In order to synthesize high-quality intermediate views, the block matching method together with a simplified multi-window technique and dynamic programming is used in the process of disparity estimation. Then occlusion detection is performed to locate occluded regions and their disparities are compensated. After the projecton of the left-to-right and right-to-left disparities onto the intermediate image, intermediate view is synthesized considering occluded regions. Experimental results show that our synthesis method can obtain intermediate views with higher quality.展开更多

In recognition phase we combine the confidence measures with incomplete matching, which considerably improve the quality of recognition. In this paper, we evaluate performance of the con...We have constructed a compactly supported biorthogonal wavelet that approximates the modulation transfer function (MTF) of human visual system in the frequency domain. In this paper, we evaluate performance of the constructed wavelet, and compare it with the widely used Daubechies 9 7, Daubechies 9 3 and GBCW 9 7 wavelets. The result shows that coding performance of the constructed wavelet is better than Daubechies 9 3, and is competitive with Daubechies 9 7 and GBCW 9 7 wavelets. Like Daubechies 9 3 wavelet, the filter coefficients of the constructed wavelet are all dyadic fractions, and the tap is less than Daubechies 9 7 and GBCW 9 7. It has an attractive feature in the realization of discrete wavelet transform.展开更多

Due to the anisotropic elastic properties o...An analytical model using the Poisson theory is proposed to predict the SO Lamb wave scattering from a cylindrical inhomogeneity in a transversely isotropic composite plate. Due to the anisotropic elastic properties of the plate, the suitability of the model is first examined by the dispersion curve of an SO wave by using approximate Poisson theory compared to the exact Lamb solution. It is found that the Poisson theory can accurately describe the behavior of the SO wave at low frequency when the incident SO wave is parallel or perpendicular to the fiber direction of the transversely isotropic composite plate. On this basis, making use of the wave function expansion technique and coupling conditions at the inhomogeneity defect boundary, the far field scattered patterns of various inhomogeneity sizes and properties are then explored. The present results reveal that the scattering patterns are strongly dependent on the size and stiffness of the cylindrical inhomogeneity.展开更多

The network architecture, functional model of edge nodes and core nodes, the control packet format, a novel burst assembly scheme at ingress nodes and scheduling algorithm of core nodes are presented. The basic idea is to apply DiffServ capable burst assembly at ingress nodes and perform different per hop behavior (PHB) electronic treatments for control packets of different QoS class services at core nodes. Simulation results show that the proposed schemes can provide the best differentiated service for expedited forwarding (EF), assured forwarding (AF) and best effort (BE) services in terms of end-to-end delay, throughput and IP packet loss probability. The CFC model represents the speech and pronunciat...A speaker model called complete feature corpus (CFC) and an evaluation algorithm of mutual information (MIE) are proposed for text-independent speaker identification. The CFC model represents the speech and pronunciation characteristics of speaker by a feature vector corpus which was trained from some typical speech samples. It hires multi-step mini-max search matching scheme for MIE algorithm to evaluate the similarity of speech features between input speech and the models in distance and information space. Maximum mutual information (MMI) decision criterion is used to decide the identity of speaker. Experiments on performance analysis with comparison to GMM method show that proposed model and evaluation algorithm are quite effective and presented a higher performance than ordinary GMM method.展开更多
