Background:Rosa chinensis Jacq.and Rosa rugosa Thunb.are not only of ornamental value,but also edible flowers and the flower buds have been listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia as traditional medicines.The two plants h...Background:Rosa chinensis Jacq.and Rosa rugosa Thunb.are not only of ornamental value,but also edible flowers and the flower buds have been listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia as traditional medicines.The two plants have some differences in efficacy,but the flower buds are easily confused for similar traits.In addition,large-scale cultivation of ornamental rose flowers may lead to a decrease in the effective components of medicinal roses.Therefore,it is necessary to study the chemical composition and make quality evaluation of Rosae Chinensis Flos(Yueji)and Rosae Rugosae Flos(Meigui).Methods:In this study,40 batches of samples including Meigui and Yueji from different regions in China were collected to establish high-performance liquid chromatography fingerprints.Then,the fingerprints data was analyzed using principal component analysis,hierarchical cluster analysis,and partial least squares discriminant analysis analysis chemometrics to obtain information on intergroup differences,and non-targeted metabolomic techniques were applied to identify and compare chemical compositions of samples which were chosen from groups with large differences.Differential compounds were screened by orthogonal partial least-squares discriminant analysis and S-plot,and finally multi-component quantification was performed to comprehensively evaluate the quality of Yueji and Meigui.Results:The similarity between the fingerprints of 40 batches roses and the reference print R was 0.73 to 0.93,indicating that there were similarities and differences between the samples.Through principal component analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis of fingerprints data,the samples from different origins and varieties were intuitively divided into four groups.Partial least-squares discriminant analysis analysis showed that Meigui and Yueji cluster into two categories and the model was reliable.A total of 89 compounds were identified by high resolution mass spectrometry,mainly were flavonoids and flavonoid glycosides,as well as phenolic acids.Eight differential components were screened out by orthogonal partial least-squares discriminant analysis and S-plot analysis.Quantitative analyses of the eight compounds,including gallic acid,ellagic acid,hyperoside,isoquercitrin,etc.,showed that Yueji was generally richer in phenolic acids and flavonoids than Meigui,and the quality of Yueji from Shandong and Hebei was better.It is worth noting that Xinjiang rose is rich in various components,which is worth focusing on more in-depth research.Conclusion:In this study,the fingerprints of Meigui and Yueji were established.The chemical components information of roses was further improved based on non-targeted metabolomics and mass spectrometry technology.At the same time,eight differential components of Meigui and Yueji were screened out and quantitatively analyzed.The research results provided a scientific basis for the quality control and rational development and utilization of Rosae Chinensis Flos and Rosae Rugosae Flos,and also laid a foundation for the study of their pharmacodynamic material basis.展开更多

In this paper, the application of LF-NMR combined stoichiometry in the detection of oilseed oil content, the physicochemical properties of different oil systems, the accurate detection of different indices(i.e., acid value, peroxide value, free fatty acid, total polar compounds, and viscosity) of edible oils and the identification of edible oil adulteration are reviewed and discussed. This study provides a reference for further rapid and nondestructive control of oil quality and accurate evaluation of oil-containing systems. Pyrus pyrifolia,commonly known as sand pear,is a key economic fruit tree in temperate regions that possesses highly diverse germplasm resources for pear quality improvement.However,research on the relationship between...Pyrus pyrifolia,commonly known as sand pear,is a key economic fruit tree in temperate regions that possesses highly diverse germplasm resources for pear quality improvement.However,research on the relationship between resistance and fruit quality traits in the breeding of fruit species like pear is limited.Pan-transcriptomes effectively capture genetic information from coding regions and reflect variations in gene expression between individuals.Here,we constructed a pan-transcriptome based on 506 samples from different tissues of sand pear,and explored the intrinsic relationships among phenotypes and the selection for disease resistance during improvement based on expression presence/absence variations(eP AVs).The pan-transcriptome in this study contains 156,744 transcripts,among which the novel transcripts showed significant enrichment in the defense response.Interestingly,disease resistance genes are highly expressed in landraces of pear but have been selected against during the improvement of this perennial tree species.We found that the genetically diverse landraces can be divided into two subgroups and inferred that they have undergone different dispersal processes.Through co-expression network analysis,we confirmed that the formation of stone cells in pears,the synthesis of fruit anthocyanins,and the ability to resist stress are interrelated.They are jointly regulated by several modules,and the expression of regulatory genes has significant correlations with these three processes.Moreover,we identified candidate genes such as HKL1 that may affect sugar content and are missing from the reference genome.This study provides insights into the associations between complex fruit traits,while providing a database resource for pear disease resistance and fruit quality breeding.展开更多

