Higher education is transitioning from mass expansion to high-quality development.In this process,mental health issues among college students have become increasingly prominent,encompassing not only academic stress-in...Higher education is transitioning from mass expansion to high-quality development.In this process,mental health issues among college students have become increasingly prominent,encompassing not only academic stress-induced anxiety but also complex challenges such as interpersonal adaptation difficulties and career planning confusion.Traditional“problem-oriented”intervention models have shown limitations in responsiveness and adaptability,often only passively addressing existing psychological crises rather than preventing them in advance.This study aims to explore an AI-powered“positive psychology”proactive intervention model through developing an intelligent system.The system automatically collects,filters,and personalizes recommendations for positive activities on campus.Using a randomized controlled trial design,we conducted an 8-week intervention study involving 126 college students at a university.The study found that AI-based“campus positive activity”recommendations effectively boost students’positive emotions and promote psychological capital development through cumulative micro-interventions.This provides universities with empirical evidence and innovative methods to implement low-cost,efficient,and scalable mental health promotion programs through smart technology.展开更多
Background:Adolescent depression and school refusal(SR)are prevalent and important global concerns that need to be understood and addressed.Cross-sectional associations have been reported but prospective relationships...Background:Adolescent depression and school refusal(SR)are prevalent and important global concerns that need to be understood and addressed.Cross-sectional associations have been reported but prospective relationships between them remain unclear.This longitudinal study investigated the bidirectional relationships between these two problems among Chinese adolescents.Methods:A longitudinal study was conducted in Taizhou,China,surveying students of three junior high schools,three senior high schools,and one vocational high school.A total of 3882 students completed the questionnaire at baseline(T1);3167 of them completed an identical follow-up questionnaire after 6 months(T2).Depression was assessed via the Patient Health Questionnaire(PHQ-9)and SR via the modified Chinese version of The School Refusal Assessment Scale-Revised(SRAS-R).Cross-lagged panel modeling(CLPM)analysis was conducted to test the reciprocal relationships,adjusting for socio-demographic factors.Multiple group analysis was conducted to test whether the CLPM differed by gender and grade.Results:Statistically significant bidirectional relationships were found.A higher level of SR assessed at T1 is prospectively associated with a higher level of depression at T2(β=0.07,p=0.006);a higher level of depression at T1 also is prospectively associated with a higher level of SR at T2(β=0.14,p<0.001).Such models differed significantly by neither gender nor grade.Conclusion:SR and depression should be seen as each other’s mutually reinforcing association.The bidirectional relationships potentially result in a vicious cycle.Early interventions may target both problems concurrently.Future studies may involve more time points and test some mediators.展开更多
In order to achieve combined mechanical and electrical properties,multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs)reinforced Cu/Ti_(3)SiC_(2)/C nanocomposites were further processed by high-pressure torsion(HPT).The maximum micr...In order to achieve combined mechanical and electrical properties,multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs)reinforced Cu/Ti_(3)SiC_(2)/C nanocomposites were further processed by high-pressure torsion(HPT).The maximum microhardness values of central and edge from the composites with 1 wt.%MWCNTs reached HV 130.0 and HV 363.5,which were 43.9%and 39.5%higher than those of the original samples,respectively.With the same content of MWCNTs,its electrical conductivity achieved 3.42×10^(7) S/m,which was increased by 78.1%compared with that of original samples.The synergistic improvement of mechanical and electrical properties is attributed to the obtained microstructure with increased homogenization and refinement,as well as improved interfacial bonding and reduced porosity.The strengthening mechanisms include dispersion and refinement strengthening for mechanical properties,as well as reduced electron scattering for electrical properties.展开更多

Sweet cherry(Prunus avium L.)is a stone fruit widely consumed and appreciated for its organoleptic properties,as well as its nutraceutical potential.We here investigated the characteristics of six non-commercial Tusca...Sweet cherry(Prunus avium L.)is a stone fruit widely consumed and appreciated for its organoleptic properties,as well as its nutraceutical potential.We here investigated the characteristics of six non-commercial Tuscan varieties of sweet cherry maintained at the Regional Germplasm Bank of the CNR-IBE in Follonica(Italy)and sampled ca.60 days post-anthesis over three consecutive years(2016-2017-2018).We adopted an approach merging genotyping and targeted gene expression profiling with metabolomics.To complement the data,a study of the soluble proteomes was also performed on two varieties showing the highest content of flavonoids.Metabolomics identified the presence of flavanols and proanthocyanidins in highest abundance in the varieties Morellona and Crognola,while gene expression revealed that some differences were present in genes involved in the phenylpropanoid pathway during the 3 years and among the varieties.Finally,proteomics on Morellona and Crognola showed variations in proteins involved in stress response,primary metabolism and cell wall expansion.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first multi-pronged study focused on Tuscan sweet cherry varieties providing insights into the differential abundance of genes,proteins and metabolites.展开更多

