Therefore, theorists in the field of translation studies are interested in studying and examining this notion in order to discover its effect on the way a translator deals with a text. The aim of this study is to explore the different definitions of translation as a process and as a product. The study focuses on specific definitions that have been introduced by Arab scholars in the field of translation, for example, AI-zarqani (1998) who argued that translation is an act of transferring a text with all its meanings and objectives from one language to another. This idea of transferring the different meanings and objectives of a given text imposes an important question that the researcher tries to answer in this paper. Is translation a process of substituting a text in one language for a text in another? After reviewing the related literature and by analyzing different translated passages from Arabic and English, it shows that translation is not a mere substitution of texts among languages. The translator must be aware of the objectives and meanings conveyed in the source text in order to produce an accurate translation.展开更多

In recent years,the gut microbiota has become an integral research topic in human health owing to its impact on digestion,immunity,metabolic processes,and mental health.The possibilities of microbiome treatment have i...In recent years,the gut microbiota has become an integral research topic in human health owing to its impact on digestion,immunity,metabolic processes,and mental health.The possibilities of microbiome treatment have increased interest in dietary approaches,with a special focus on the intake of fermented foods.This has revived some of the most profound and practical constructs derived from food therapy in Chinese medicine(CM),where food therapy,along with fermented options,actively preserves health and prevents disease.In CM,the spleen and stomach system refers to the postnatal foundation of the body,which controls the processes of chewing,nutrient assimilation,and energy production(qi).The balance between intestinal and overall health is the foundation of psychosomatic well-being and is of utmost importance.Fermented foods can boost the spleen,alleviate stagnant food syndrome,dispel excess fluids,enhance protective functions,and strengthen the immune system.This review aimed to integrate the conceptual and clinical paradigms of CM with those of Western medicine,focusing on the role of fermented foods in gut microbiota regulation.This article discusses prominent fermented foods in CM and their classical functions,alongside the currently available peer-reviewed literature(published within the last 7 years)on their impact on gut flora and other clinical outcomes.Mechanistic considerations regarding the production of probiotics and other active metabolites,such as short-chain fatty acids,and the modulation of the intestinal barrier are discussed.This review also examines multidisciplinary approaches to dietary customs worldwide and outlines the clinical applications of these findings in the context of chronic disease management and gastrointestinal health.展开更多
Endometrial injury caused by intrauterine procedures can result in infertility and recurrent miscarriages,and the current clinical treatments are inadequate for effective endometrial repair.The implantation of anti-ad...Endometrial injury caused by intrauterine procedures can result in infertility and recurrent miscarriages,and the current clinical treatments are inadequate for effective endometrial repair.The implantation of anti-adhesion hydrogels combined with growth factors is a promising strategy to address endometrial injury.Insulin-like growth factor 1 is closely associated with endometrial growth and plays a crucial role in endometrial receptivity that is essential for fertility.However,its high cost,environmental sensitivity,and short biological half-life limit its practical applications.In this study,we developed a two-component peptide-based hydrogel consisting of a biotinylated peptide and an insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF-1)mimetic peptide,both of which were designed with self-assembly capabilities.The resultant hydrogel exhibited significant mechanical properties and retained its native IGF-1 bioactivity.In vivo experiments demonstrated that the hydrogel significantly facilitated proliferation and vascular restoration.Additionally,it effectively reduced fibrosis by decreasing collagen accumulation,restoring the expression of progesterone receptors,and enhancing endometrial receptivity,which are crucial for embryo implantation.These findings highlight the potential of the two-component peptide-based hydrogel as an innovative therapeutic approach for treating endometrial injury.展开更多

This is an improved model based on memory networks, and makes it possible to extract more rich and complex semantic information from sequences and aspects. In order to fix the memory network’s inability to capture context-related information on a word-level,we propose utilizing convolution to capture n-gram grammatical information. We use multi-head self-attention to make up for the problem where the memory network ignores the semantic information of the sequence itself. Meanwhile, unlike most recurrent neural network(RNN) long short term memory(LSTM), gated recurrent unit(GRU) models, we retain the parallelism of the network. We experiment on the open datasets Sem Eval-2014 Task 4 and Sem Eval-2016 Task 6. Compared with some popular baseline methods, our model performs excellently.展开更多

