Crop leaf area index(LAI)and biomass are two major biophysical parameters to measure crop growth and health condition.Measuring LAI and biomass in field experiments is a destructive method.Therefore,we focused on the ...Crop leaf area index(LAI)and biomass are two major biophysical parameters to measure crop growth and health condition.Measuring LAI and biomass in field experiments is a destructive method.Therefore,we focused on the application of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)in agriculture,which is a cost and labor-efficientmethod.Hence,UAV-captured multispectral images were applied to monitor crop growth,identify plant bio-physical conditions,and so on.In this study,we monitored soybean crops using UAV and field experiments.This experiment was conducted at theMAFES(Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station)Pontotoc Ridge-Flatwoods Branch Experiment Station.It followed a randomized block design with five cover crops:Cereal Rye,Vetch,Wheat,MC:mixed Mustard and Cereal Rye,and native vegetation.Planting was made in the fall,and three fertilizer treatments were applied:Synthetic Fertilizer,Poultry Litter,and none,applied before planting the soybean,in a full factorial combination.We monitored soybean reproductive phases at R3(initial pod development),R5(initial seed development),R6(full seed development),and R7(initial maturity)and used UAV multispectral remote sensing for soybean LAI and biomass estimations.The major goal of this study was to assess LAI and biomass estimations from UAV multispectral images in the reproductive stages when the development of leaves and biomass was stabilized.Wemade about fourteen vegetation indices(VIs)fromUAVmultispectral images at these stages to estimate LAI and biomass.Wemodeled LAI and biomass based on these remotely sensed VIs and ground-truth measurements usingmachine learning methods,including linear regression,Random Forest(RF),and support vector regression(SVR).Thereafter,the models were applied to estimate LAI and biomass.According to the model results,LAI was better estimated at the R6 stage and biomass at the R3 stage.Compared to the other models,the RF models showed better estimation,i.e.,an R^(2) of about 0.58–0.68 with an RMSE(rootmean square error)of 0.52–0.60(m^(2)/m^(2))for the LAI and about 0.44–0.64 for R^(2) and 21–26(g dry weight/5 plants)for RMSE of biomass estimation.We performed a leave-one-out cross-validation.Based on cross-validatedmodels with field experiments,we also found that the R6 stage was the best for estimating LAI,and the R3 stage for estimating crop biomass.The cross-validated RF model showed the estimation ability with an R^(2) about 0.25–0.44 and RMSE of 0.65–0.85(m^(2)/m^(2))for LAI estimation;and R^(2) about 0.1–0.31 and an RMSE of about 28–35(g dry weight/5 plants)for crop biomass estimation.This result will be helpful to promote the use of non-destructive remote sensing methods to determine the crop LAI and biomass status,which may bring more efficient crop production and management.展开更多