This grass is suitable for multipurpose use, providing forage, bioethanol feedstock and phytoremediation of cadmium (Cd) contaminated soil in Kyushu, Japan. When two cultivars of Napier grass (Wruk wona, WK and Merkeron, ME) were grown in Cd-contaminated soils, dry matter yield and the concentration and uptake of herbage Cd were higher in WK than in ME, and soil Cd concentration was reduced by 14% in a single season of cultivation. A dwarf variety of late-heading type (DL), Napier grass had superior sustainability for more than 5 years in Miyazaki, Japan, and has gradually increased in cultivation areas for both cut-and-carry and grazing herbage production in cooperation with regional communities. Through the extension in several Kyushu areas, DL Napier grass required temperatures above -6.2 ~C for sustainability in winter, based on its threshold response to the lethal minimum temperature. DL Napier grass pasture can be utilized by grazing beef cattle even in early spring with temperate Italian ryegrass inter-sown into its inter-row spaces. Organic digested animal manure or sun-dried leguminous leaves as green manure can replace chemical fertilizers to reduce energy consumption and allow comparable productivity.展开更多
Unveiling the molecular mechanisms underlying rotavirus replication and pathogenesis has been hampered by the lack of a reverse genetics(RG)system in the past.Since 2017,multiple plasmid-based RG systems for simian,hu...Unveiling the molecular mechanisms underlying rotavirus replication and pathogenesis has been hampered by the lack of a reverse genetics(RG)system in the past.Since 2017,multiple plasmid-based RG systems for simian,human,and murine-like rotaviruses have been established.However,none of the described methods have supported the recovery of bovine rotaviruses(BRVs).Here,we established an optimized plasmid-based RG system for BRV culture-adapted strain(BRV G10P[15]BLR)and clinical isolates(BRV G6P[1]C73,G10P[11]HM26)based on a BHK-T7 cell clone stably expressing T7 polymerase.Furthermore,using this optimized RG system,we successfully rescued the reporter virus BRV rC73/Zs,rHM26/Zs and rBLR/Zs,harboring a genetically modified 1.8-kb segment 7 encoding full-length nonstructural protein 3(NSP3)fused to ZsGreen,a 232-amino acid green fluorescent protein.Analysis of the stability of genomic insertions showed that the rC73/Zs and rBLR/Zs replicated efficiently and were genetically stable in seven rounds of serial passaging,while rHM26/Zs can be stabilized only up to the third generation,indicating that the BRV segment composition may influence the viral fitness.In addition,we adopted the recombinant reporter viruses for high-throughput screening application and discovered 12 candidates out of 1440 compounds with potential antiviral activities against rotavirus.In summary,this improved RG system of BRVs represents an important tool with great potential for understanding the molecular biology of BRV and facilitates the development of novel therapeutics and vaccines for BRV.展开更多

In 2005, for what was pr...The role of beta2-microglobulin(β2M) in dialysisrelated amyloidosis as a specific amyloid precursor was defined in the 1980 s. Studies in those years were largely related to β2M amyloidosis. In 2005, for what was probably the first time in the available literature, we provided data about the association betweenβ2M and early-onset atherosclerosis in hemodialysis patients without co-morbidities. In recent years, the role of uremic toxins in uremic atherosclerosis and the interest in β2M as a marker of cardiovascular(CV) and/or mortality risk have grown. In the current literature,clinical studies suggest that β2M is an independent, significant predictor of mortality, not only in dialysis patients, but also in predialysis patients and in the highrisk portion of the general population, and it seems to be a factor strongly linked to the presence and severity of CV disease. It is still unknown whether β2M is only a uremic toxin marker or if it also has an active role in vascular damage, but data support that it may reflect an increased burden of systemic atherosclerosis in a setting of underlying chronic kidney disease. Thus, although there have been some inconsistencies among the various analyses relating to β2M, it promises to be a novel risk marker of kidney function in the awareness and detection of high-risk patients. However, more research is required to establish the pathophysiological relationships between retained uremic toxins and further biochemical modifications in the uremic milieu to get answers to the questions of why and how. In this review, the recent literature about the changing role of β2M in uremic patients will be examined.展开更多