The distribution has one parameter, yet it has a variance that is larger than the mean a phenomenon known as “over dispersion”. We discuss potential applications of the distribution as a model of counts, and under the assumption of independence we will perform statistical inference on the ratio of two means, with generalization to testing the homogeneity of several means. Methods: Bayesian methods depend on the choice of the prior distributions of the population parameters. In this paper, we describe a Bayesian approach for estimation and inference on the parameters of several independent Inflated Poisson (IPD) distributions with two possible priors, the first is the reciprocal of the square root of the Poisson parameter and the other is a conjugate Gamma prior. The parameters of Gamma distribution are estimated in the empirical Bayesian framework using the maximum likelihood (ML) solution using nonlinear mixed model (NLMIXED) in SAS. With these priors we construct the highest posterior confidence intervals on the ratio of two IPD parameters and test the homogeneity of several populations. Results: We encountered convergence problem in estimating the hyperparameters of the posterior distribution using the NLMIXED. However, direct maximization of the predictive density produced solutions to the maximum likelihood equations. We apply the methodologies to RNA-SEQ read count data of gene expression values.展开更多

Although VacA targeting of mitochondria has b...The Helicobacter pylori vacuolating cytotoxin (VacA) is an intracellular, mitochondrial-targeting exotoxin that rapidly causes mitochondrial dysfunction and fragmentation. Although VacA targeting of mitochondria has been reported to alter overall cellular metabolism, there is little known about the consequences of extended exposure to the toxin. Here, we describe studies to address this gap in knowledge, which have revealed that mitochondrial dysfunction and fragmentation are followed by a time-dependent recovery of mitochondrial structure, mitochondrial transmembrane potential, and cellular ATP levels. Cells exposed to VacA also initially demonstrated a reduction in oxidative phosphorylation, as well as increase in compensatory aerobic glycolysis. These metabolic alterations were reversed in cells with limited toxin exposure, congruent with the recovery of mitochondrial transmembrane potential and the absence of cytochrome c release from the mitochondria. Taken together, these results are consistent with a model that mitochondrial structure and function are restored in VacA-intoxicated cells.展开更多
Background: Neuromuscular choristoma is a rare benign peripheral neuropathy composed of ectopic mature muscle fibers and nerve bundles, usually involving large nerve roots or trunks, such as brachial plexus and sciati...Background: Neuromuscular choristoma is a rare benign peripheral neuropathy composed of ectopic mature muscle fibers and nerve bundles, usually involving large nerve roots or trunks, such as brachial plexus and sciatic nerve. NMC usually occurs in childhood, and some cases are congenital. Here, we report a case of adult orbital intraconal NMC. The resected specimens were fish-like and tough. Histological pathology suggested that the specimen was composed of mature skeletal muscle tissue interspersed with peripheral nerve bundles. Histopathological examination revealed that the left orbital mass was composed of mature skeletal muscle tissue interspersed with surrounding nerve fascicles. Immunohistochemistry: S-100 protein was positive. In general, postoperative histopathological examination ultimately determined the diagnosis of NMC in the intraconal region of the orbital muscle. Case Presentation: A 51-year-old female patient was admitted to the hospital due to periocular pain for 2 weeks. Orbital CT scan showed an irregular soft tissue density in the left orbital muscle cone area, and the boundary between the local and the left lateral rectus muscle was unclear. Magnetic resonance imaging showed that there was an oval abnormal signal in the posterior lateral space of the left eyeball, with a clear edge and a size of about 22 mm × 8 mm. The boundary between the local area and the left lateral rectus muscle was unclear, and the optic nerve was compressed to the right side. The T1 WI showed low signal, T2-FS showed high and low mixed signal, and the enhanced scan showed continuous obvious enhancement. Eventually, the patient underwent surgical resection of the lesion. Conclusions: NMC is a rare benign peripheral neuropathy, especially NMC in the orbital muscle cone. There is no specificity in clinical and imaging examinations. Accurate diagnosis before surgical resection is very challenging for clinicians and radiologists. Importantly, we can differentiate orbital NMC from other types of orbital tumors.展开更多