BACKGROUND Effective management of liver abscess depends on timely drainage,which is influenced by the liquefaction degree.Identifying predictive factors is crucial for guiding clinical decisions.AIM To investigate th...BACKGROUND Effective management of liver abscess depends on timely drainage,which is influenced by the liquefaction degree.Identifying predictive factors is crucial for guiding clinical decisions.AIM To investigate the predictive factors of liver abscess liquefaction and develop a predictive model to guide optimal timing of percutaneous drainage.METHODS This retrospective study included 110 patients with pyogenic liver abscesses who underwent percutaneous catheter drainage.Patients were divided into a poor liquefaction group(n=28)and a well liquefaction group(n=82)based on the ratio of postoperative 24-hour drainage volume to abscess volume,using a cutoff value of 0.3.Clinical characteristics,laboratory indicators,and computed tomography imaging features were compared.A predictive model was constructed using logistic regression and evaluated using receiver operating characteristic curves and five-fold cross-validation.RESULTS Independent predictive factors for good liquefaction included the absence of diabetes[odds ratio(OR)=0.339,P=0.044],absence of pneumonia(OR=0.218,P=0.013),left-lobe abscess location(OR=4.293,P=0.041),cystic features(OR=5.104,P=0.025),and elevated preoperative serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT)levels(OR=1.013,P=0.041).The logistic regression model based on these factors demonstrated an area under the curve of 0.814,with a sensitivity of 90.24%and specificity of 67.86%.Five-fold cross-validation yielded an average accuracy of 83.61%and a kappa coefficient of 0.5209.CONCLUSION Pneumonia,diabetes,abscess location,abscess composition,and preoperative serum ALT levels are significant predictors of liver abscess liquefaction.The model can guide clinical decision-making.展开更多
BACKGROUND Percutaneous cholecystostomy(PC)can be used as a bridging therapy for moderately severe acute biliary pancreatitis(MSABP).Currently,there are only a limited number of reports of MSABP using PCs.AIM To asses...BACKGROUND Percutaneous cholecystostomy(PC)can be used as a bridging therapy for moderately severe acute biliary pancreatitis(MSABP).Currently,there are only a limited number of reports of MSABP using PCs.AIM To assess the short-term outcomes of early PC in MSABP and factors associated with recurrence and death in MSABP.METHODS Patients who received conservative treatment or PC for acute biliary pancreatitis(ABP)in Liaoning Provincial People’s Hospital from January 2017 to July 2022 were collected.A total of 54 patients with MSABP who received early-stage PC and 29 patients who received conservative treatment.The short-term efficacy of PC was evaluated.Depending on whether there is a recurrence,compare the characteristics of the pre-PC and explore the factors of recurrence.Pre-PC features were compared and predictors were discussed,depending on the outcome.RESULTS After 3 days of PC treatment,patients experienced a reduction in inflammatory markers compared to the conservative group.After PC,patients were divided into non-recurrence(n=37)and recurrence(n=10)groups,and the results showed that age was an independent correlation affecting ABP recurrence[odds ratio(OR)=0.937,95%confidence interval(CI):0.878-0.999;P=0.047<0.05].Patient outcomes were divided into non-lethal(n=47)and lethal(n=7)groups,and Charlson Comorbidity Index(CCI)was a risk factor for mortality(OR=2.397,95%CI:1.139-5.047;P=0.021<0.05).CCI was highly accurate in predicting death in MSABP(area under the curve=0.86>0.7).When the Youden index maximum was 0.565,the cut-off value was 5.5,the sensitivity was 71.4%,and the specificity was 85.1%.CONCLUSION PC is an important method in the early years(<72 hours)of MSABP.Age is a protective factor against recurrence of ABP.High pre-PC CCI is significantly associated with mortality.展开更多
Production of green hydrogen through water electrolysis powered by renewable energy sources has garnered increasing attention as an attractive strategy for the storage of clean and sustainable energy.Among various ele...Production of green hydrogen through water electrolysis powered by renewable energy sources has garnered increasing attention as an attractive strategy for the storage of clean and sustainable energy.Among various electrolysis technologies,the emerging anion exchange membrane water electrolyser(AEMWE)exhibits the most potential for green hydrogen production,offering a potentially costeffective and sustainable approach that combines the advantages of high current density and fast start from proton exchange membrane water electrolyser(PEMWE)and low-cost catalyst from traditional alkaline water electrolyser(AWE)systems.Due to its relatively recent emergence over the past decade,a series of efforts are dedicated to improving the electrochemical reaction performance to accelerate the development and commercialization of AEMWE technology.A catalytic electrode comprising a gas diffusion layer(GDL)and a catalyst layer(CL)is usually called a gas diffusion electrode(GDE)that serves as a fundamental component within AEMWE,and also plays a core role in enhancing mass transfer during the electrolysis process.Inside the GDEs,bubbles nucleate and grow within the CL and then are transported through the GDL before eventually detaching to enter the electrolyte in the flow field.The transfer processes of water,gas bubbles,charges,and ions are intricately influenced by bubbles.This phenomenon is referred to as bubble-associated mass transfer.Like water management in fuel cells,effective bubble management is crucial in electrolysers,as its failure can result in various overpotential losses,such as activation losses,ohmic losses,and mass transfer losses,ultimately degrading the AEMWE performance.Despite significant advancements in the development of new materials and techniques in AEMWE,there is an urgent need for a comprehensive discussion focused on GDEs,with a particular emphasis on bubbleassociated mass transfer phenomena.This review aims to highlight recent findings regarding mass transfer in GDEs,particularly the impacts of bubble accumulation;and presents the latest advancements in designing CLs and GDLs to mitigate bubble-related issues.It is worth noting that a series of innovative bubble-free-GDE designs for water electrolysis are also emphasized in this review.This review is expected to be a valuable reference for gaining a deeper understanding of bubble-related mass transfer,especially the complex bubble behavior associated with GDEs,and for developing innovative practical strategies to advance AEMWE for green hydrogen production.展开更多
This study aims to enhance the maneuvering advantages of the waterjet unit through parametric design,performance evaluation,and optimization of the one-piece waterjet propulsion steering and reversing gear(SRG).The SR...This study aims to enhance the maneuvering advantages of the waterjet unit through parametric design,performance evaluation,and optimization of the one-piece waterjet propulsion steering and reversing gear(SRG).The SRG’s performance evaluation stems mainly from the effect of the free surface,the varying sailing speeds of the ship,and its performance while functioning at the stern of the waterjet-propelled vessel.Parameters such as the length,width,and height of the steering gear,as well as the inclination,width,and curvature of the reversing gear,significantly influence the SRG.Although the free surface has a great impact on the force of the SRG,its performance trend remains unaffected.When the SRG operates at the stern of the ship,the optimized scheme’s lateral force improves by an average of 8.08%for sailing with a rudder angle condition and an average of 45.69%for reversing sailing with a rudder angle condition.The longitudinal force of the optimized scheme improves by more than 23%when sailing without a rudder angle condition and by an average of 31.75%when sailing with a reversed rudder angle condition.Additionally,the speed of the rotor has a minimal effect on the lateral force and a significant effect on the longitudinal force.展开更多
Background GOSSYM is a mechanistic,process-based cotton model that can simulate cotton crop growth and development,yield,and fiber quality.Its fiber quality module was developed based on controlled experiments explici...Background GOSSYM is a mechanistic,process-based cotton model that can simulate cotton crop growth and development,yield,and fiber quality.Its fiber quality module was developed based on controlled experiments explicitly conducted on the Texas Marker^(-1)(TM1)variety,potentially making its functional equations more aligned with this cultivar.To assess the model’s broader applicability,this study analyzed fiber quality data from 40 upland cotton cultivars,including TM1.The measured fiber quality from all cultivars was then compared with the modelsimulated fiber quality.Results Among the 40 upland cultivars,fiber strength varied from 28.4 cN·tex^(-1) to 34.6 cN·tex^(-1),fiber length ranged from 27.1 mm to 33.3 mm,micronaire value ranged from 2.7 to 4.6,and length uniformity index varied from 82.3%to 85.5%.The model simulated fiber quality closely matched the measured values for TM1,with the absolute percentage error(APE)being less than 0.92%for fiber strength,fiber length,and length uniformity index and 4.7%for micronaire.However,significant differences were observed for the other cultivars.The Pearson correlation coefficient(r)between the measured and simulated values was negative for all fiber quality traits,and Wilmotts’s index of agreement(WIA)was below 0.45,indicating a strong model bias toward TM1 without incorporating cultivar-specific parameters.After incorporating cultivar-specific parameters,the model’s performance improved significantly,with an average r-value of 0.84 and WIA of 0.88.Conclusions The adopted methodology and estimated cultivar-specific parameters improved the model’s simulation accuracy.This approach can be applied to newer cotton cultivars,enhancing the GOSSYM model’s utility and its applicability for agricultural management and policy decisions.展开更多
Background:Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related mortality,and while low-dose computed tomography screening may reduce mortality,emerging prognostic models show superior discriminative efficacy compared t...Background:Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related mortality,and while low-dose computed tomography screening may reduce mortality,emerging prognostic models show superior discriminative efficacy compared to age-and smoking history-based screening.However,further research is needed to assess their reliability in predicting lung cancer risk in high-risk patients.Methods:This study evaluated the predictive performance and quality of existing lung cancer prognostic models through a systematic review and meta-analysis.A comprehensive search was conducted in PubMed,Cochrane,Web of Science,CNKI,and Wanfang for articles published between January 1,2000,and February 13,2025,identifying population-basedmodels incorporating all available modeling data.Results:Among 72 analyzed studies,models were developed from Asian(28 studies,including 23 Chinese cohorts)and European/American(48 studies)populations,with only 6 focusing on nonsmokers.Twenty-one models included genetic markers,15 used clinical factors,and 40 integrated epidemiological predictors.Although 37 models underwent external validation,only 4 demonstrated minimal bias and clinical applicability.A meta-analysis of 11 repeatedly validated models revealed calibration and discrimination,though some lacked calibration data.Conclusions:Few lung cancer prognostic models exist for nonsmokers.Most models exhibit poor predictive performance in external validations,with significant bias and limited application scope.Widespread external validation,standardized model development,and reporting techniques are needed to accurately identify high-risk individuals and ensure applicability across diverse populations.展开更多