However, few reports hav...BACKGROUND: Aquaporin-4 (AQP-4) over-expression following cerebral ischemia results in cerebral edema. Picroside Ⅱ has been shown to exhibit a neuroprotective effect on neuronal apoptosis. However, few reports have addressed the neuroprotective mechanisms and therapeutic times following cerebral ischemic reperfusion injury. OBJECTIVE: To explore the neuroprotective effects and ideal treatment window for picroside Ⅱ treatment of middle cerebral artery occlusion and reperfusion injury in rats. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING; A randomized, controlled, animal experiment was performed at Institute of Cerebrovascular Diseases, Qingdao University Medical College from September 2008 to May 2009. MATERIALS: Picroside II was purchased from Tianjin Kuiqing Medical Technology, China. METHODS: A total of 165 adult, healthy, male, Wistar rats were randomly assigned to sham-surgery (n = 15), model (n = 75), and treatment groups (n = 75). Rats in the model and treatment groups underwent middle cerebral artery occlusion and reperfusion through the use of an intraluminal monofilament suture on the left external-internal carotid artery, The treatment group was injected with 1.0% picroside Ⅱ (10 mg/kg) into the tail vein, and the model and sham-surgery groups were injected with 0.1 mol/L phosphate buffered saline (250 μL). MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Neurological functional scores were evaluated using the Longa's method; cerebral infarction volume was detected through the use of tetrazolium chlodde staining; cellular apoptosis was determined through the use of the in situ end-labeling method; aquaporin-4 expression was measured using fluorescence labeling analysis and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction technique. RESULTS: At 0.5 hour following cerebral ischemic injury, neurological functional scores were low, and a small infarction focus was detected in the ischemic cortex of the model group. Along with prolonged ischemia and an increased number of apoptosis-positive cells, AQP-4 mRNA and protein expression was increased. At 1-2 hours after ischemia, neurological scores and infarction sizes were significantly increased in the model group. Apoptotic-positive cells were widespread in the ipsilateral cortex and stdatum. In addition, AQP-4 mRNA and protein expression levels were increased. Picroside II treatment significantly decreased neurological scores and infarction volume, and reduced AQP-4 mRNA and protein expression levels compared with the model group (P 〈 0.05 or P 〈 0.01). At 1 hour after ischemia, the therapeutic effect of picroside Ⅱ was notable (P 〈 0.01). CONCLUSION: Picroside Ⅱ played a protective role in cerebral ischemic reperfusion injury by inhibiting apoptosis and regulating AQP-4 expression. The best therapeutic time window was 1 hour after cerebral ischemic reperfusion.展开更多

Objective:This study investigated trends in the study of phytochemical treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD).Methods:The Web of Science database(2007-2022)was searched using the search terms“phytochemical...Objective:This study investigated trends in the study of phytochemical treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD).Methods:The Web of Science database(2007-2022)was searched using the search terms“phytochemicals”and“PTSD,”and relevant literature was compiled.Network clustering co-occurrence analysis and qualitative narrative review were conducted.Results:Three hundred and one articles were included in the analysis of published research,which has surged since 2015 with nearly half of all relevant articles coming from North America.The category is dominated by neuroscience and neurology,with two journals,Addictive Behaviors and Drug and Alcohol Dependence,publishing the greatest number of papers on these topics.Most studies focused on psychedelic intervention for PTSD.Three timelines show an“ebb and flow”phenomenon between“substance use/marijuana abuse”and“psychedelic medicine/medicinal cannabis.”Other phytochemicals account for a small proportion of the research and focus on topics like neurosteroid turnover,serotonin levels,and brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression.Conclusion:Research on phytochemicals and PTSD is unevenly distributed across countries/regions,disciplines,and journals.Since 2015,the research paradigm shifted to constitute the mainstream of psychedelic research thus far,leading to the exploration of botanical active ingredients and molecular mechanisms.Other studies focus on anti-oxidative stress and anti-inflammation.展开更多

The influences of wall thickness and initiation position on the expansion uniformity of armature in HFCG were experimentally investigated. The results show that the armature with thinner wall thickness will easily rupture due to the high pressure of detonation products inside, the armature with larger wall thickness will easily crack due to the tensile stress on the outer surface of the wall, the influence of the end effect on the expansion uniformity can be ignored if the distance between the first group of probe and the initiation point is more than 3 times the armature diameter.展开更多