Insufficient radiofrequency ablation(IRFA)of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)leads to alterations in epigenetic properties such as N^(6)-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)RNA methylation in tumor cells,which creates an immune-suppr...Insufficient radiofrequency ablation(IRFA)of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)leads to alterations in epigenetic properties such as N^(6)-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)RNA methylation in tumor cells,which creates an immune-suppressive tumor microenvironment capable of promoting residual tumor growth and recurrence and affecting the efficacy of RFA.In this study,the constructed STM-Mn@OMVs,which were produced through the rational functionalisation of bacterial-derived OMVs with Mn^(2+)ions and the methylation inhibitor STM2457,were found to effectively activate antitumor immunity.Our study shows that STM-Mn@OMVs can effectively promote dendritic cells(DCs)maturation,T cell activation,and STING pathway activation after endocytosis by cells,thus promoting immune cell infiltration.The STM-Mn@OMVs were able to promote cellular pyroptosis and synergistically activate the STING pathway.Furthermore,STM-Mn@OMVs promoted the increase of M1 macrophage phenotype in tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs)by reducing the infiltration of immunosuppressive cell populations such as regulatory T cells(Tregs)and myeloid-derived suppressor cells(MDSCs),thus reversing the suppressive immune microenvironment after IRFA to some extent.Ultimately,the growth of residual tumors was inhibited.In addition,the biosafety of STM-Mn@OMVs was demonstrated in this study.Therefore,the STM-Mn@OMVs constructed in this study have great potential for application in the field of RFA and immunotherapy for HCC.展开更多
This study uses conversational and membership categorization analyses to explore how Piers Morgan and Bassem Youssef locally employ sequential orga-nization and embodied social categorization work to frame public disc...This study uses conversational and membership categorization analyses to explore how Piers Morgan and Bassem Youssef locally employ sequential orga-nization and embodied social categorization work to frame public discourse around accountability and condemnation in the 2023 Israel-Gaza war(IGW).The study ex-plores how specific membership categorization devices,categories,category-bound activities,and predicates construct and challenge social structures and interactional processes in political discourse.This study delves into the embodied categorical practices that recognize or produce social action and local accomplishments of social organizations to identify the normative power of categorization in prompting moral evaluations.Using ethnomethodology,it illustrates how social order is achieved through situated accomplishments of members’practical actions and reasoning,using linguistic devices and commonsense knowledge in face-to-face news interviews.The findings indicate that through multimodal resources–voice,ges-tures,and body language–both Morgan and Youssef invoke and negotiate moral categories that frame perspectives on the Israeli-Arab conflict,highlighting dynamics of aggression,dehumanization,and social justice.They mobilize and enact membership categories through activities,predicates,and attributes that resonate with notions of morality and social justice.Contributing to the literature on multi-modal organizational studies in political communication,this study addresses the underexplored role of multimodal interactional resources in the situated construc-tion and challenge of social and moral categories to shape public perceptions of complex conflicts.展开更多

