The 105 eyes were examined by ophthalmoscopeand fluorescing in angiography and divided into there groups: 22 eyes with DM withoutDR(NDR), 56 eyes with background DR(BDR)and 27 eyes with proliferate DR(PDR).In addition, 30 eyes were regard as normal control group(NCG) . We used VATA-2000type vision electrophysiological instrument and inter-national standard for clinical ERG todo measure meat and recording automatically by computer. Results: 1. The proportion of eyes number of invisible wave of a-wave, b-wave of F-ERGand Ops increased with the development of DR. 2. There were significant differences ( P< 0. 01 )in the latency of a-wave between NCG and BDR and statistical significance (P< 0. 05)between BDR and NDR. There were significant differences( P < 0. 01)in theamplitude of b-wave among NCG and BDR, NCG and PDR, NDR and BDR, NDR andPDR. 3. The total amplitudes of Ops lowered with progressions of DR. There weresignificant differences(P < 0.01)in tota amplitudes of Ops between NCG and NDR,NCG and BDR, NDR and BDR, statistical signficance(P < 0.05) between NDR andPDR. 4. There was no correlation between each index and the duration of the disease(P < 0.05).Conclusion: The amplitude of a-wave, b-wave, and total amplitudes are the targets forearly diagnosis of DR. The combined analyses of the three indexes of ERG can determinethe severity, curative effect, and prognosis of the disease.展开更多

A current study shows that leukemia inhibitoryfactor (LIF), a homologue of OSM, can prevent photoreceptor cell death when expressedin the lens of transgenic mice. We determined the efforts of lens-specific overexpressionof OSM on the development of eye. Methods: A truncated mouse OSM cDNA ( ~ 660 bp) was linked to the αA-crytallinpromoter, and injected into single-cell embryos with microinjection. Then, transgenic micewere established. The mRNA expression of transgene OSM was detected by in situhybridization. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of syntaxin, glialfibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), synaptophysin in the retinas of transgenic mice. Results: At embryonic day (E 17.5), the expression of the syntaxin at the inner and midportion of the retinas of transgenic mice was much higher than that of the retinas ofnon-transgenic mice. The expression of GFAP was detected in the retinas of transgenicmice, while no expression in non-transgenic normal FVB(FVB/N) mice was detected inthis stage. At postnatal day one (P1), the expression of synaptophysin was detected inthe retinas of transgenic mice, but there was no such expression in FVB/N mice. Conclusions: Lens-specific overexpression of OSM induces premature differentiation ofamacrine cells, gial cells, and photoreceptors in vivo.展开更多

The analgesic effect was analysed with visual analogue pain scale. Results: Among all of 357 eyes, 62 eyes underwent peripheral iridectomy, 67 eyes underwent simple trabeculectomy, 167 eyes underwent compound brabeculectomy and 12 eyes nonpenetrating trabecular surgery. The effects of anesthesia were as follows: 304 eyes(85.2%) were painless (Grade I ), 50 eyes (14.0%) were slight painful (Grade Ⅱ ), and 3 eyes (0.8%) were more painful (Grade Ⅲ ) during surgery. And no severe complications were observed in all the cases during surgery and postoperatively. Amaurosis fugax was not observed in the glaucoma patients at the late stage with narrow visual fields and poor visual ability. Conclusion: Topical anesthesia combined with subconjunctival anesthesia is effective, safe and simple anesthesia alternative in routine anti-glaucomatous surgery, especially for the glaucoma patients at the late stage with narrow visual fields and poor visual ability. It is worthy of being applied widely.展开更多