Self-adaptive software(SAS)is gaining popularity as it can reconfigure itself in response to the dynamic changes in the operational context or itself.However,early modeling and formal analysis of SAS systems becomes i...Self-adaptive software(SAS)is gaining popularity as it can reconfigure itself in response to the dynamic changes in the operational context or itself.However,early modeling and formal analysis of SAS systems becomes increasingly difficult,as the system scale and complexity is rapidly increasing.To tackle the modeling difficulty of SAS systems,we present a refinement-based modeling and verification approach called Easy Model.Easy Model integrates the intuitive Unified Modeling Language(UML)model with the stepwise refinement Event-B model.Concretely,EasyModel:1)creates a UML profile called AdaptML that provides an explicit description of SAS characteristics,2)proposes a refinement modeling mechanism for SAS systems that can deal with system modeling complexity,3)offers a model transformation approach and bridges the gap between the design model and the formal model of SAS systems,and 4)provides an efficient way to verify and guarantee the correct behaviour of SAS systems.To validate EasyModel,we present an example application and a subject-based experiment.The results demonstrate that EasyModel can effectively reduce the modeling and formal verification difficulty of SAS systems,and can incorporate the intuitive merit of UML and the correct-by-const ruction merit of Event-B.展开更多
The advancement of more precise tools for sustainable process design in enzymatic biodiesel synthesis from renewable sources is crucial.Kinetics of solvent-free transesterification reactions were conducted across a te...The advancement of more precise tools for sustainable process design in enzymatic biodiesel synthesis from renewable sources is crucial.Kinetics of solvent-free transesterification reactions were conducted across a temperature spectrum from 30℃ to 60℃,utilizing Jatropha curcas oil(TG)and ethanol as substrates,alongside a fermented solid by Rhizopus homothallicus as the biocatalyst.The dynamics of chemical species concentrations were monitored through High-performance Thin-Layer Chromatography.Maximum productivities were ach-ieved at 35℃ and 60℃ for biodiesel(293.24 and 299.02 g kg biocat^(-1) h^(-1),respectively),at 40℃ for di-glycerides(1018.36 g kg biocat^(-1) h^(-1)),and at 35℃ for monoglycerides(560.75 g kg biocat^(-1) h^(-1)).Maximum yields were determined at 30℃ for fatty acid ethyl esters(0.56 g gTG^(-1)),and at 40℃ for diglycerides(0.53 g gTG^(-1))and monoglycerides(0.30 g gTG^(-1)).Based on the experimental findings,a kinetic model was formulated encompassing three reversible transesterification reactions.Individual reactions were structured following classical biochemical kinetics,inclusive of ethanol inhibition.Model fitting was executed through non-linear multivariable regression techniques,with the minimum of the average coefficient of variation of the residuals(ACVR)serving as the objective function.The resulting fit of the kinetic model to the experimental data proved satisfactory,with an ACVR of less than 5%across all instances.Notably,the maximum biodiesel productivity,obtained in this work,represented the highest value,compared to other related studies,using a fermented solid as a biocatalyst.展开更多
The embryo spot trait leads to a deep purple or reddish coloration at the base of the cotyledons of the embryo,visible on both sides of flat potato(Solanum tuberosum)seeds.This trait has long been used by potato resea...The embryo spot trait leads to a deep purple or reddish coloration at the base of the cotyledons of the embryo,visible on both sides of flat potato(Solanum tuberosum)seeds.This trait has long been used by potato researchers and breeders as a morphological marker during dihaploid induction.The formation of embryo spots reflects the accumulation of anthocyanins,but the genetic basis of this trait remains unclear.In this study,we mapped the embryo spot trait to a 6.78-Mb region at the end of chromosome 10 using an F2 population derived from a cross between spotted and spotless plants.The recombination rate in the candidate region is severely suppressed,posing challenges for the map-based cloning of the underlying gene and suggesting large-scale rearrangements in this region.A de novo genome assembly of the spotted individual and a comparative genomic analysis to the reference genome of spotless potato revealed a 6.49-Mb inversion present in the spotted plant genome.The left breakpoint of this inversion occurred in the promoter region of an R2R3 MYB transcription factor gene that is highly expressed in the cotyledon base of spotted embryos but is not expressed in that of spotless embryos.This study elucidated the genetic basis for embryo spot formation in potato and provides a foundation for future cloning of the causative gene.展开更多
The Global Wheat Head Detection(GWHD)dataset was created in 2020 and has assembled 193,634 labelled wheat heads from 4700 RGB images acquired from various acquisition platforms and 7 countries/institutions.With an ass...The Global Wheat Head Detection(GWHD)dataset was created in 2020 and has assembled 193,634 labelled wheat heads from 4700 RGB images acquired from various acquisition platforms and 7 countries/institutions.With an associated competition hosted in Kaggle,GWHD_2020 has successfully attracted attention from both the computer vision and agricultural science communities.From this first experience,a few avenues for improvements have been identified regarding data size,head diversity,and label reliability.To address these issues,the 2020 dataset has been reexamined,relabeled,and complemented by adding 1722 images from 5 additional countries,allowing for 81,553 additional wheat heads.We now release in 2021 a new version of the Global Wheat Head Detection dataset,which is bigger,more diverse,and less noisy than the GWHD_2020 version.展开更多