Objective To determine the correlation between traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)inspec-tion of spirit classification and the severity grade of depression based on facial features,offer-ing insights for intelligent int...Objective To determine the correlation between traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)inspec-tion of spirit classification and the severity grade of depression based on facial features,offer-ing insights for intelligent intergrated TCM and western medicine diagnosis of depression.Methods Using the Audio-Visual Emotion Challenge and Workshop(AVEC 2014)public dataset on depression,which conclude 150 interview videos,the samples were classified ac-cording to the TCM inspection of spirit classification:Deshen(得神,presence of spirit),Shaoshen(少神,insufficiency of spirit),and Shenluan(神乱,confusion of spirit).Meanwhile,based on Beck Depression Inventory-II(BDI-II)score for the severity grade of depression,the samples were divided into minimal(0-13,Q1),mild(14-19,Q2),moderate(20-28,Q3),and severe(29-63,Q4).Sixty-eight landmarks were extracted with a ResNet-50 network,and the feature extracion mode was stadardized.Random forest and support vectior machine(SVM)classifiers were used to predict TCM inspection of spirit classification and the severity grade of depression,respectively.A Chi-square test and Apriori association rule mining were then applied to quantify and explore the relationships.Results The analysis revealed a statistically significant and moderately strong association be-tween TCM spirit classification and the severity grade of depression,as confirmed by a Chi-square test(χ^(2)=14.04,P=0.029)with a Cramer’s V effect size of 0.243.Further exploration us-ing association rule mining identified the most compelling rule:“moderate depression(Q3)→Shenluan”.This rule demonstrated a support level of 5%,indicating this specific co-occur-rence was present in 5%of the cohort.Crucially,it achieved a high Confidence of 86%,mean-ing that among patients diagnosed with Q3,86%exhibited the Shenluan pattern according to TCM assessment.The substantial Lift of 2.37 signifies that the observed likelihood of Shenlu-an manifesting in Q3 patients is 2.37 times higher than would be expected by chance if these states were independent-compelling evidence of a highly non-random association.Conse-quently,Shenluan emerges as a distinct and core TCM diagnostic manifestation strongly linked to Q3,forming a clinically significant phenotype within this patient subgroup.展开更多
Copper(Cu)-based catalysts show significant potential for producing high value-added C_(2+)products in electrocatalytic CO_(2)/CO reduction reactions(CO(2)RR).However,the structural reconfiguration during operation po...Copper(Cu)-based catalysts show significant potential for producing high value-added C_(2+)products in electrocatalytic CO_(2)/CO reduction reactions(CO(2)RR).However,the structural reconfiguration during operation poses substantial challenges in identifying the intrinsic catalytic active site,especially under similar mass transport conditions.Herein,three typical and commercial Cu-based catalysts(Cu,CuO,and Cu_(2)O)are chosen as representatives to elucidate the structure-activity relationship of CORR in the membrane electrode assembly electrolyzer.Notably,only the Cu catalyst demonstrates the most suppression of hydrogen evolution reaction,thus achieving the highest FE of 86.7% for C_(2+)products at a current density of 500 mA cm^(-2) and maintaining a stable electrolysis over 110 h at a current of 200 mA cm^(-2).The influence of chemical valence state of Cu,electrochemical surface area,and local pH were firstly investigated and ruled out for the significant FE differences.Finally,based on the structure analysis from high resolution transmission electron microscope,OH-adsorption,in situ infrared spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations,it is suggested that the asymmetric C-C coupling(via ^(*)CHO and ^(*)CO)is the most probable reaction pathway for forming C_(2+)products,with Cu(100)-dominant grain boundaries(GBs)being the most favorable active sites.These findings provide deeper insights into the synergistic relationship between crystal facets and GBs in electrocatalytic systems.展开更多
Rare earth elements(REEs) were extracted from phosphogypsum(PG) using an indirect leaching method that produces CaCO_(3).The carbonation process transforms PG into CaCO_(3),and a potential source of value is the(NH_(4...Rare earth elements(REEs) were extracted from phosphogypsum(PG) using an indirect leaching method that produces CaCO_(3).The carbonation process transforms PG into CaCO_(3),and a potential source of value is the(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4) fertilizer.The calcium carbonate byproduct is rich in REEs that are originally present in PG.Calcium carbonate,a byproduct of PG carbonation and a rich source of REEs,could dissolve in nitric acid to produce a calcium nitrate leach solution that contains RE nitrate.Subsequently,the most widely used solvent extraction technique can make use of an environmentally benign nitrate ionic liquid.Cyphos IL 101(trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium chloride) is transformed into trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium nitrate([P_(66614)][NO_(3)]) ionic liquid by adding 2.5 mol/L potassium nitrate.The extraction examinations were tested by equilibration of 2 mL of [P_(66614)][NO_(3)] with 2 mL of a synthetic solution of 1000 mg/L of individual La,Ce,and Nd to gain the optimal extraction conditions.The high extraction efficiency of La,Ce,and Nd was gained by stirring a 1/1 aqueous/organic phase ratio and 3 mol/L NH_(4)NO_(3)(as salting out) at 800 r/min for 40 min at 50℃ to decrease the viscosity of [P_(66614)][NO_(3)].The La(Ⅲ),Ce(Ⅲ),and Nd(Ⅲ) stripping efficiencies were examined from their loaded [P_(66614)][NO_(3)] ionic liquid by 1/1 A/O ratio of acidified water,800 r/min stirring speed,and 25℃.After nine cycles,the extraction and stirring efficiency for the La,Ce,and Nd drop to about 80%.The extraction and stripping parameters are applied to the RE leachate from PG to gain the RE oxide with an assay of 92.67%.展开更多

However, grow...Familial androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS), resulting from inherited mutations in the androgen receptor (AR)gene, has traditionally been examined within the framework of disorders of sex development. However, growingevidence indicates that AR dysfunction also disrupts systemic metabolic homeostasis, predisposing affectedindividuals to insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes mellitus. This article synthesizes recent advances in genetics,transcriptomics, and physiology to elucidate how AR mutations drive tissue-specific metabolic reprogramming inkey organs, including pancreatic β-cells, skeletal muscle, liver, and adipose tissue. Particular attention is given to anewly identified familial AR variant (c.2117A>G;p.Asn706Ser), which not only broadens the known mutationalspectrum of AIS but also underscores the clinical importance of early metabolic risk screening in this population.We further examine how pubertal stage, hormone replacement therapy, and sex-specific signaling pathwaysinteract to influence long-term metabolic outcomes. Lastly, we propose an integrative management framework thatincorporates genetic diagnosis, endocrine surveillance, and personalized pharmacological strategies aimed atreducing the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiometabolic complications in individuals with AIS. Objectives:Bladder Cancer(BC)is one of the most commonly diagnosed malignancies worldwide,with high rates of mortality and morbidity.It can be classified as non-muscle invasive bladder cancer(NMIBC)or muscle-invasive ...Objectives:Bladder Cancer(BC)is one of the most commonly diagnosed malignancies worldwide,with high rates of mortality and morbidity.It can be classified as non-muscle invasive bladder cancer(NMIBC)or muscle-invasive bladder cancer(MIBC),with radical cystectomy being the treatment for MIBC,which significantly reduces quality of life.MicroRNAs(miRs)act as critical genetic regulators,with both oncogenic and tumor-suppressive roles.MiR-10a is described as a tumor suppressor in various neoplasms,but its role in BC is controversial.This study aims to assess the activity of miR-10a in cellular invasion and proliferation in two distinct BC cell lines.Methods:The study used high-grade T24 and low-grade RT4 bladder cell lines.Cells were transfected with miR-10a mimic or a non-targeting control.Transfection efficiency was validated by qPCR.Cell proliferation was cultured for 10–14 days.Cell migration and invasion were evaluated using Matrigel.All assays were conducted in triplicate.Results:The T24 cells transfected with miR-10a presented decreased cellular proliferation and invasion compared to the Scramble(p=0.0481 and p<0.0001,respectively).In the RT4 cell line,there was only a significant reduction in cellular proliferation after miR-10a transfection(p=0.0029).Conclusions:Our findings suggest that miR-10a has a tumoral suppressor role in BC,demonstrating higher efficacy in high-grade cells.展开更多

