LTB interaction is dominated by hydrophobic forces.The binding affinity of EPS-LM to LTB had negligible dependence on enthalpy(ΔH=0.084 kJ mol−1).Further,molecular docking results suggested the presence of some binding sites of EPS-LM on the LTB through hydrophobic forces(Lys,Asp,Arg,Glu)and also hydrogen bonding(Glu)in the hydrophobic core of LTB.Besides autodock studies,Schiffer-Edmundson helical wheel diagrams of LTB inα-helix domain suggested that LTB hydrophobic core is a highly effective region,which was able to form favorable non-polar interactions of the protein's binding surface(with amino acids residues such as Tyr,Leu,Ile)with EPS-LM.This study provided thus further insights into the interactions between EPS-LM and LTB,suggesting that EPS produced by some LAB,such as EPS produced by Ln.mesenteroides P35 strain are good candidates to inhibit E.coli toxin activity.展开更多