文摘Background:Adolescent depression and school refusal(SR)are prevalent and important global concerns that need to be understood and addressed.Cross-sectional associations have been reported but prospective relationships between them remain unclear.This longitudinal study investigated the bidirectional relationships between these two problems among Chinese adolescents.Methods:A longitudinal study was conducted in Taizhou,China,surveying students of three junior high schools,three senior high schools,and one vocational high school.A total of 3882 students completed the questionnaire at baseline(T1);3167 of them completed an identical follow-up questionnaire after 6 months(T2).Depression was assessed via the Patient Health Questionnaire(PHQ-9)and SR via the modified Chinese version of The School Refusal Assessment Scale-Revised(SRAS-R).Cross-lagged panel modeling(CLPM)analysis was conducted to test the reciprocal relationships,adjusting for socio-demographic factors.Multiple group analysis was conducted to test whether the CLPM differed by gender and grade.Results:Statistically significant bidirectional relationships were found.A higher level of SR assessed at T1 is prospectively associated with a higher level of depression at T2(β=0.07,p=0.006);a higher level of depression at T1 also is prospectively associated with a higher level of SR at T2(β=0.14,p<0.001).Such models differed significantly by neither gender nor grade.Conclusion:SR and depression should be seen as each other’s mutually reinforcing association.The bidirectional relationships potentially result in a vicious cycle.Early interventions may target both problems concurrently.Future studies may involve more time points and test some mediators.

文摘In order to achieve combined mechanical and electrical properties,multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs)reinforced Cu/Ti_(3)SiC_(2)/C nanocomposites were further processed by high-pressure torsion(HPT).The maximum microhardness values of central and edge from the composites with 1 wt.%MWCNTs reached HV 130.0 and HV 363.5,which were 43.9%and 39.5%higher than those of the original samples,respectively.With the same content of MWCNTs,its electrical conductivity achieved 3.42×10^(7) S/m,which was increased by 78.1%compared with that of original samples.The synergistic improvement of mechanical and electrical properties is attributed to the obtained microstructure with increased homogenization and refinement,as well as improved interfacial bonding and reduced porosity.The strengthening mechanisms include dispersion and refinement strengthening for mechanical properties,as well as reduced electron scattering for electrical properties.

文摘Recently,InE has been regarded as a popular education strategy in Chinese universities.However,problems have been exposed in the adoption of InE,for example,in InE courses and competitions.The purpose of this paper is to provide a possible solution to the problems,which is to organize effective InE courses by integrating InE with Inter-Course-level Problem-Based Learning(ICPBL).A detailed case is demonstrated by an ICPBL elective course design with deep integration of InE in the teaching,learning,and assessments.This paper contributes to a new curriculum design for promoting InE education in practically for Chinese universities.
文摘Sweet cherry(Prunus avium L.)is a stone fruit widely consumed and appreciated for its organoleptic properties,as well as its nutraceutical potential.We here investigated the characteristics of six non-commercial Tuscan varieties of sweet cherry maintained at the Regional Germplasm Bank of the CNR-IBE in Follonica(Italy)and sampled ca.60 days post-anthesis over three consecutive years(2016-2017-2018).We adopted an approach merging genotyping and targeted gene expression profiling with metabolomics.To complement the data,a study of the soluble proteomes was also performed on two varieties showing the highest content of flavonoids.Metabolomics identified the presence of flavanols and proanthocyanidins in highest abundance in the varieties Morellona and Crognola,while gene expression revealed that some differences were present in genes involved in the phenylpropanoid pathway during the 3 years and among the varieties.Finally,proteomics on Morellona and Crognola showed variations in proteins involved in stress response,primary metabolism and cell wall expansion.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first multi-pronged study focused on Tuscan sweet cherry varieties providing insights into the differential abundance of genes,proteins and metabolites.
文摘Napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schumach), a C4 tropical plant, has high dry matter productivity and sustainability without the need for renovating every year due to good overwintering ability and the absence of serious pathogens or insects injury. This grass is suitable for multipurpose use, providing forage, bioethanol feedstock and phytoremediation of cadmium (Cd) contaminated soil in Kyushu, Japan. When two cultivars of Napier grass (Wruk wona, WK and Merkeron, ME) were grown in Cd-contaminated soils, dry matter yield and the concentration and uptake of herbage Cd were higher in WK than in ME, and soil Cd concentration was reduced by 14% in a single season of cultivation. A dwarf variety of late-heading type (DL), Napier grass had superior sustainability for more than 5 years in Miyazaki, Japan, and has gradually increased in cultivation areas for both cut-and-carry and grazing herbage production in cooperation with regional communities. Through the extension in several Kyushu areas, DL Napier grass required temperatures above -6.2 ~C for sustainability in winter, based on its threshold response to the lethal minimum temperature. DL Napier grass pasture can be utilized by grazing beef cattle even in early spring with temperate Italian ryegrass inter-sown into its inter-row spaces. Organic digested animal manure or sun-dried leguminous leaves as green manure can replace chemical fertilizers to reduce energy consumption and allow comparable productivity.