The objective of this paper is to describe the infrastructure and tools developed by IUGONET. We focus on the data analysis software. It is written in Interactive Data Language (IDL) and is a plug-in for the THEMIS Data Analysis Software suite (TDAS), which is a set of IDL libraries used to visualize and analyze satellite- and ground-based data. We present plots of upper atmospheric data provided by IUGONET as examples of applications, and verify the usefulness of the software in the study of polar science. We discuss IUGONET's new and unique developments, i.e., an executable file of TDAS that can run on the IDL Virtual Machine, IDL routines to retrieve metadata from the IUGONET database, and an archive of 3-D simulation data that uses the Common Data Format so that it can easily be used with TDAS.展开更多

The microbiota is strongly association with cancer.Studies have shown significant differences in the gastric microbiota between patients with gastric cancer(GC)patients and noncancer patients,suggesting that the micro...The microbiota is strongly association with cancer.Studies have shown significant differences in the gastric microbiota between patients with gastric cancer(GC)patients and noncancer patients,suggesting that the microbiota may play a role in the development of GC.Although Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection is widely recognized as a primary risk factor for GC,recent studies based on microbiota sequencing technology have revealed that non-H.pylori microbes also have a significant impact on GC.A recent study discovered that Streptococcus anginosus(S.anginosus)is more prevalent in the gastric mucosa of patients with GC than in that of those without GC.S.anginosus infection can spontaneously induce chronic gastritis,mural cell atrophy,mucoid chemotaxis,and heterotrophic hyperplasia,which promote the development of precancerous lesions of GC(PLGC).S.anginosus also disrupts the gastric barrier function,promotes the proliferation of GC cells,and inhibits apoptosis.However,S.anginosus is underrepresented in the literature.Recent reports suggest that it may cause precancerous lesions,indicating its emerging pathogenicity.Modern novel molecular diagnostic techniques,such as polymerase chain reaction,genetic testing,and Ultrasensitive Chromosomal Aneuploidy Detection,can be used to gastric precancerous lesions via microbial markers.Therefore,we present a concise summary of the relationship between S.anginosus and PLGC.Our aim was to further investigate new methods of preventing and treating PLGC by exploring the pathogenicity of S.anginosus on PLGC.展开更多

The present study was conducted with the aim to compare the effects of creative group teaching and educational booklet on interpersonal skills of midwives in a clinical setting. The present study was conducted on 97 midwifery graduates working in hospitals in Kerman Province, in two groups of educational booklet (49 midwives) and educational workshop (48 midwives) who participated in a 3-day creative teaching workshop in summer 2015. Creative problem-solving teaching intervention group was taught through educational workshop method, including small group and team working, group discussion and mini lectures. Midwifery 1 intervention group was provided with an educational booklet validated by professors of Nursing and Midwifery School for independent and individual study by midwives working in Kerman Province hospitals. The two groups were matched in terms of personal details. Hospitals were randomly selected, and midwives were selected by quota sampling. Interpersonal communication skills of both groups were assessed before and after intervention, and two months later using Interpersonal Communication Skills Test. The results obtained were analyzed in SPSS-16 using descriptive statistics, including frequency and percentage, mean and standard deviation, and inferential statistics including U-Mann-Whitney, paired t, independent t, repeated measures ANOVA tests at significance level of P P P P P < 0.001). Both teaching methods improved midwives’ interpersonal communication skills. Therefore, standardized educational booklets which produce cost-effective similar results are recommended.展开更多
Recycling is viewed as a key component in a circular economy and serves as an ideal solution for promoting sustainability.During the global plastic crisis,plastic recycling practices have been adopted worldwide,leadin...Recycling is viewed as a key component in a circular economy and serves as an ideal solution for promoting sustainability.During the global plastic crisis,plastic recycling practices have been adopted worldwide,leading to the production of various products made from recycled plastics(PRP).Nevertheless,a gap persists between consumption and demand for such products,which is primarily attributed to a lack of comprehension from the consumer perspective.Given the pivotal role consumers play in the adoption of these products,this study explores consumers’intentions to purchase PRP.This is particularly significant in Vietnam,which is an emerging economy aspiring to achieve the objectives of a circular economy and sustainable development.Utilizing an integrated cognitive-emotional framework comprising the Valence Theory and the Norm Activation Model,data from 564 Vietnamese students were gathered and analyzed using structural equation modeling.The results show that awareness of consequences is a major driver of consumer purchase intentions,followed by perceived ease of application and monetary incentives.The results also indicate that health concerns have the strongest effect on purchase intention and in the negative side,meaning that the health-related risk is the primary concern for consumers during the decision-making process.This research holds substantial value for academics and managers,as it aids in the theoretical exploration and the formulation of strategies to improve consumer acceptance of PRP.展开更多
Handwritten character recognition is considered challenging compared with machine-printed characters due to the different human writing styles.Arabic is morphologically rich,and its characters have a high similarity.T...Handwritten character recognition is considered challenging compared with machine-printed characters due to the different human writing styles.Arabic is morphologically rich,and its characters have a high similarity.The Arabic language includes 28 characters.Each character has up to four shapes according to its location in the word(at the beginning,middle,end,and isolated).This paper proposed 12 CNN architectures for recognizing handwritten Arabic characters.The proposed architectures were derived from the popular CNN architectures,such as VGG,ResNet,and Inception,to make them applicable to recognizing character-size images.The experimental results on three well-known datasets showed that the proposed architectures significantly enhanced the recognition rate compared to the baseline models.The experiments showed that data augmentation improved the models’accuracies on all tested datasets.The proposed model outperformed most of the existing approaches.The best achieved results were 93.05%,98.30%,and 96.88%on the HIJJA,AHCD,and AIA9K datasets.展开更多