The cold plasma(CP)technique was applied to alleviate the contamination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon(PAH)in this investigation.Two different CP treatments methods were implemented in the production of beef patti...The cold plasma(CP)technique was applied to alleviate the contamination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon(PAH)in this investigation.Two different CP treatments methods were implemented in the production of beef patties,to investigate their inhibition and degradation capacity on PAHs.With 5 different cooking oils and fats addition,the inhibition mechanism of in-package cold plasma(ICP)pretreatment was explored from the aspect of raw patties fatty acids composition variation.The results of principal component analysis showed that the first two principal components accounted for more than 80%of the total variation in the original data,indicating that the content of saturated fatty acids was significantly positively correlated with the formation of PAHs.ICP pretreatment inhibited the formation of PAHs by changing the composition of fatty acids,which showed that the total amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids decreased and the total amount of monounsaturated fatty acids increased.Sensory discrimination tests demonstrated there were discernable differences between 2 CP treated samples and the controls,utilization of the ICP pretreatment in meat products processing was expected to achieve satisfying eating quality.In conclusion,CP treatment degraded PAHs through stepwise ring-opening oxidation in 2 reported pathways,the toxicity of PAHs contaminated products was alleviated after CP treatment.展开更多
The effects of cast iron pipe corrosion onwater quality risk and microbial ecology in drinking water distribution systems(DWDSs)were investigated.It was found that trihalomethane(THMs)concentration and antibiotic resi...The effects of cast iron pipe corrosion onwater quality risk and microbial ecology in drinking water distribution systems(DWDSs)were investigated.It was found that trihalomethane(THMs)concentration and antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)increased sharply in the old DWDSs.Under the same residual chlorine concentration conditions,the adenosine triphos-phate concentration in the effluent of old DWDSs(Eff-old)was significantly higher than that in the effluent of newDWDSs.Moreover,stronger bioflocculation ability andweaker hy-drophobicity coexisted in the extracellular polymeric substances of Eff-old,meanwhile,iron particles could be well inserted into the structure of the biofilms to enhance the mechanical strength and stability of the biofilms,hence enhancing the formation of THMs.Old DWDSs significantly influenced the microbial community of bulk water and triggered stronger mi-crobial antioxidant systems response,resulting in higher ARGs abundance.Corroded cast iron pipes induced a unique interaction system of biofilms,chlorine,and corrosion prod-ucts.Therefore,as the age of cast iron pipes increases,the fluctuation of water quality and microbial ecology should be paid more attention to maintain the safety of tap water.展开更多
This study investigated the effects of superheated steam(SS)treatment at different temperatures(120℃,150℃,180℃)on the physicochemical properties of broken rice flour and the quality of broken rice cakes.SS treatmen...This study investigated the effects of superheated steam(SS)treatment at different temperatures(120℃,150℃,180℃)on the physicochemical properties of broken rice flour and the quality of broken rice cakes.SS treatment at 120℃ significantly enhanced the moisture content of broken rice flour(P<0.05).In contrast,treatments at 150℃ and 180℃ caused decrease of moisture content,amylose leaching,and reduction of damaged starch content.After SS treatment,the pasting properties of broken rice flour increased,along with the rising of storage modulus and loss modulus.The proportion of short chains(DP 6-12)in amylopectin increased from 29.42%to 34.80%(P<0.05),which could delay starch retrogradation.Compared with untreated ones,the SS-150 broken rice cakes showed a significantly higher specific volume(2.96 mL/g,P<0.05),more uniform cell structure,and lower hardness(1.66 N)and chewiness(10.22 mJ).After 7 days of storage,cakes from SS-treated rice flour(150℃ and 180℃)had significantly reduced hardness and chewiness.The study demonstrated that SS treatment could improve the properties of broken rice flour and enhance the quality of broken rice cakes,especially at 150℃ and 180℃.This study presents a method for improving the quality of broken rice flour and rice cakes using superheated steam treatment,addressing challenges related to poor flour characteristics and suboptimal cake quality.The findings offer technical and theoretical support for enhancing rice cake production,contributing to the comprehensive utilization of rice resources.展开更多
The quality of Chinese materia medica(CMM)is a challenging and focused topic in the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).A profound comprehension of the morphology,structure,active constituents,and dynam...The quality of Chinese materia medica(CMM)is a challenging and focused topic in the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).A profound comprehension of the morphology,structure,active constituents,and dynamic changes during the whole process of CMM growth is essential,which needs highly precise contemporary techniques for in-depth elucidation.Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)is a cutting-edge tool integrating the benefits of both nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)spectroscopy and imaging technology.With real-time,non-destructive,and in situ detection capabilities,MRI has been previously used for monitoring internal and external structures of plants alongside compounds during physiological processes in vivo.Here,factors involved in the holistic quality evaluation of CMMs were investigated.Given the applications of MRI in various plants,several representative CMMs were used as examples to demonstrate a methodology of quality visualization by MRI,embodying holistically monitoring the real-time macroscopic morphology,mesoscopic structure,and microscopic metabolites nondestructively in situ.Taken together,the review not only presents a pioneering application mode for utilizing MRI for CMM quality visualization but also holds promise for advancing the quality control and evaluation of CMMs.展开更多