文摘Unveiling the molecular mechanisms underlying rotavirus replication and pathogenesis has been hampered by the lack of a reverse genetics(RG)system in the past.Since 2017,multiple plasmid-based RG systems for simian,human,and murine-like rotaviruses have been established.However,none of the described methods have supported the recovery of bovine rotaviruses(BRVs).Here,we established an optimized plasmid-based RG system for BRV culture-adapted strain(BRV G10P[15]BLR)and clinical isolates(BRV G6P[1]C73,G10P[11]HM26)based on a BHK-T7 cell clone stably expressing T7 polymerase.Furthermore,using this optimized RG system,we successfully rescued the reporter virus BRV rC73/Zs,rHM26/Zs and rBLR/Zs,harboring a genetically modified 1.8-kb segment 7 encoding full-length nonstructural protein 3(NSP3)fused to ZsGreen,a 232-amino acid green fluorescent protein.Analysis of the stability of genomic insertions showed that the rC73/Zs and rBLR/Zs replicated efficiently and were genetically stable in seven rounds of serial passaging,while rHM26/Zs can be stabilized only up to the third generation,indicating that the BRV segment composition may influence the viral fitness.In addition,we adopted the recombinant reporter viruses for high-throughput screening application and discovered 12 candidates out of 1440 compounds with potential antiviral activities against rotavirus.In summary,this improved RG system of BRVs represents an important tool with great potential for understanding the molecular biology of BRV and facilitates the development of novel therapeutics and vaccines for BRV.
文摘The role of beta2-microglobulin(β2M) in dialysisrelated amyloidosis as a specific amyloid precursor was defined in the 1980 s. Studies in those years were largely related to β2M amyloidosis. In 2005, for what was probably the first time in the available literature, we provided data about the association betweenβ2M and early-onset atherosclerosis in hemodialysis patients without co-morbidities. In recent years, the role of uremic toxins in uremic atherosclerosis and the interest in β2M as a marker of cardiovascular(CV) and/or mortality risk have grown. In the current literature,clinical studies suggest that β2M is an independent, significant predictor of mortality, not only in dialysis patients, but also in predialysis patients and in the highrisk portion of the general population, and it seems to be a factor strongly linked to the presence and severity of CV disease. It is still unknown whether β2M is only a uremic toxin marker or if it also has an active role in vascular damage, but data support that it may reflect an increased burden of systemic atherosclerosis in a setting of underlying chronic kidney disease. Thus, although there have been some inconsistencies among the various analyses relating to β2M, it promises to be a novel risk marker of kidney function in the awareness and detection of high-risk patients. However, more research is required to establish the pathophysiological relationships between retained uremic toxins and further biochemical modifications in the uremic milieu to get answers to the questions of why and how. In this review, the recent literature about the changing role of β2M in uremic patients will be examined.