文摘Crop leaf area index(LAI)and biomass are two major biophysical parameters to measure crop growth and health condition.Measuring LAI and biomass in field experiments is a destructive method.Therefore,we focused on the application of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)in agriculture,which is a cost and labor-efficientmethod.Hence,UAV-captured multispectral images were applied to monitor crop growth,identify plant bio-physical conditions,and so on.In this study,we monitored soybean crops using UAV and field experiments.This experiment was conducted at theMAFES(Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station)Pontotoc Ridge-Flatwoods Branch Experiment Station.It followed a randomized block design with five cover crops:Cereal Rye,Vetch,Wheat,MC:mixed Mustard and Cereal Rye,and native vegetation.Planting was made in the fall,and three fertilizer treatments were applied:Synthetic Fertilizer,Poultry Litter,and none,applied before planting the soybean,in a full factorial combination.We monitored soybean reproductive phases at R3(initial pod development),R5(initial seed development),R6(full seed development),and R7(initial maturity)and used UAV multispectral remote sensing for soybean LAI and biomass estimations.The major goal of this study was to assess LAI and biomass estimations from UAV multispectral images in the reproductive stages when the development of leaves and biomass was stabilized.Wemade about fourteen vegetation indices(VIs)fromUAVmultispectral images at these stages to estimate LAI and biomass.Wemodeled LAI and biomass based on these remotely sensed VIs and ground-truth measurements usingmachine learning methods,including linear regression,Random Forest(RF),and support vector regression(SVR).Thereafter,the models were applied to estimate LAI and biomass.According to the model results,LAI was better estimated at the R6 stage and biomass at the R3 stage.Compared to the other models,the RF models showed better estimation,i.e.,an R^(2) of about 0.58–0.68 with an RMSE(rootmean square error)of 0.52–0.60(m^(2)/m^(2))for the LAI and about 0.44–0.64 for R^(2) and 21–26(g dry weight/5 plants)for RMSE of biomass estimation.We performed a leave-one-out cross-validation.Based on cross-validatedmodels with field experiments,we also found that the R6 stage was the best for estimating LAI,and the R3 stage for estimating crop biomass.The cross-validated RF model showed the estimation ability with an R^(2) about 0.25–0.44 and RMSE of 0.65–0.85(m^(2)/m^(2))for LAI estimation;and R^(2) about 0.1–0.31 and an RMSE of about 28–35(g dry weight/5 plants)for crop biomass estimation.This result will be helpful to promote the use of non-destructive remote sensing methods to determine the crop LAI and biomass status,which may bring more efficient crop production and management.

文摘Oxidative stress and inflammation are closely interrelated processes that are pivotal to the impaired wound healing associated with diabetes.Chronic hyperglycemia in diabetic patients induces excessive reactive oxygen species(ROS)production,which triggers heightened inflammatory responses.The resulting inflammation exacerbates oxidative damage,delays wound closure,and intensifies tissue injury,thereby creating a detrimental cycle that disrupts normal wound healing.Recent research has increasingly focused on the therapeutic potential of natural products in modulating oxidative stress and inflammation to enhance diabetic wound healing.Natural compounds,such as polyphenols,flavonoids,and terpenoids,have demonstrated significant efficacy in reducing oxidative damage and modulating inflammatory pathways.These bioactive agents exhibit potent antioxidant activity by scavenging ROS and enhancing endogenous antioxidant defenses while concurrently inhibiting the release of proinflammatory cytokines.Additionally,natural therapies have been shown to promote angiogenesis,enhance collagen synthesis,and improve fibroblast function,further facilitating wound repair.This review provides insights into the complex interplay between oxidative stress and inflammation in diabetic wound healing and evaluates the therapeutic potential of natural products as adjunctive treatments.Further clinical investigations are essential to validate the efficacy and safety of these natural interventions for diabetic wound management.
文摘BACKGROUND Effective management of liver abscess depends on timely drainage,which is influenced by the liquefaction degree.Identifying predictive factors is crucial for guiding clinical decisions.AIM To investigate the predictive factors of liver abscess liquefaction and develop a predictive model to guide optimal timing of percutaneous drainage.METHODS This retrospective study included 110 patients with pyogenic liver abscesses who underwent percutaneous catheter drainage.Patients were divided into a poor liquefaction group(n=28)and a well liquefaction group(n=82)based on the ratio of postoperative 24-hour drainage volume to abscess volume,using a cutoff value of 0.3.Clinical characteristics,laboratory indicators,and computed tomography imaging features were compared.A predictive model was constructed using logistic regression and evaluated using receiver operating characteristic curves and five-fold cross-validation.RESULTS Independent predictive factors for good liquefaction included the absence of diabetes[odds ratio(OR)=0.339,P=0.044],absence of pneumonia(OR=0.218,P=0.013),left-lobe abscess location(OR=4.293,P=0.041),cystic features(OR=5.104,P=0.025),and elevated preoperative serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT)levels(OR=1.013,P=0.041).The logistic regression model based on these factors demonstrated an area under the curve of 0.814,with a sensitivity of 90.24%and specificity of 67.86%.Five-fold cross-validation yielded an average accuracy of 83.61%and a kappa coefficient of 0.5209.CONCLUSION Pneumonia,diabetes,abscess location,abscess composition,and preoperative serum ALT levels are significant predictors of liver abscess liquefaction.The model can guide clinical decision-making.

文摘BACKGROUND Percutaneous cholecystostomy(PC)can be used as a bridging therapy for moderately severe acute biliary pancreatitis(MSABP).Currently,there are only a limited number of reports of MSABP using PCs.AIM To assess the short-term outcomes of early PC in MSABP and factors associated with recurrence and death in MSABP.METHODS Patients who received conservative treatment or PC for acute biliary pancreatitis(ABP)in Liaoning Provincial People’s Hospital from January 2017 to July 2022 were collected.A total of 54 patients with MSABP who received early-stage PC and 29 patients who received conservative treatment.The short-term efficacy of PC was evaluated.Depending on whether there is a recurrence,compare the characteristics of the pre-PC and explore the factors of recurrence.Pre-PC features were compared and predictors were discussed,depending on the outcome.RESULTS After 3 days of PC treatment,patients experienced a reduction in inflammatory markers compared to the conservative group.After PC,patients were divided into non-recurrence(n=37)and recurrence(n=10)groups,and the results showed that age was an independent correlation affecting ABP recurrence[odds ratio(OR)=0.937,95%confidence interval(CI):0.878-0.999;P=0.047<0.05].Patient outcomes were divided into non-lethal(n=47)and lethal(n=7)groups,and Charlson Comorbidity Index(CCI)was a risk factor for mortality(OR=2.397,95%CI:1.139-5.047;P=0.021<0.05).CCI was highly accurate in predicting death in MSABP(area under the curve=0.86>0.7).When the Youden index maximum was 0.565,the cut-off value was 5.5,the sensitivity was 71.4%,and the specificity was 85.1%.CONCLUSION PC is an important method in the early years(<72 hours)of MSABP.Age is a protective factor against recurrence of ABP.High pre-PC CCI is significantly associated with mortality.

