For advanced conductive hydrogels,adaptable mechanical properties and high conductivity are essential requirements for practical application,e.g.,soft electronic devices.Here,a straightforward strategy to develop a mechanically robust hydrogel with high conductivity by constructing complicated 3D structures composed of covalently cross-linked polymer network and two nanofillers with distinguishing dimensions is reported.The combination of one-dimensional quaternized cellulose nanofibrils(QACNF)and two-dimensional MXene nanosheets not only provides prominent and tunable mechanical properties modulated by materials composition,but results in electronically conductive path with high conductivity(1281 mS m^(-1)).Owing to the uniform interconnectivity of network structure attributed to the strong macro-molecular interaction and nano-reinforced effect,the resultant hydrogel exhibits a balanced mechanical feature,i.e.,high tensile strength(449 kPa),remarkable stretchability(>1700%),and ultra-high toughness(5.46 MJ m^(-3)),outperforming those of virgin one.Additionally,the enhanced conductive characteristic with the aid of QACNF enables hydrogels with impressive electromechanical behavior,containing high sensitivity(maximum gauge factor:2.24),wide working range(0-1465%),and fast response performance(response time:141 ms,recover time:140 ms).Benefiting from the excellent mechanical performance,a flexible strain sensor based on such conductive hydrogel can deliver an appealing sensing performance of monitoring multi-scale deformations,from large and monotonous mechanical deformation to tiny and complex physiological motions(e.g.,joint movement and signature/vocal recognition).Together,the hydrogel material in this work opens up opportunities in the design and fabrication of advanced gel-based materials for emerging wearable electronics. 展开更多

Autofocus method based on the analysis of image content information is investigated to reduce the alignment error resulting from mark positioning uncertainty due to defocus in microstructure layered fabrication process based on multilevel imprint lithography. The applicability of several autofocus functions to the alignment mark images is evaluated concerning their uniformity, sharpness near peak, reliability and measure computation efficiency and the most suitable one based on power spectrum in frequency domain (PSFD) is adopted. To solve the problem of too much computation amount needed in PSFD algorithm, the strategy of interested region detection and effective image reconstruction is proposed and the algorithm efficiency is improved. The test results show that the computation time is reduced from 0.316 s to 0.023 s under the same conditions while the other merits of the function are preserved, which indicates that the modified algorithm can meet the mark image autofocusing requirements in response time, accuracy and robustness. The alignment error due to defocus which is about 0.5 μm indicated by experimental results can be reduced or eliminated by the autofocusing implementation. 展开更多

To tackle the demoulding and conglutinating problem with the resist and hard mold in the nanoimprint lithography process, a soft mould can be used to demould and reduce the macro or mi- cro mismatch between mould bottom surface and wafer top surface. In nanoimprint lithography process, a mathematical equation is formulated to demonstrate the relation between the residual re- sist thickness and the pressing force during pressing the mould toward the resist-coated wafer. Based on these analytical studies, a new imprint process, which includes a pre-cure release of the pressing force, was proposed for the high-conformity transfer of nano-patterns from the mould to the wafer. The results of a series of imprint experiments showed that the proposed loading process could meet the requirements for the imprint of different patterns and feature sizes while maintaining a uniform residual resist and non-distorted transfer of nano-patterns from the mould to the resist- coated wafer. 展开更多

Modification of Interfacial Performance of Fiber Bragg Grating Embedded in the Composite Materials

The interfacial performance of the Fiber Bragg grating(FGB) embedded in the composite was studied and the influence of interface modification on the final profile of the spectra of the FBG sensor was examined. A type of polyamine(Pentaethylenehexamine, PEHA) was proposed to modify the coating of PI on FBG, and the interfacial performance was evaluated by a pull-out test. Sharp improvements of the interfacial shear strength(77%) were obtained by 40 min treatment of PEHA. Compared with untreated specimen, FGB spectra of treated specimen in the tensile tests show improved linearity within the test regime, which proves that the enhanced interface is beneficial for the sensing performance. 展开更多

An upper bound of the WAMCJM's consistency is presented. Simultaneously, a compatibility index of judging the aggregating extent of group opinions is also introduced. The WAMCJM is of acceptable consistency and is proved provided the compatibilities of all judgement matrices given by experts are smaller than the threshold value of acceptable consistency. An improved block matching approach to fast disparity estimation in machine vision applications is proposed, where the matching criterion is the sum of the absolute difference(SAD).By evaluating the lower bounds, which become increasingly tighter for the matching criteria, the method tries to successively terminate unnecessary computations of the matching criteria between the reference block in one image and the ineligible candidate blocks in another image.It also eliminates the ineligible blocks as early as possible, while ensuring the optimal disparity of each pixel.Also, the proposed method can further speed up the elimination of ineligible candidate blocks by efficiently using the continuous constraint of disparity to predict the initial disparity of each pixel.The performance of the new algorithm is evaluated by carrying out a theoretical analysis, and by comparing its performance with the disparity estimation method based on the standard block matching.Simulated results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm achieves a computational cost reduction of over 50.5% in comparision with the standard block matching method. 展开更多