Iodine is widely acknowledged for its potent antimicrobial properties.However,its clinical utility is often hampered by its unsatisfactory stability,uncontrolled release of active iodine and toxicity in moist environm...Iodine is widely acknowledged for its potent antimicrobial properties.However,its clinical utility is often hampered by its unsatisfactory stability,uncontrolled release of active iodine and toxicity in moist environments.In this study,we report a novel iodine-containing hydrogel(I_(2)@Nap-FFGP)designed for sustained iodine delivery under humid physiological and pathological conditions.I_(2)@Nap-FFGP was fabricated using a self-assembling peptide-based hydrogel containing a proline motif to form a stable iodine complex.The resulting hydrogel exhibited excellent biocompatibility and robust antibacterial effect,it significantly inhibited bacteria-associated endometrial infections in mice and effectively alleviated inflammation.Moreover,the hydrogel successfully restored endometrial architecture and function.Notably,I_(2)@Nap-FFGP remarkably improved pregnancy rates in mice with endometritis owing to its therapeutic effects.Our findings highlight the potential of this innovative hydrogel system for stable iodine application under humid and aqueous physiological conditions,offering a promising platform for future antibacterial therapies in clinical settings.展开更多
Chemotherapy serves as the primary therapeutic approach for triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC),yet its efficacy remains unsatisfactory.This study was a single-arm,open-label,single-center clinical trial(NCT05447702)i...Chemotherapy serves as the primary therapeutic approach for triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC),yet its efficacy remains unsatisfactory.This study was a single-arm,open-label,single-center clinical trial(NCT05447702)involving patients with newly diagnosed stage Ⅱ-Ⅲ TNBC at West China Hospital.The treatment regimen consisted of camrelizumab(200 mg intravenously every 2 weeks,12 cycles),apatinib(250 mg orally daily),and alternating chemotherapy[nab-paclitaxel(d1,8,15 every 4 weeks)for 4 cycles and epirubicin plus cyclophosphamide(every 2 weeks)for 4 cycles].From June 2023 to April 2024,35 patients were enrolled,of whom 1 patient withdrew due to adverse reaction intolerance.At treatment completion,the total pathological complete response(tpCR,ypT0/is,ypN0)rate was 67.6%(23/34),and the breast pCR(ypT0/is)rate was 70.6%(24/34).The overall response rate following neoadjuvant treatment reached 94.1%(32/34).展开更多

The hardware design and controlling flow of each module are introduced in detail. The sampling rate can reach 64 Msps and system transfers speed can be up to 128 Mb/s by using time interleaving, which increases the overall sampling speed of a system by operating two data converters in parallel.展开更多

The calculation method of node throughput in chain and arbitrary topology is proposed under nodes fairness guarantee. Network scale and interference among nodes are key factors that influence node throughput. Node distribution pattern near the gateway also affects the node throughput. Experiment based on network simulator-2 (NS-2) simulation platform compares node throughput between smart antenna scenario and omni-antenna scenario. As smart antenna technology reduces the bottle collision domain, node throughput increases observably.展开更多

The constant weight code is introduced to construct the MPPM signal and the comparison between MPPM and single pulse position modulation (SPPM) is done in three aspects, namely, power efficiency, bandwidth efficiency, and probability of symbol error, respectively. The theoretical analysis and the numerical results show that when the constant weight code is appropriately chosen, MPPM can achieve lower probability of symbol error and higher power efficiency than SPPM at the cost of more bandwidth under the same condition. The proposed MPPM can be a good candidate in UWB system design.展开更多

The filter has two band gap centers at 4.9 GHz and 7.35 GHz, respectively, where the two centre frequencies are just the second and third harmonics 2.45 GHz. The filters with high band-stop performance and wideband spurious suppression can be achieved by cascading miniaturized unsymmetrical T-shape DGS. The attenuation of three-cascaded T-shape DGS filter is 30.77 dB at 4.9 GHz and 17.96 dB at 7.35 GHz respectively. The above experimental results are in good agreement with the simulation results, especially for the third harmonic.展开更多