文摘Production of green hydrogen through water electrolysis powered by renewable energy sources has garnered increasing attention as an attractive strategy for the storage of clean and sustainable energy.Among various electrolysis technologies,the emerging anion exchange membrane water electrolyser(AEMWE)exhibits the most potential for green hydrogen production,offering a potentially costeffective and sustainable approach that combines the advantages of high current density and fast start from proton exchange membrane water electrolyser(PEMWE)and low-cost catalyst from traditional alkaline water electrolyser(AWE)systems.Due to its relatively recent emergence over the past decade,a series of efforts are dedicated to improving the electrochemical reaction performance to accelerate the development and commercialization of AEMWE technology.A catalytic electrode comprising a gas diffusion layer(GDL)and a catalyst layer(CL)is usually called a gas diffusion electrode(GDE)that serves as a fundamental component within AEMWE,and also plays a core role in enhancing mass transfer during the electrolysis process.Inside the GDEs,bubbles nucleate and grow within the CL and then are transported through the GDL before eventually detaching to enter the electrolyte in the flow field.The transfer processes of water,gas bubbles,charges,and ions are intricately influenced by bubbles.This phenomenon is referred to as bubble-associated mass transfer.Like water management in fuel cells,effective bubble management is crucial in electrolysers,as its failure can result in various overpotential losses,such as activation losses,ohmic losses,and mass transfer losses,ultimately degrading the AEMWE performance.Despite significant advancements in the development of new materials and techniques in AEMWE,there is an urgent need for a comprehensive discussion focused on GDEs,with a particular emphasis on bubbleassociated mass transfer phenomena.This review aims to highlight recent findings regarding mass transfer in GDEs,particularly the impacts of bubble accumulation;and presents the latest advancements in designing CLs and GDLs to mitigate bubble-related issues.It is worth noting that a series of innovative bubble-free-GDE designs for water electrolysis are also emphasized in this review.This review is expected to be a valuable reference for gaining a deeper understanding of bubble-related mass transfer,especially the complex bubble behavior associated with GDEs,and for developing innovative practical strategies to advance AEMWE for green hydrogen production.

文摘This study aims to enhance the maneuvering advantages of the waterjet unit through parametric design,performance evaluation,and optimization of the one-piece waterjet propulsion steering and reversing gear(SRG).The SRG’s performance evaluation stems mainly from the effect of the free surface,the varying sailing speeds of the ship,and its performance while functioning at the stern of the waterjet-propelled vessel.Parameters such as the length,width,and height of the steering gear,as well as the inclination,width,and curvature of the reversing gear,significantly influence the SRG.Although the free surface has a great impact on the force of the SRG,its performance trend remains unaffected.When the SRG operates at the stern of the ship,the optimized scheme’s lateral force improves by an average of 8.08%for sailing with a rudder angle condition and an average of 45.69%for reversing sailing with a rudder angle condition.The longitudinal force of the optimized scheme improves by more than 23%when sailing without a rudder angle condition and by an average of 31.75%when sailing with a reversed rudder angle condition.Additionally,the speed of the rotor has a minimal effect on the lateral force and a significant effect on the longitudinal force.

文摘Background GOSSYM is a mechanistic,process-based cotton model that can simulate cotton crop growth and development,yield,and fiber quality.Its fiber quality module was developed based on controlled experiments explicitly conducted on the Texas Marker^(-1)(TM1)variety,potentially making its functional equations more aligned with this cultivar.To assess the model’s broader applicability,this study analyzed fiber quality data from 40 upland cotton cultivars,including TM1.The measured fiber quality from all cultivars was then compared with the modelsimulated fiber quality.Results Among the 40 upland cultivars,fiber strength varied from 28.4 cN·tex^(-1) to 34.6 cN·tex^(-1),fiber length ranged from 27.1 mm to 33.3 mm,micronaire value ranged from 2.7 to 4.6,and length uniformity index varied from 82.3%to 85.5%.The model simulated fiber quality closely matched the measured values for TM1,with the absolute percentage error(APE)being less than 0.92%for fiber strength,fiber length,and length uniformity index and 4.7%for micronaire.However,significant differences were observed for the other cultivars.The Pearson correlation coefficient(r)between the measured and simulated values was negative for all fiber quality traits,and Wilmotts’s index of agreement(WIA)was below 0.45,indicating a strong model bias toward TM1 without incorporating cultivar-specific parameters.After incorporating cultivar-specific parameters,the model’s performance improved significantly,with an average r-value of 0.84 and WIA of 0.88.Conclusions The adopted methodology and estimated cultivar-specific parameters improved the model’s simulation accuracy.This approach can be applied to newer cotton cultivars,enhancing the GOSSYM model’s utility and its applicability for agricultural management and policy decisions.

文摘Background:Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related mortality,and while low-dose computed tomography screening may reduce mortality,emerging prognostic models show superior discriminative efficacy compared to age-and smoking history-based screening.However,further research is needed to assess their reliability in predicting lung cancer risk in high-risk patients.Methods:This study evaluated the predictive performance and quality of existing lung cancer prognostic models through a systematic review and meta-analysis.A comprehensive search was conducted in PubMed,Cochrane,Web of Science,CNKI,and Wanfang for articles published between January 1,2000,and February 13,2025,identifying population-basedmodels incorporating all available modeling data.Results:Among 72 analyzed studies,models were developed from Asian(28 studies,including 23 Chinese cohorts)and European/American(48 studies)populations,with only 6 focusing on nonsmokers.Twenty-one models included genetic markers,15 used clinical factors,and 40 integrated epidemiological predictors.Although 37 models underwent external validation,only 4 demonstrated minimal bias and clinical applicability.A meta-analysis of 11 repeatedly validated models revealed calibration and discrimination,though some lacked calibration data.Conclusions:Few lung cancer prognostic models exist for nonsmokers.Most models exhibit poor predictive performance in external validations,with significant bias and limited application scope.Widespread external validation,standardized model development,and reporting techniques are needed to accurately identify high-risk individuals and ensure applicability across diverse populations.

文摘OBJECTIVE:To enhance the understanding of identifying personalized pharmacotherapy options in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),and further support the registration of new TCM drugs.METHODS:Generalized Boosted Models and XGBoost were employed to construct a classification model to identify the bad prognosis factors in resistant hypertension(RH)patients.Furthermore,we used association analysis to explore the rules of"symptomsyndrome"and"symptom-herb"for the major influencing factors,in order to summarize prescription pattern and applicable patients of TCM.RESULTS:Patients with major adverse cardiac events mostly have complex symptoms of phlegm,stasis,deficiency and fire intermingled with each other,and finally summarized the human experience of using Chinese herbal medicine to precisely intervene in some symptoms of RH patients on the basis of conventional Western medical treatment.CONCLUSIONS:Machine learning algorithms can make full use of human use experience and evidence to save clinical trial resources and accelerate the development of TCM varieties.

