The adhesion between warp sizing and fiber was systematically studied by using the roving method.Cotton roving and polyester roving were sized with various concentrations between 0.01%and 2.50%of acid-thinned starch,p...The adhesion between warp sizing and fiber was systematically studied by using the roving method.Cotton roving and polyester roving were sized with various concentrations between 0.01%and 2.50%of acid-thinned starch,polyvinyl alcohol and water-soluble polyester sizing,respectively,and tensile property of the sized roving was tested accordingly.The break force of the sized roving was considered as the adhesion force of the sizing to the fiber in the roving method.The experimental results show that the effects of sizing film strength and fiber strength on the adhesive force can be weakened when the concentration 0.5%of size paste is used,instead of 1%in the roving method.The size morphology in the sized roving and on the surface was observed through scanning electron microscopy,in the form of penetration and coverage of the sizing in or on the roving.On the other hand,the Young-Dupréequation was used to calculate the adhesion work.The advantages and disadvantages of roving method and the adhesion work method were compared.The adhesion obtained by both two methods reflects the rule of chemical similarity between warp sizing and fiber.展开更多

To improve the efficiency of modeling, 3D yarn is usually designed...Modeling the 3D geometric configuration of yarn is the base of building the 3D fabric structure. The surfaces of the yarns are modeled by many facets. To improve the efficiency of modeling, 3D yarn is usually designed by Bezier curve, spline curve or B-spline curve on the principle of Computer Graphics. The paper reviews different 3D modeling methods for single yarn from the view of cross-section and central line. Some improvements for a better visual effect such as inserting twist and hairiness are illustrated as well. Based on the single yarn, the folded yarn and some fancy yarns can also be modeled in 3D space as long as the cross-sections of the control sections of the component single yarn are determined. Applications of the various 3D yarns are demonstrated. The advantages and the drawbacks of various methods are explained and compared as well. Comparatively speaking, modeling technology based on spline curve is more convenient and flexible, perhaps it is the most popular tool since it is capable of designing different kinds of yarns mentioned above and gets the maximum support from the different developing platforms such as OpenGL, 3DS-MAX, Solid Works CAD, etc.展开更多

Tetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that can rapidly inhibit bacterial growth,but its excessive usage and improper handling can lead to its discharge into water,soil,and other ecosystems,posing a significant h...Tetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that can rapidly inhibit bacterial growth,but its excessive usage and improper handling can lead to its discharge into water,soil,and other ecosystems,posing a significant hazard to ecology and human health.Photocatalysis is considered the most attractive solution for addressing this problem.However,most photocatalysts suffer from nanoparticle agglomeration,high electron-hole recombination rates,and low degradation efficiency.Herein,we offer a straightforward in situ hydrothermal phase separation strategy for synthesizing ZnIn_(2)S_(4)particles on cellulose/chitosan composite sponges for the effective adsorption and degradation of tetracycline in wastewater.The prepared ZnIn2 S4 composite sponge displayed a remarkably porous structure(with pore diameters of 150-500μm),uniformly distributed ZnIn_(2)S_(4)nanoparticles(with diameters of approximately 15 nm),a narrow bandgap(2.88 eV),and exceptional compressibility.Owing to these characteristics and the affinity sites of the polysaccharide sponge skeleton,ZnIn_(2)S_(4)composite sponges represent an innovative model of synergistic adsorption-photocatalytic degradation.The prepared ZnIn_(2)S_(4)composite sponge had a removal efficiency of up to 91.5%for tetracycline under sunlight irradiation and remained effective after eight consecutive cycles.This study highlights the potential application prospects of ZnIn_(2)S_(4)composite sponges in the sustainable and environmentally friendly treatment of antibiotics.展开更多
