In this study,a new Dy-Eu-Tm co-doped cubic phase stabilized bismuth oxide solid electrolyte system was synthesized by using solid-state reaction method in atmospheric conditions.Before conductivity measurements,X-ray diffraction(XRD)pro files of the annealed samples show that created mixtures have heterogeneous phase,but after conductivity measurements,the face-centered cubic(FCC)crystal structure is stabilized for all samples.Also,the increase in total dopant rate causes an increase in full width half maxima(FWHM)of main peak(111)on the XRD pattern while average crystal size decreases with it.On the other hand,the highest conductivity value was obtained for the sample having 15%total dopant rate with 0.62 S/cm at 750℃,whose dopants are evenly distributed in mole percent.Differential thermal analysis(DTA)results of the samples having 1:1:1 and 1:2:1 dopant content ratios show that endothermic peak occurs on their DTA curve,indicating crystal structure transformation such as phase transition or order-disorder transition.Also,thermo-gravimetric analysis(TGA)depending on temperature was evaluated in terms of mass loss.According to TGA curves,mass loss for both heating and cooling process can be negligible due to the small fluctuations(2%)on their TGA curves. 展开更多

A novel poly(vinyl chloride)membrane potentiometric sensor for chromium(Ⅲ)ions based on the use of 5,5′-(1,4-phenylene)bis(3-(naphthalen-1-yl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazole-1-carbothioamide)as a neutral ionophore was developed.The optimum composition of the best performing membrane contained ionophore,potassium tetrakis(p-chlorophenyl)borate(KTpClPB),dibutyl phthalate(DBP),and poly(vinyl chloride)(PVC)in the ratio of 5.5:1.5:55:38(mg).The sensor exhibits a working concentration range of 1.0×10^(-5)-1.0×10^(-1 )mol L^(−1) and a detection limit of 1.7×10^(-6) mol L^(−1).The sensor shows good selectivity for chromium(III)ions over a number of cations including alkali,alkaline earth,heavy and transition metals.The response time of the sensor is 8 s.In addition,the developed sensor shows good reusability and stability.The sensor operates in the wide pH range of 5.0-11.0.The sensor could be used as an indicator electrode in the quantification of Cr^(3+)ions by potentiometric titration against ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid(EDTA).Finally,this sensor was successfully used for the determination of chromium(III)in commercial water,purification water and wastewater. 展开更多

Vitamins are essential nutrients involved in a wide range of biological functions in the human body.Since vitamins are required for optimal metabolism,development,and maintenance,most of them must be taken from a diet.However,vitamins are extremely sensitive to oxidation,light,moisture,heat,and free radicals,thus,during processing and storage,they may entirely or partially deteriorate.Encapsulation makes it possible to protect sensitive vitamins in coating materials and preserves them against color loss,quick deterioration,and activity loss by increasing vitamin stability especially in liquid medium.It is important to improve the retention of vitamins in the foods and offer regulated release during digestion by applying particular encapsulation techniques,such as spray drying(SD)and appropriate carrier materials including plant-based proteins.SD is a relatively inexpensive,rapid,adaptable,and simple processing method utilized in the food sector for high-quality encapsulated bioactive ingredients.This review examines the use of SD encapsulation for both water-and fat-soluble vitamins,particularly with carriers derived from plant proteins. 展开更多

Fast-dissolving electroactive drug delivery systems:Gelatin/Poly(sulphonic acid diphenyl aniline)electrospun nanofibers

In this study,bovine gelatin(Gel)/poly(sulfonic acid diphenyl aniline)(PSDA)electrospun nanofibers were produced with PSDA,a water-soluble polyzwitterion ion thanks to sulfonyl groups,and Gel,a biocompatible and biodegradable natural polymer.These electrospun nanofibers are both electroactive and water-soluble.Cyclic voltammetry technique was used to examine the electroactivity of these nanofibers,which were used as un-supported direct working electrodes.According to the cyclic voltammograms,when the PSDA ratio in Gel/PSDA nanofibers was increased from 5%to 20%,the highest oxidation current value increased from 3.29 nA to 14.33 nA.These water-soluble electroactive nanofibers were loaded with methimazole as a model drug,and their cumulative release occurred within a few seconds.FTIR,UV-Vis spectroscopy,TG/DTA,XRD,DMA,SEM and EDS were used for characterizations.These water-based fast-dissolving electroactive Gel/PSDA electrospun nanofibers,presented for the first time in this study,were produced safely,quickly and at relatively low cost.In addition to being used as a new water-soluble drug delivery system,these nanofibers can also be used in other bioapplications such as biosensors and tissue engineering because they are electroactive. 展开更多