文摘Objective To determine the correlation between traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)inspec-tion of spirit classification and the severity grade of depression based on facial features,offer-ing insights for intelligent intergrated TCM and western medicine diagnosis of depression.Methods Using the Audio-Visual Emotion Challenge and Workshop(AVEC 2014)public dataset on depression,which conclude 150 interview videos,the samples were classified ac-cording to the TCM inspection of spirit classification:Deshen(得神,presence of spirit),Shaoshen(少神,insufficiency of spirit),and Shenluan(神乱,confusion of spirit).Meanwhile,based on Beck Depression Inventory-II(BDI-II)score for the severity grade of depression,the samples were divided into minimal(0-13,Q1),mild(14-19,Q2),moderate(20-28,Q3),and severe(29-63,Q4).Sixty-eight landmarks were extracted with a ResNet-50 network,and the feature extracion mode was stadardized.Random forest and support vectior machine(SVM)classifiers were used to predict TCM inspection of spirit classification and the severity grade of depression,respectively.A Chi-square test and Apriori association rule mining were then applied to quantify and explore the relationships.Results The analysis revealed a statistically significant and moderately strong association be-tween TCM spirit classification and the severity grade of depression,as confirmed by a Chi-square test(χ^(2)=14.04,P=0.029)with a Cramer’s V effect size of 0.243.Further exploration us-ing association rule mining identified the most compelling rule:“moderate depression(Q3)→Shenluan”.This rule demonstrated a support level of 5%,indicating this specific co-occur-rence was present in 5%of the cohort.Crucially,it achieved a high Confidence of 86%,mean-ing that among patients diagnosed with Q3,86%exhibited the Shenluan pattern according to TCM assessment.The substantial Lift of 2.37 signifies that the observed likelihood of Shenlu-an manifesting in Q3 patients is 2.37 times higher than would be expected by chance if these states were independent-compelling evidence of a highly non-random association.Conse-quently,Shenluan emerges as a distinct and core TCM diagnostic manifestation strongly linked to Q3,forming a clinically significant phenotype within this patient subgroup.
文摘Copper(Cu)-based catalysts show significant potential for producing high value-added C_(2+)products in electrocatalytic CO_(2)/CO reduction reactions(CO(2)RR).However,the structural reconfiguration during operation poses substantial challenges in identifying the intrinsic catalytic active site,especially under similar mass transport conditions.Herein,three typical and commercial Cu-based catalysts(Cu,CuO,and Cu_(2)O)are chosen as representatives to elucidate the structure-activity relationship of CORR in the membrane electrode assembly electrolyzer.Notably,only the Cu catalyst demonstrates the most suppression of hydrogen evolution reaction,thus achieving the highest FE of 86.7% for C_(2+)products at a current density of 500 mA cm^(-2) and maintaining a stable electrolysis over 110 h at a current of 200 mA cm^(-2).The influence of chemical valence state of Cu,electrochemical surface area,and local pH were firstly investigated and ruled out for the significant FE differences.Finally,based on the structure analysis from high resolution transmission electron microscope,OH-adsorption,in situ infrared spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations,it is suggested that the asymmetric C-C coupling(via ^(*)CHO and ^(*)CO)is the most probable reaction pathway for forming C_(2+)products,with Cu(100)-dominant grain boundaries(GBs)being the most favorable active sites.These findings provide deeper insights into the synergistic relationship between crystal facets and GBs in electrocatalytic systems.
文摘Rare earth elements(REEs) were extracted from phosphogypsum(PG) using an indirect leaching method that produces CaCO_(3).The carbonation process transforms PG into CaCO_(3),and a potential source of value is the(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4) fertilizer.The calcium carbonate byproduct is rich in REEs that are originally present in PG.Calcium carbonate,a byproduct of PG carbonation and a rich source of REEs,could dissolve in nitric acid to produce a calcium nitrate leach solution that contains RE nitrate.Subsequently,the most widely used solvent extraction technique can make use of an environmentally benign nitrate ionic liquid.Cyphos IL 101(trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium chloride) is transformed into trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium nitrate([P_(66614)][NO_(3)]) ionic liquid by adding 2.5 mol/L potassium nitrate.The extraction examinations were tested by equilibration of 2 mL of [P_(66614)][NO_(3)] with 2 mL of a synthetic solution of 1000 mg/L of individual La,Ce,and Nd to gain the optimal extraction conditions.The high extraction efficiency of La,Ce,and Nd was gained by stirring a 1/1 aqueous/organic phase ratio and 3 mol/L NH_(4)NO_(3)(as salting out) at 800 r/min for 40 min at 50℃ to decrease the viscosity of [P_(66614)][NO_(3)].The La(Ⅲ),Ce(Ⅲ),and Nd(Ⅲ) stripping efficiencies were examined from their loaded [P_(66614)][NO_(3)] ionic liquid by 1/1 A/O ratio of acidified water,800 r/min stirring speed,and 25℃.After nine cycles,the extraction and stirring efficiency for the La,Ce,and Nd drop to about 80%.The extraction and stripping parameters are applied to the RE leachate from PG to gain the RE oxide with an assay of 92.67%.

文摘Familial androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS), resulting from inherited mutations in the androgen receptor (AR)gene, has traditionally been examined within the framework of disorders of sex development. However, growingevidence indicates that AR dysfunction also disrupts systemic metabolic homeostasis, predisposing affectedindividuals to insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes mellitus. This article synthesizes recent advances in genetics,transcriptomics, and physiology to elucidate how AR mutations drive tissue-specific metabolic reprogramming inkey organs, including pancreatic β-cells, skeletal muscle, liver, and adipose tissue. Particular attention is given to anewly identified familial AR variant (c.2117A>G;p.Asn706Ser), which not only broadens the known mutationalspectrum of AIS but also underscores the clinical importance of early metabolic risk screening in this population.We further examine how pubertal stage, hormone replacement therapy, and sex-specific signaling pathwaysinteract to influence long-term metabolic outcomes. Lastly, we propose an integrative management framework thatincorporates genetic diagnosis, endocrine surveillance, and personalized pharmacological strategies aimed atreducing the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiometabolic complications in individuals with AIS. Distinctfrom previous AIS-centered reviews, this work integrates metabolic and endocrine perspectives into the traditionaldevelopmental paradigm, offering a more comprehensive understanding of disease risk and translational management.