文摘In recent years,the gut microbiota has become an integral research topic in human health owing to its impact on digestion,immunity,metabolic processes,and mental health.The possibilities of microbiome treatment have increased interest in dietary approaches,with a special focus on the intake of fermented foods.This has revived some of the most profound and practical constructs derived from food therapy in Chinese medicine(CM),where food therapy,along with fermented options,actively preserves health and prevents disease.In CM,the spleen and stomach system refers to the postnatal foundation of the body,which controls the processes of chewing,nutrient assimilation,and energy production(qi).The balance between intestinal and overall health is the foundation of psychosomatic well-being and is of utmost importance.Fermented foods can boost the spleen,alleviate stagnant food syndrome,dispel excess fluids,enhance protective functions,and strengthen the immune system.This review aimed to integrate the conceptual and clinical paradigms of CM with those of Western medicine,focusing on the role of fermented foods in gut microbiota regulation.This article discusses prominent fermented foods in CM and their classical functions,alongside the currently available peer-reviewed literature(published within the last 7 years)on their impact on gut flora and other clinical outcomes.Mechanistic considerations regarding the production of probiotics and other active metabolites,such as short-chain fatty acids,and the modulation of the intestinal barrier are discussed.This review also examines multidisciplinary approaches to dietary customs worldwide and outlines the clinical applications of these findings in the context of chronic disease management and gastrointestinal health.

文摘Endometrial injury caused by intrauterine procedures can result in infertility and recurrent miscarriages,and the current clinical treatments are inadequate for effective endometrial repair.The implantation of anti-adhesion hydrogels combined with growth factors is a promising strategy to address endometrial injury.Insulin-like growth factor 1 is closely associated with endometrial growth and plays a crucial role in endometrial receptivity that is essential for fertility.However,its high cost,environmental sensitivity,and short biological half-life limit its practical applications.In this study,we developed a two-component peptide-based hydrogel consisting of a biotinylated peptide and an insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF-1)mimetic peptide,both of which were designed with self-assembly capabilities.The resultant hydrogel exhibited significant mechanical properties and retained its native IGF-1 bioactivity.In vivo experiments demonstrated that the hydrogel significantly facilitated proliferation and vascular restoration.Additionally,it effectively reduced fibrosis by decreasing collagen accumulation,restoring the expression of progesterone receptors,and enhancing endometrial receptivity,which are crucial for embryo implantation.These findings highlight the potential of the two-component peptide-based hydrogel as an innovative therapeutic approach for treating endometrial injury.