The objective of this work was to determine the bacteriological quality of the porridges and purees of weaning consumed by children from 6 to 24 months at the INSE of Guinea. For this, a descriptive study of analytical type was carried out over a period of 4 months at the INSE of Guinea. This study found that total mesophilic flora, faecal streptococci, staphylococci, and salmonella were consistent with sanitary standards in Plantin-enriched peanut paste and groundnut paste samples. They had respective bacteriological qualities of 90% and 60%. Fecal coliform contamination and ASR were observed respectively in the samples of rice husk remnants enriched with peanut paste and planting banana purée with respective values 50% and 40%. From the point of view of tampering, the samples of rice ground meal enriched with groundnut paste and Plantin banana purees were severely affected by the total coliforms at 40% and 60% respectively. In the end, poor hygiene practice during preparation increases the risk of food contamination;however, hygienic measures must be taken to improve the hygienic quality of food to maintain good health of children.展开更多

Ensuring the sustained health and productivity of Fishes in these environments relies heavily on water quality management. This assessment was done to determine the water quality of ten artificial fishponds in the south-eastern part of Sierra Leone using twelve physicochemical factors (pH, BOD, EC, TDS, turbidity, COD, Fe<sup>2+</sup>, Mg<sup>2+</sup>, Ca<sup>2+</sup>, NH<sub>3</sub>, , and alkalinity) to find out the Water Quality Index (WQI) and spatial distribution of respective parameters. The assessment of artificial fishponds using WQI and Inverse Distant Weighting (IDW) integration represents a relatively underexplored area within the domain of environmental water resources. The WQI was determined using the “Weighted Arithmetic Water Quality Index’’ method. The results of WQI in the study area range from 65.05 to 147.26. Several locations have water quality deemed unsuitable for consumption, while others range from good to very poor. It is essential to address and improve water quality in locations categorized as unsuitable for consumption and very poor to ensure safe and healthy water sources. It was also clear from the calculation that the smaller the mean concentration value of the pH as compared to the ideal value (7), the smaller the WQI value and the better the water quality. To keep the artificial fishpond water in good condition, mass domestic use should be controlled, and draining of surrounding organic matter should be stopped in ponds Bo_001, Kenema_001, and Kenema_002.展开更多

