BACKGROUND The uncertainties about coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),the change in routine,lifestyles and the reduction of physical contact can cause stress,anxiety,emotional overload,poor sleep and even physical health complications.AIM To evaluate the scientific publications available on the relationship between COVID-19 and anxiety experienced in the general population,during the period of social isolation,adopted by governmental organizations and public health policymakers as a measure to contain the spread of cases.METHODS A literature search was performed systematically exploring the PubMed and Medline databases using the following terms classified as MeSH descriptors:(“anxiety”AND“pandemic”AND“COVID-19”).For the search,in the Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde–BVS,Science.gov,Web of Science and National Library plat forms, the following keywords were used: ("anxiety" AND "coronavirus" AND"social isolation"). Thirty-seven peer-reviewed articles were found. PRISMA andthe Downs & Black checklist were used for qualitative evaluation.RESULTSAfter applying the inclusion criteria, seven (n = 7) original scientific articles wereselected. The collated evidence demonstrated increased levels of symptoms ofanxiety and depression during the period of social isolation. The populationbetween 21 to 40 years was most affected. The risk of severe depression was twiceas high at the epicenter of the pandemic. Sleep quality was significantly impaired.Questions about politics, religion, and consumption of products from China werefound to generate fear and anticipate probable changes in the pattern of postpandemicconsumption. Social isolation exacerbated feelings of extreme hopelessness,sadness, loneliness and suicidal ideation.CONCLUSIONWe conclude that there is a potential relationship between social isolation duringthe COVID-19 pandemic and symptoms of anxiety. It is important to note that thedirect and indirect costs of not identifying the detrimental effects of thisphenomenon and neglecting strategies for intervention could lead to a significantpsychological burden on society in several aspects after social isolation. 展开更多

For centuries, insects have been used as food due to their availability and easiness in raising that is much less burdensome for environment than animal husbandry breeding. Mealworm (Tenebrio molitor L.) is a store-pest of which larvae are consumed by people. The aim of the work was to determine the nutritional value of larvae of mealworm (Tenebrio molitor L.). The material was a three-month-old mealworm larva 25 -30 mmin length. Larvae were boiled for 3 min and next dried in 60℃. Contents of water, ash, minerals, protein, fat and fat acids profile have been determined. Fresh larvae contained 56% of water, 18% of total protein, 22% of total fat and 1.55% of ash. High contents of minerals were found in the larvae: magnesium (87.5 mg/100g), zinc (4.2 mg/100g), iron (3.8 mg/100g), copper (0.78 mg/100g) and manganese (0.44 mg/100g). The proportion of n-6/n-3 fatty acids was very advantageous and amounted to 6.76. Larvae powder contained twice higher content of protein, fat, ash and minerals. Larva of mealworm is a valuable source of nutrients in amounts more profitable for human organism than traditional meat food. Powdered larva is a high-grade product to be applied as a supplement to traditional meals. 展开更多

Genetic divergence was studied in selected 36 genotypes of Dalbergia sissoo Roxb. on the basis of seven morphological parameters. The divergence among genotypes was estimated by Mahalanobis method and genotypes were grouped into clusters by Tocher's method. All the genotypes were classified into seven distinct clusters on the basis of seven morphological traits. Cluster 1 was the largest with 25 genotypes followed by Cluster 2 (four genotypes). Cluster 3, 5, 6 and 7 were the divergent clusters. The D2 analysis revealed that D2 value (39.42) between clone 5040 and clone 201 was recorded maximum. The intra-cluster distance ranged from 0.00 (Cluster 3, 5, 6 and 7) to 3.89 (Cluster 1), the Cluster 3 (clone 33) was the most divergent cluster with maximum inter cluster distance (13.97) with the Cluster 7. By the divergence analysis, the parents for hybridization from diverse clusters could be selected for heterotic hybrids. 展开更多

Predictive simulation of engine combustion is key to understanding the underlying complicated physicochemical processes,improving engine performance,and reducing pollutant emissions.Critical issues as turbulence modeling,turbulence-chemistry interaction,and accommodation of detailed chemical kinetics in complex flows remain challenging and essential for highfidelity combustion simulation.This paper reviews the current status of the state-of-the-art large eddy simulation(LES)/probability density function(PDF)/detailed chemistry approach that can address the three challenging modelling issues.PDF as a subgrid model for LES is formulated and the hybrid mesh-particle method for LES/PDF simulations is described.Then the development need in micro-mixing models for the PDF simulations of turbulent premixed combustion is identified.Finally the different acceleration methods for detailed chemistry are reviewed and a combined strategy is proposed for further development. 展开更多

A safe and reliable nication network will be of in vivo nanoscale commu- great benefit for medical diagnosis and monitoring as well as medical implant communication. This review article provides a brief introduction to nanoscale and molecular networking in general and provides opinions on the role of active networking for in vivo nanoscale information transport. While there are many in vivo communication mechanisms that can be leveraged, for example, forms of cell signaling, gap junctions, calcium and ion signaling, and circulatory borne communication, this review examines two in particular: molecular motor transport and neuronal information communication. Molecular motors transport molecules representing information and neural coding operates by means of the action potential; these mechan- isms are reviewed within the theoretical framework of an active network. This review suggests that an active networking paradigm is necessary at the nanoscale along with a new communication constraint, namely, minimiz- ing the communication impact upon the living environment. The goal is to assemble efficient nanoscale and molecular communication channels while minimizing disruption to the host organism. 展开更多

Effect of nonlinear and noncollinear transformation strain pathways in phase-field modeling of nucleation and growth during martensite transformation

The phase-field microelasticity theory has exhibited great capacities in studying elasticity and its effects on microstructure evolution due to various structural and chemical non-uniformities(impurities and defects)in solids.However,the usually adopted linear and/or collinear coupling between eigen transformation strain tensors and order parameters in phase-field microelasticity have excluded many nonlinear transformation pathways that have been revealed in many atomistic calculations.Here we extend phasefield microelasticity by adopting general nonlinear and noncollinear eigen transformation strain paths,which allows for the incorporation of complex transformation pathways and provides a multiscale modeling scheme linking atomistic mechanisms with overall kinetics to better describe solid-state phase transformations.Our case study on a generic cubic to tetragonal martensitic transformation shows that nonlinear transformation pathways can significantly alter the nucleation and growth rates,as well as the configuration and activation energy of the critical nuclei.It is also found that for a pure-shear martensitic transformation,depending on the actual transformation pathway,the nuclei and austenite/martensite interfaces can have nonzero far-field hydrostatic stress and may thus interact with other crystalline defects such as point defects and/or background tension/compression field in a more profound way than what is expected from a linear transformation pathway.Further significance is discussed on the implication of vacancy clustering at austenite/martensite interfaces and segregation at coherent precipitate/matrix interfaces. 展开更多
