Using the new model system, the distribution of black carbon aerosols and their radiative effect over the China region are investigated. The influences of BC aerosole on the atmospheric radiative transfer and on the air temperature, land surface temperature, and total rainfall are analyzed. It is found that BC aerosols induce a positive radiative forcing at the top of the atmosphere (TOA), which is dominated by shortwave radiative forcing. The maximum radiative forcing occurs in North China in July and in South China in April. At the same time, negative radiative forcing is observed on the surface. Based on the radiative forcing comparison between clear sky and cloudy sky, it is found that cloud can enforce the TOA positive radiative forcing and decrease the negative surface radiative forcing. The responses of the climate system in July to the radiative forcing due to BC aerosols are the decrease in the air temperature in the middle and lower reaches of the Changjiang River and Huaihe area and most areas of South China, and the weak increase or decrease in air temperature over North China. The total rainfall in the middle and lower reaches of the Changjiang River area is increased, but it decreased in North China in July.展开更多

One is high indoor air temperature, for this reason the indoor climate is far beyond the thermal comfort standard; the other is the inhomogeneons temperature distribution of the inner wall surfaces, and high temperature of the inner surface of the roof causes much scorching to the head of occupant. This is the characteristic of such rooms. Both features mentioned above should be considered comprehensively for the evaluation of indoor thermal environment of the top-floor rooms with asymmetric radiant field. In order to characterize the indoor thermal environment of the rooms, the heat stress index, HSI and radiant heat flux reaching human head, Q_R should be introduced simultaneously as thermal indexes for the indoor climate evaluation. Previous reviews of this topic have focused on certain aspects of TCM treatment rather than an overall assessment of their value and mechanisms of action. Both the Chinese and English medical literatures were reviewed to identify where TCM might be of value in the treatment of HCC and the justifcation for such treatment. TCM treatment corrects the “internal disequilibriums” thought to be responsible for the development, growth, and spread of the tumor. It has also been used to manage symptoms associa-ted with HCC and the adverse effects of chemo- and radiation-therapies. Recent research has documented the precise effects of TCM on tumor biology. There are also increasing efforts to identify which of the many components of TCM herbal remedies are primarily res-ponsible for these beneficial effects. This review out-lines the benefits of TCM treatment of HCC and the laboratory data describing their anti-tumor properties.展开更多

This may induce chronic increases in blood pressure. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of hypertension in people working in occupations generally accepted as high stress in comparison to those working in an environment where less of these obvious high stressors were present. Methods: Resting blood pressure was measured by TrUBP in 1067 on-duty first responders (fire, paramedic, and police), and in participants generally associated with a lower-stress work environment (transit workers, city and bank employees, factory workers and legislature employees). Results: The average age, systolic and diastolic blood pressures were significantly lower in those employees working in a high-stress environment than those in a low-stress job. This difference was observed in both male and female sexes. Conclusions: Our data do not support an association of high resting blood pressure values in those employed in activities typically associated with a high-stress urban working environment.展开更多