文摘BACKGROUND: Aquaporin-4 (AQP-4) over-expression following cerebral ischemia results in cerebral edema. Picroside Ⅱ has been shown to exhibit a neuroprotective effect on neuronal apoptosis. However, few reports have addressed the neuroprotective mechanisms and therapeutic times following cerebral ischemic reperfusion injury. OBJECTIVE: To explore the neuroprotective effects and ideal treatment window for picroside Ⅱ treatment of middle cerebral artery occlusion and reperfusion injury in rats. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING; A randomized, controlled, animal experiment was performed at Institute of Cerebrovascular Diseases, Qingdao University Medical College from September 2008 to May 2009. MATERIALS: Picroside II was purchased from Tianjin Kuiqing Medical Technology, China. METHODS: A total of 165 adult, healthy, male, Wistar rats were randomly assigned to sham-surgery (n = 15), model (n = 75), and treatment groups (n = 75). Rats in the model and treatment groups underwent middle cerebral artery occlusion and reperfusion through the use of an intraluminal monofilament suture on the left external-internal carotid artery, The treatment group was injected with 1.0% picroside Ⅱ (10 mg/kg) into the tail vein, and the model and sham-surgery groups were injected with 0.1 mol/L phosphate buffered saline (250 μL). MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Neurological functional scores were evaluated using the Longa's method; cerebral infarction volume was detected through the use of tetrazolium chlodde staining; cellular apoptosis was determined through the use of the in situ end-labeling method; aquaporin-4 expression was measured using fluorescence labeling analysis and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction technique. RESULTS: At 0.5 hour following cerebral ischemic injury, neurological functional scores were low, and a small infarction focus was detected in the ischemic cortex of the model group. Along with prolonged ischemia and an increased number of apoptosis-positive cells, AQP-4 mRNA and protein expression was increased. At 1-2 hours after ischemia, neurological scores and infarction sizes were significantly increased in the model group. Apoptotic-positive cells were widespread in the ipsilateral cortex and stdatum. In addition, AQP-4 mRNA and protein expression levels were increased. Picroside II treatment significantly decreased neurological scores and infarction volume, and reduced AQP-4 mRNA and protein expression levels compared with the model group (P 〈 0.05 or P 〈 0.01). At 1 hour after ischemia, the therapeutic effect of picroside Ⅱ was notable (P 〈 0.01). CONCLUSION: Picroside Ⅱ played a protective role in cerebral ischemic reperfusion injury by inhibiting apoptosis and regulating AQP-4 expression. The best therapeutic time window was 1 hour after cerebral ischemic reperfusion.

文摘Recently,Problem-Based Learning(PBL)has been regarded as a possible way towards effective educational changes in Chinese universities.However,problems have been exposed in the adoption of PBL,such as choosing effective PBL problems.The purpose of this paper is to provide a possible solution to the formulation of PBL problems for computer science courses,which is to reimplement open-source projects(ROSP).A case is demonstrated by showing how ROSP was adopted in a practical intercourse-level PBL course module.This paper contributes to a new PBL problem formulation method for promoting PBL in a practical way for Chinese universities.

文摘High-power precise delay trigger/ignition system is a programmable pulse generator developed for experiment controlling in explosively driven magnetic flux compression generators. Precise delay pulses are generated by the digital circuit, after being magnified and sharpened through multistage isolated amplifiers and rising edge sharpening device, high-voltage steep delay pulses with precision less than μs level are obtained. This system has been used in our compact magnetic flux compression generator experiments in place of the traditional primaeord delay device.

文摘Objective:This study investigated trends in the study of phytochemical treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD).Methods:The Web of Science database(2007-2022)was searched using the search terms“phytochemicals”and“PTSD,”and relevant literature was compiled.Network clustering co-occurrence analysis and qualitative narrative review were conducted.Results:Three hundred and one articles were included in the analysis of published research,which has surged since 2015 with nearly half of all relevant articles coming from North America.The category is dominated by neuroscience and neurology,with two journals,Addictive Behaviors and Drug and Alcohol Dependence,publishing the greatest number of papers on these topics.Most studies focused on psychedelic intervention for PTSD.Three timelines show an“ebb and flow”phenomenon between“substance use/marijuana abuse”and“psychedelic medicine/medicinal cannabis.”Other phytochemicals account for a small proportion of the research and focus on topics like neurosteroid turnover,serotonin levels,and brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression.Conclusion:Research on phytochemicals and PTSD is unevenly distributed across countries/regions,disciplines,and journals.Since 2015,the research paradigm shifted to constitute the mainstream of psychedelic research thus far,leading to the exploration of botanical active ingredients and molecular mechanisms.Other studies focus on anti-oxidative stress and anti-inflammation.

文摘A measurement system has been developed based on high-precision printed probes in printed circuit board (PCB) and steep rising-time probe adapters, which can be applied to study the expansion uniformity of armature in a helical magnetic flux compression generator (HFCG). The influences of wall thickness and initiation position on the expansion uniformity of armature in HFCG were experimentally investigated. The results show that the armature with thinner wall thickness will easily rupture due to the high pressure of detonation products inside, the armature with larger wall thickness will easily crack due to the tensile stress on the outer surface of the wall, the influence of the end effect on the expansion uniformity can be ignored if the distance between the first group of probe and the initiation point is more than 3 times the armature diameter.