文摘This paper presents a method for aspect based sentiment classification tasks, named convolutional multi-head self-attention memory network(CMA-Mem Net). This is an improved model based on memory networks, and makes it possible to extract more rich and complex semantic information from sequences and aspects. In order to fix the memory network’s inability to capture context-related information on a word-level,we propose utilizing convolution to capture n-gram grammatical information. We use multi-head self-attention to make up for the problem where the memory network ignores the semantic information of the sequence itself. Meanwhile, unlike most recurrent neural network(RNN) long short term memory(LSTM), gated recurrent unit(GRU) models, we retain the parallelism of the network. We experiment on the open datasets Sem Eval-2014 Task 4 and Sem Eval-2016 Task 6. Compared with some popular baseline methods, our model performs excellently.
文摘Objectives: We introduce a special form of the Generalized Poisson Distribution. The distribution has one parameter, yet it has a variance that is larger than the mean a phenomenon known as “over dispersion”. We discuss potential applications of the distribution as a model of counts, and under the assumption of independence we will perform statistical inference on the ratio of two means, with generalization to testing the homogeneity of several means. Methods: Bayesian methods depend on the choice of the prior distributions of the population parameters. In this paper, we describe a Bayesian approach for estimation and inference on the parameters of several independent Inflated Poisson (IPD) distributions with two possible priors, the first is the reciprocal of the square root of the Poisson parameter and the other is a conjugate Gamma prior. The parameters of Gamma distribution are estimated in the empirical Bayesian framework using the maximum likelihood (ML) solution using nonlinear mixed model (NLMIXED) in SAS. With these priors we construct the highest posterior confidence intervals on the ratio of two IPD parameters and test the homogeneity of several populations. Results: We encountered convergence problem in estimating the hyperparameters of the posterior distribution using the NLMIXED. However, direct maximization of the predictive density produced solutions to the maximum likelihood equations. We apply the methodologies to RNA-SEQ read count data of gene expression values.
文摘The Helicobacter pylori vacuolating cytotoxin (VacA) is an intracellular, mitochondrial-targeting exotoxin that rapidly causes mitochondrial dysfunction and fragmentation. Although VacA targeting of mitochondria has been reported to alter overall cellular metabolism, there is little known about the consequences of extended exposure to the toxin. Here, we describe studies to address this gap in knowledge, which have revealed that mitochondrial dysfunction and fragmentation are followed by a time-dependent recovery of mitochondrial structure, mitochondrial transmembrane potential, and cellular ATP levels. Cells exposed to VacA also initially demonstrated a reduction in oxidative phosphorylation, as well as increase in compensatory aerobic glycolysis. These metabolic alterations were reversed in cells with limited toxin exposure, congruent with the recovery of mitochondrial transmembrane potential and the absence of cytochrome c release from the mitochondria. Taken together, these results are consistent with a model that mitochondrial structure and function are restored in VacA-intoxicated cells.
文摘Background: Neuromuscular choristoma is a rare benign peripheral neuropathy composed of ectopic mature muscle fibers and nerve bundles, usually involving large nerve roots or trunks, such as brachial plexus and sciatic nerve. NMC usually occurs in childhood, and some cases are congenital. Here, we report a case of adult orbital intraconal NMC. The resected specimens were fish-like and tough. Histological pathology suggested that the specimen was composed of mature skeletal muscle tissue interspersed with peripheral nerve bundles. Histopathological examination revealed that the left orbital mass was composed of mature skeletal muscle tissue interspersed with surrounding nerve fascicles. Immunohistochemistry: S-100 protein was positive. In general, postoperative histopathological examination ultimately determined the diagnosis of NMC in the intraconal region of the orbital muscle. Case Presentation: A 51-year-old female patient was admitted to the hospital due to periocular pain for 2 weeks. Orbital CT scan showed an irregular soft tissue density in the left orbital muscle cone area, and the boundary between the local and the left lateral rectus muscle was unclear. Magnetic resonance imaging showed that there was an oval abnormal signal in the posterior lateral space of the left eyeball, with a clear edge and a size of about 22 mm × 8 mm. The boundary between the local area and the left lateral rectus muscle was unclear, and the optic nerve was compressed to the right side. The T1 WI showed low signal, T2-FS showed high and low mixed signal, and the enhanced scan showed continuous obvious enhancement. Eventually, the patient underwent surgical resection of the lesion. Conclusions: NMC is a rare benign peripheral neuropathy, especially NMC in the orbital muscle cone. There is no specificity in clinical and imaging examinations. Accurate diagnosis before surgical resection is very challenging for clinicians and radiologists. Importantly, we can differentiate orbital NMC from other types of orbital tumors.

文摘We report a three-year-old male child who presented with congenital valvular defects,right ventricular malformation,and initial developmental delay.Genome sequencing showed rare deleterious biallelic missense variants in PLD1.In his parents’second pregnancy,echocardiogram at 13 weeks gestation revealed right-sided cardiac malformations resembling the clinical presentation of the family’s first child.Targeted DNA analysis showed that the fetus carried the same biallelic PLD1 variants as their older sibling.This case helps to further delineate the clinical spectrum of PLD1-related defects and highlights the value of both genome sequencing in congenital heart disease and early fetal echocardiography to establish phenotype.