文摘Objectives:Bladder Cancer(BC)is one of the most commonly diagnosed malignancies worldwide,with high rates of mortality and morbidity.It can be classified as non-muscle invasive bladder cancer(NMIBC)or muscle-invasive bladder cancer(MIBC),with radical cystectomy being the treatment for MIBC,which significantly reduces quality of life.MicroRNAs(miRs)act as critical genetic regulators,with both oncogenic and tumor-suppressive roles.MiR-10a is described as a tumor suppressor in various neoplasms,but its role in BC is controversial.This study aims to assess the activity of miR-10a in cellular invasion and proliferation in two distinct BC cell lines.Methods:The study used high-grade T24 and low-grade RT4 bladder cell lines.Cells were transfected with miR-10a mimic or a non-targeting control.Transfection efficiency was validated by qPCR.Cell proliferation was cultured for 10–14 days.Cell migration and invasion were evaluated using Matrigel.All assays were conducted in triplicate.Results:The T24 cells transfected with miR-10a presented decreased cellular proliferation and invasion compared to the Scramble(p=0.0481 and p<0.0001,respectively).In the RT4 cell line,there was only a significant reduction in cellular proliferation after miR-10a transfection(p=0.0029).Conclusions:Our findings suggest that miR-10a has a tumoral suppressor role in BC,demonstrating higher efficacy in high-grade cells.

文摘To comprehensively understand the Arctic and Antarctic upper atmosphere, it is often crucial to analyze various data that are obtained from many regions. Infrastructure that promotes such interdisciplinary studies on the upper atmosphere has been developed by a Japanese inter-university project called the Inter-university Upper atmosphere Global Observation Network (1UGONET). The objective of this paper is to describe the infrastructure and tools developed by IUGONET. We focus on the data analysis software. It is written in Interactive Data Language (IDL) and is a plug-in for the THEMIS Data Analysis Software suite (TDAS), which is a set of IDL libraries used to visualize and analyze satellite- and ground-based data. We present plots of upper atmospheric data provided by IUGONET as examples of applications, and verify the usefulness of the software in the study of polar science. We discuss IUGONET's new and unique developments, i.e., an executable file of TDAS that can run on the IDL Virtual Machine, IDL routines to retrieve metadata from the IUGONET database, and an archive of 3-D simulation data that uses the Common Data Format so that it can easily be used with TDAS.

文摘The microbiota is strongly association with cancer.Studies have shown significant differences in the gastric microbiota between patients with gastric cancer(GC)patients and noncancer patients,suggesting that the microbiota may play a role in the development of GC.Although Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection is widely recognized as a primary risk factor for GC,recent studies based on microbiota sequencing technology have revealed that non-H.pylori microbes also have a significant impact on GC.A recent study discovered that Streptococcus anginosus(S.anginosus)is more prevalent in the gastric mucosa of patients with GC than in that of those without GC.S.anginosus infection can spontaneously induce chronic gastritis,mural cell atrophy,mucoid chemotaxis,and heterotrophic hyperplasia,which promote the development of precancerous lesions of GC(PLGC).S.anginosus also disrupts the gastric barrier function,promotes the proliferation of GC cells,and inhibits apoptosis.However,S.anginosus is underrepresented in the literature.Recent reports suggest that it may cause precancerous lesions,indicating its emerging pathogenicity.Modern novel molecular diagnostic techniques,such as polymerase chain reaction,genetic testing,and Ultrasensitive Chromosomal Aneuploidy Detection,can be used to gastric precancerous lesions via microbial markers.Therefore,we present a concise summary of the relationship between S.anginosus and PLGC.Our aim was to further investigate new methods of preventing and treating PLGC by exploring the pathogenicity of S.anginosus on PLGC.
文摘Group discussion teaching technique for small groups and encouragement of critical but constructive and creative thinking for finding new and efficient solutions can lead to provision of better health and medical services that is defined in clinical setting, as the clinical psychology finds a way for curing and education. The present study was conducted with the aim to compare the effects of creative group teaching and educational booklet on interpersonal skills of midwives in a clinical setting. The present study was conducted on 97 midwifery graduates working in hospitals in Kerman Province, in two groups of educational booklet (49 midwives) and educational workshop (48 midwives) who participated in a 3-day creative teaching workshop in summer 2015. Creative problem-solving teaching intervention group was taught through educational workshop method, including small group and team working, group discussion and mini lectures. Midwifery 1 intervention group was provided with an educational booklet validated by professors of Nursing and Midwifery School for independent and individual study by midwives working in Kerman Province hospitals. The two groups were matched in terms of personal details. Hospitals were randomly selected, and midwives were selected by quota sampling. Interpersonal communication skills of both groups were assessed before and after intervention, and two months later using Interpersonal Communication Skills Test. The results obtained were analyzed in SPSS-16 using descriptive statistics, including frequency and percentage, mean and standard deviation, and inferential statistics including U-Mann-Whitney, paired t, independent t, repeated measures ANOVA tests at significance level of P P P P P < 0.001). Both teaching methods improved midwives’ interpersonal communication skills. Therefore, standardized educational booklets which produce cost-effective similar results are recommended.
文摘Recycling is viewed as a key component in a circular economy and serves as an ideal solution for promoting sustainability.During the global plastic crisis,plastic recycling practices have been adopted worldwide,leading to the production of various products made from recycled plastics(PRP).Nevertheless,a gap persists between consumption and demand for such products,which is primarily attributed to a lack of comprehension from the consumer perspective.Given the pivotal role consumers play in the adoption of these products,this study explores consumers’intentions to purchase PRP.This is particularly significant in Vietnam,which is an emerging economy aspiring to achieve the objectives of a circular economy and sustainable development.Utilizing an integrated cognitive-emotional framework comprising the Valence Theory and the Norm Activation Model,data from 564 Vietnamese students were gathered and analyzed using structural equation modeling.The results show that awareness of consequences is a major driver of consumer purchase intentions,followed by perceived ease of application and monetary incentives.The results also indicate that health concerns have the strongest effect on purchase intention and in the negative side,meaning that the health-related risk is the primary concern for consumers during the decision-making process.This research holds substantial value for academics and managers,as it aids in the theoretical exploration and the formulation of strategies to improve consumer acceptance of PRP.
文摘Handwritten character recognition is considered challenging compared with machine-printed characters due to the different human writing styles.Arabic is morphologically rich,and its characters have a high similarity.The Arabic language includes 28 characters.Each character has up to four shapes according to its location in the word(at the beginning,middle,end,and isolated).This paper proposed 12 CNN architectures for recognizing handwritten Arabic characters.The proposed architectures were derived from the popular CNN architectures,such as VGG,ResNet,and Inception,to make them applicable to recognizing character-size images.The experimental results on three well-known datasets showed that the proposed architectures significantly enhanced the recognition rate compared to the baseline models.The experiments showed that data augmentation improved the models’accuracies on all tested datasets.The proposed model outperformed most of the existing approaches.The best achieved results were 93.05%,98.30%,and 96.88%on the HIJJA,AHCD,and AIA9K datasets.