文摘Self-adaptive software(SAS)is gaining popularity as it can reconfigure itself in response to the dynamic changes in the operational context or itself.However,early modeling and formal analysis of SAS systems becomes increasingly difficult,as the system scale and complexity is rapidly increasing.To tackle the modeling difficulty of SAS systems,we present a refinement-based modeling and verification approach called Easy Model.Easy Model integrates the intuitive Unified Modeling Language(UML)model with the stepwise refinement Event-B model.Concretely,EasyModel:1)creates a UML profile called AdaptML that provides an explicit description of SAS characteristics,2)proposes a refinement modeling mechanism for SAS systems that can deal with system modeling complexity,3)offers a model transformation approach and bridges the gap between the design model and the formal model of SAS systems,and 4)provides an efficient way to verify and guarantee the correct behaviour of SAS systems.To validate EasyModel,we present an example application and a subject-based experiment.The results demonstrate that EasyModel can effectively reduce the modeling and formal verification difficulty of SAS systems,and can incorporate the intuitive merit of UML and the correct-by-const ruction merit of Event-B.
文摘The advancement of more precise tools for sustainable process design in enzymatic biodiesel synthesis from renewable sources is crucial.Kinetics of solvent-free transesterification reactions were conducted across a temperature spectrum from 30℃ to 60℃,utilizing Jatropha curcas oil(TG)and ethanol as substrates,alongside a fermented solid by Rhizopus homothallicus as the biocatalyst.The dynamics of chemical species concentrations were monitored through High-performance Thin-Layer Chromatography.Maximum productivities were ach-ieved at 35℃ and 60℃ for biodiesel(293.24 and 299.02 g kg biocat^(-1) h^(-1),respectively),at 40℃ for di-glycerides(1018.36 g kg biocat^(-1) h^(-1)),and at 35℃ for monoglycerides(560.75 g kg biocat^(-1) h^(-1)).Maximum yields were determined at 30℃ for fatty acid ethyl esters(0.56 g gTG^(-1)),and at 40℃ for diglycerides(0.53 g gTG^(-1))and monoglycerides(0.30 g gTG^(-1)).Based on the experimental findings,a kinetic model was formulated encompassing three reversible transesterification reactions.Individual reactions were structured following classical biochemical kinetics,inclusive of ethanol inhibition.Model fitting was executed through non-linear multivariable regression techniques,with the minimum of the average coefficient of variation of the residuals(ACVR)serving as the objective function.The resulting fit of the kinetic model to the experimental data proved satisfactory,with an ACVR of less than 5%across all instances.Notably,the maximum biodiesel productivity,obtained in this work,represented the highest value,compared to other related studies,using a fermented solid as a biocatalyst.

文摘The embryo spot trait leads to a deep purple or reddish coloration at the base of the cotyledons of the embryo,visible on both sides of flat potato(Solanum tuberosum)seeds.This trait has long been used by potato researchers and breeders as a morphological marker during dihaploid induction.The formation of embryo spots reflects the accumulation of anthocyanins,but the genetic basis of this trait remains unclear.In this study,we mapped the embryo spot trait to a 6.78-Mb region at the end of chromosome 10 using an F2 population derived from a cross between spotted and spotless plants.The recombination rate in the candidate region is severely suppressed,posing challenges for the map-based cloning of the underlying gene and suggesting large-scale rearrangements in this region.A de novo genome assembly of the spotted individual and a comparative genomic analysis to the reference genome of spotless potato revealed a 6.49-Mb inversion present in the spotted plant genome.The left breakpoint of this inversion occurred in the promoter region of an R2R3 MYB transcription factor gene that is highly expressed in the cotyledon base of spotted embryos but is not expressed in that of spotless embryos.This study elucidated the genetic basis for embryo spot formation in potato and provides a foundation for future cloning of the causative gene.

文摘The Global Wheat Head Detection(GWHD)dataset was created in 2020 and has assembled 193,634 labelled wheat heads from 4700 RGB images acquired from various acquisition platforms and 7 countries/institutions.With an associated competition hosted in Kaggle,GWHD_2020 has successfully attracted attention from both the computer vision and agricultural science communities.From this first experience,a few avenues for improvements have been identified regarding data size,head diversity,and label reliability.To address these issues,the 2020 dataset has been reexamined,relabeled,and complemented by adding 1722 images from 5 additional countries,allowing for 81,553 additional wheat heads.We now release in 2021 a new version of the Global Wheat Head Detection dataset,which is bigger,more diverse,and less noisy than the GWHD_2020 version.