文摘Insufficient radiofrequency ablation(IRFA)of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)leads to alterations in epigenetic properties such as N^(6)-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)RNA methylation in tumor cells,which creates an immune-suppressive tumor microenvironment capable of promoting residual tumor growth and recurrence and affecting the efficacy of RFA.In this study,the constructed STM-Mn@OMVs,which were produced through the rational functionalisation of bacterial-derived OMVs with Mn^(2+)ions and the methylation inhibitor STM2457,were found to effectively activate antitumor immunity.Our study shows that STM-Mn@OMVs can effectively promote dendritic cells(DCs)maturation,T cell activation,and STING pathway activation after endocytosis by cells,thus promoting immune cell infiltration.The STM-Mn@OMVs were able to promote cellular pyroptosis and synergistically activate the STING pathway.Furthermore,STM-Mn@OMVs promoted the increase of M1 macrophage phenotype in tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs)by reducing the infiltration of immunosuppressive cell populations such as regulatory T cells(Tregs)and myeloid-derived suppressor cells(MDSCs),thus reversing the suppressive immune microenvironment after IRFA to some extent.Ultimately,the growth of residual tumors was inhibited.In addition,the biosafety of STM-Mn@OMVs was demonstrated in this study.Therefore,the STM-Mn@OMVs constructed in this study have great potential for application in the field of RFA and immunotherapy for HCC.
文摘This study uses conversational and membership categorization analyses to explore how Piers Morgan and Bassem Youssef locally employ sequential orga-nization and embodied social categorization work to frame public discourse around accountability and condemnation in the 2023 Israel-Gaza war(IGW).The study ex-plores how specific membership categorization devices,categories,category-bound activities,and predicates construct and challenge social structures and interactional processes in political discourse.This study delves into the embodied categorical practices that recognize or produce social action and local accomplishments of social organizations to identify the normative power of categorization in prompting moral evaluations.Using ethnomethodology,it illustrates how social order is achieved through situated accomplishments of members’practical actions and reasoning,using linguistic devices and commonsense knowledge in face-to-face news interviews.The findings indicate that through multimodal resources–voice,ges-tures,and body language–both Morgan and Youssef invoke and negotiate moral categories that frame perspectives on the Israeli-Arab conflict,highlighting dynamics of aggression,dehumanization,and social justice.They mobilize and enact membership categories through activities,predicates,and attributes that resonate with notions of morality and social justice.Contributing to the literature on multi-modal organizational studies in political communication,this study addresses the underexplored role of multimodal interactional resources in the situated construc-tion and challenge of social and moral categories to shape public perceptions of complex conflicts.
文摘Technological advances in biotechnology are transforming food production and redefining the link between nutrition,health,and sustainability.From traditional fermentation to genome editing,these tools enable the creation of functional foods that enhance well-being and reduce environmental impact.Historically,low-energy fermentation methods improved the nutritional quality and preservation of foods while supporting gut and metabolic health.Today,emerging fields such as synthetic biology,precision fermentation,microbiome engineering,and artificial intelligence are accelerating innovation in personalised and nutritional approaches that complement conventional diets.These approaches can upcycle agricultural by-products,generate bioactive compounds,and mitigate chronic diseases through targeted microbial or molecular interventions.The purpose of this narrative review is to evaluate the role of biotechnology in developing functional foods that promote health and sustainability.Specifically,it examines how fermentation,biofortification,waste valorisation,and genome editing contribute to metabolic,immune,and cognitive health while supporting environmentally responsible food systems.By integrating traditional food wisdom with modern biosciences,this review highlights biotechnology’s potential to bridge health promotion,sustainability,and innovation in the next generation of functional foods.

文摘Iodine is widely acknowledged for its potent antimicrobial properties.However,its clinical utility is often hampered by its unsatisfactory stability,uncontrolled release of active iodine and toxicity in moist environments.In this study,we report a novel iodine-containing hydrogel(I_(2)@Nap-FFGP)designed for sustained iodine delivery under humid physiological and pathological conditions.I_(2)@Nap-FFGP was fabricated using a self-assembling peptide-based hydrogel containing a proline motif to form a stable iodine complex.The resulting hydrogel exhibited excellent biocompatibility and robust antibacterial effect,it significantly inhibited bacteria-associated endometrial infections in mice and effectively alleviated inflammation.Moreover,the hydrogel successfully restored endometrial architecture and function.Notably,I_(2)@Nap-FFGP remarkably improved pregnancy rates in mice with endometritis owing to its therapeutic effects.Our findings highlight the potential of this innovative hydrogel system for stable iodine application under humid and aqueous physiological conditions,offering a promising platform for future antibacterial therapies in clinical settings.