Structural connections between components are often weak areas in engineering applications.In nature,many biological materials with remarkablemechanical performance possess flexible and creative sutures.In this work,we propose a novel bioinspired interlocking tab considering both the geometry of the tab head and neck,and demonstrate a new approach to optimize the bio-inspired interlocking structures based on machine learning.Artificial neural networks for different optimization objectives are developed and trained using a database of thousands of interlocking structures generated through finite element analysis.Results show that the proposed method is able to achieve accurate prediction of the mechanical response of any given interlocking tab.The optimized designs with different optimization objectives,such as strength,stiffness,and toughness,are obtained efficiently and precisely.The optimum design predicted by machine learning is approximately 7.98 times stronger and 2.98 times tougher than the best design in the training set,which are validated through additive manufacturing and experimental testing.The machine learning-based optimization approach developed here can aid in the exploration of the intricate mechanism behind biological materials and the discovery of new material designs boasting orders of magnitude increase in computational efficacy over conventional methods. 展开更多

A method to improve the low-velocity impact performance of composite laminate is proposed, and a multi-island genetic algorithm is used for the optimization of composite laminate stacking sequence under low-velocity impact loads based on a 2D dynamic impact finite element analysis. Low-velocity impact tests and compression-after impact(CAI) tests have been conducted to verify the effectiveness of optimization method. Experimental results show that the impact damage areas of the optimized laminate have been reduced by 42.1% compared to the baseline specimen, and the residual compression strength has been increased by 10.79%, from baseline specimen 156.97 MPa to optimized 173.91 MPa. The tests result shows that optimization method can effectively enhance the impact performances of the laminate. 展开更多

In this paper,the adaptive lifting scheme (ALS) and local gradient maps (LGM) are proposed to isolate the transient feature components from the gearbox vibration signals. Based on entropy minimization rule,the ALS is employed to change properties of an initial wavelet and design adaptive wavelet. Then LGM is applied to characterize the transient feature components in detail signal of decomposition results using ALS. In the present studies, the orthogonal Daubechies 4 (Db 4) wavelet is used as the initial wavelet. The proposed method is applied to both simulated signals and vibration signals acquired from a gearbox for periodic impulses detection. The two conventional methods (cepstrum analysis and Hilbert envelope analysis) and the orthogonal Db4 wavelet are also used to analyze the same signals for comparison. The results demonstrate that the proposed method is more effective in extracting transient components from noisy signals. 展开更多

These images are acquired by camera and stored into computer. The absolute phase is obtained by analyzing these images. The validity of this method is verified experimentally. In this study,we explore the causes and performance outcomes of switching costs in the context of new product development(NPD)from both the supplier and customer perspectives,and discuss the role that switching costs play as moderators and mediators in the relationship between social capital and NPD performance.Based on data from 214 Chinese manufacturers,we employ the structural equation model to test our conceptual model and hypotheses.The results indicate that relationship quality and customer involvement positively and negatively affect switching costs,respectively,and that switching costs negatively affect NPD performance.Switching costs mediate and moderate the relationship between social capital and NPD performance.Furthermore,switching costs significantly and positively moderate the relationship between relationship quality and NPD performance.On the other hand,switching costs insignificantly and negatively moderate the relationship between customer involvement and NPD performance.The theoretical and managerial implications of the findings are discussed. 展开更多

In this study, the defects in 3D printed Zr-based bulk metallic glasses(BMGs) fabricated by selective laser melting(SLM) under different energy densities have been investigated via both experimental and simulation approaches. Different defects, including balling, interlayer pores, open pores and metallurgical pores, are detected in the 3D-printed Zr-based MGs depending on the energy inputs. Balling mainly occurs at a relatively low energy density(E<8.33 J/mm^3) due to the incomplete melting of particles, while interlayer pores and open pores are formed at modest energy densities(E=13.89-16.67 J/mm^3) because of incomplete welding and insufficient filling of molten liquid between layers. Fine metallurgical pores appear on the upper surface at relatively high energy densities(E=20.83-27.78 J/mm^3), which originate from gas escaping from molten pools during rapid solidification of the melt. Computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulations are carried out to verify the experimental observations. The CFD simulations reveal that the various defects formed in the 3D-printed Zr-based BMG are related to the melt flow behaviours in the molten pools under different energy densities. The present work provides in-depth understandings of defect formation in the SLM process and provides methods for eliminating these defects in order to enhance the mechanical performance of 3D printed BMGs. 展开更多