文摘Chemotherapy serves as the primary therapeutic approach for triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC),yet its efficacy remains unsatisfactory.This study was a single-arm,open-label,single-center clinical trial(NCT05447702)involving patients with newly diagnosed stage Ⅱ-Ⅲ TNBC at West China Hospital.The treatment regimen consisted of camrelizumab(200 mg intravenously every 2 weeks,12 cycles),apatinib(250 mg orally daily),and alternating chemotherapy[nab-paclitaxel(d1,8,15 every 4 weeks)for 4 cycles and epirubicin plus cyclophosphamide(every 2 weeks)for 4 cycles].From June 2023 to April 2024,35 patients were enrolled,of whom 1 patient withdrew due to adverse reaction intolerance.At treatment completion,the total pathological complete response(tpCR,ypT0/is,ypN0)rate was 67.6%(23/34),and the breast pCR(ypT0/is)rate was 70.6%(24/34).The overall response rate following neoadjuvant treatment reached 94.1%(32/34).

文摘The electromagnetic radiation will result in informa- tion leakage being recovered when computers work. This article presents a high-speed real-time data acquisition system based on peripheral component interconnect (PCI) bus and field programmable gate array (FPGA) for sampling electromagnetic radiation caused by video signal. The hardware design and controlling flow of each module are introduced in detail. The sampling rate can reach 64 Msps and system transfers speed can be up to 128 Mb/s by using time interleaving, which increases the overall sampling speed of a system by operating two data converters in parallel.
文摘Smart antenna technology is introduced to wireless mesh networks. Smart antennas based wider-range access medium access control (MAC) protocol (SWAMP) is used as MAC protocol for IEEE 802.11 mesh networks in this study. The calculation method of node throughput in chain and arbitrary topology is proposed under nodes fairness guarantee. Network scale and interference among nodes are key factors that influence node throughput. Node distribution pattern near the gateway also affects the node throughput. Experiment based on network simulator-2 (NS-2) simulation platform compares node throughput between smart antenna scenario and omni-antenna scenario. As smart antenna technology reduces the bottle collision domain, node throughput increases observably.

文摘A new ultra-wide band (UWB) modulation scheme called L-ary ultra-wide band time hopping multi-pulse position modulation (UWB-TH-MPPM) is proposed for high data-rate wireless application, which can provide better communication performance. The constant weight code is introduced to construct the MPPM signal and the comparison between MPPM and single pulse position modulation (SPPM) is done in three aspects, namely, power efficiency, bandwidth efficiency, and probability of symbol error, respectively. The theoretical analysis and the numerical results show that when the constant weight code is appropriately chosen, MPPM can achieve lower probability of symbol error and higher power efficiency than SPPM at the cost of more bandwidth under the same condition. The proposed MPPM can be a good candidate in UWB system design.

文摘A kind of dual-band-stop filter with an unsymmetrical T-shape defected ground structure (DGS) is proposed. The filter has two band gap centers at 4.9 GHz and 7.35 GHz, respectively, where the two centre frequencies are just the second and third harmonics 2.45 GHz. The filters with high band-stop performance and wideband spurious suppression can be achieved by cascading miniaturized unsymmetrical T-shape DGS. The attenuation of three-cascaded T-shape DGS filter is 30.77 dB at 4.9 GHz and 17.96 dB at 7.35 GHz respectively. The above experimental results are in good agreement with the simulation results, especially for the third harmonic.

文摘The International Standard Chinese-English Basic Nomenclature of Chinese medicine(ISN) was released in 2007,a nomenclature list consisting of 6 500 Chinese medical terms.ISN was the culmination of several years of collaborative diligent work of over 200 specialists who represent Chinese medicine in 68 countries.The overall goal for devising standard English nomenclature for Chinese medicine is to develop a practical international standard nomenclature for Chinese medical basic terms,to make it compatible with contemporary research and educational standards in the globalized health care service.In this article,provided is an overview of principles and methods for the multilingual translations,the processes behind the particular content of the Chinese-English ISN and an introduction to the ongoing new projects,i.e.the multilingual versions of ISN(International Standards of Chinese-Spanish,Chinese-French and Chinese-Portuguese Basic Nomenclature of Chinese Medicine).