This study aims to evaluate the microbiolog...The inadequacy of drinking water distribution by the Chadian Water Company (STE) has led to the proliferation of private wells and boreholes in the city of Abéché. This study aims to evaluate the microbiological quality of the drinking water from these wells and boreholes in the city. Methodology: To carry out this study, a randomized selection of forty-five (45) water points, including nine (9) wells and thirty-six (36) boreholes, was identified, and samples were collected. These samples were sent to the National Water Laboratory (LNE) to test for several microbiological parameters, namely Escherichia coli, total coliforms, fecal coliforms, fecal enterococci, and total aerobic flora. The technique used for this analysis was spread plating and membrane filtration. Results: The average values obtained in the well water are 0.338*104 CFU/100 ml for total coliforms, 0.156*104 CFU/100 ml for fecal coliforms, 0.319*103 CFU/100 ml for Escherichia coli, 33.33 CFU/100 ml for fecal enterococci and 1.385*104 CFU/100 ml for total aerobic flora. For borehole water, the average values obtained are 0.469*104 CFU/100 ml for total coliforms, 0.134*104 CFU/100 ml for fecal coliforms, 0.337*103 CFU/100 ml for Escherichia coli, 16.67 CFU/100 ml for fecal enterococci and 1.47*104 CFU/100 ml for total aerobic flora. Conclusion: According to the tolerance thresholds set by the WHO, the average values obtained significantly exceed the recommended standards for drinking water. Therefore, these waters must be treated alongside environmental sanitation measures at water points to ensure a safe drinking water supply that poses no major health risks to the population. For this fact, an appropriate health survey and the implementation of community water and sanitation projects are recommended.展开更多

BACKGROUND On January 22,2020,Macao reported its first case of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)infection.By August 2021,the situation had escalated into a crisis of community transmission.In response,the government ...BACKGROUND On January 22,2020,Macao reported its first case of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)infection.By August 2021,the situation had escalated into a crisis of community transmission.In response,the government launched a recruitment campaign seeking assistance and services of healthcare workers(HCWs)from the private sector throughout Macao.These participants faced concerns about their own health and that of their families,as well as the responsibility of maintaining public health and wellness.This study aims to determine whether the ongoing epidemic has caused them physical and psychological distress.AIM To examine the influence of COVID-19 on the sleep quality and psychological status of HCWs in private institutions in Macao during the pandemic.METHODS Data were collected from December 2020 to January 2022.Two consecutive surveys were conducted.The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)scale,Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)were employed as investigation tools.RESULTS In the first-stage survey,32%of HCWs experienced a sleep disorder,compared to 28.45%in the second-stage survey.A total of 31.25%of HCWs in the first-stage survey and 28.03%in the second had varying degrees of anxiety.A total of 50.00%of HCWs in the first-stage survey and 50.63%in the second experienced varying degrees of depression.No difference in PSQI scores,SAS scores,or SDS scores were observed between the two surveys,indicating that the COVID-19 epidemic influenced the sleep quality and psychological status of HCWs.The negative influence persisted over both periods but did not increase remarkably for more than a year.However,a positive correlation was observed between the PSQI,SAS,and SDS scores(r=0.428-0.775,P<0.01),indicating that when one of these states deteriorated,the other two tended to deteriorate as well.CONCLUSION The sleep quality,anxiety,and depression of HCWs in private institution in Macao were affected by the COVID-19 epidemic.While these factors did not deteriorate significantly,the negative effects persisted for a year and remained noteworthy.展开更多

文摘The therapeutic efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine has been widely acknowledged due to its extensive history of clinical effectiveness.However,the precise active components underlying each prescription remain incompletely understood.Polysaccharides,as a major constituent of water decoctions—the most common preparation method for Chinese medicinals—may provide a crucial avenue for deepening our understanding of the efficacy principles of Chinese medicine and establishing a framework for its modern development.The structural complexity and diversity of Chinese herbal polysaccharides present significant challenges in their separation and analysis compared to small molecules.This paper aims to explore the potential of Chinese herbal polysaccharides efficiently by briefly summarizing recent advancements in polysaccharide chemical research,focusing on methods of acquisition,structure elucidation,and quality control.

文摘Background:Rosa chinensis Jacq.and Rosa rugosa Thunb.are not only of ornamental value,but also edible flowers and the flower buds have been listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia as traditional medicines.The two plants have some differences in efficacy,but the flower buds are easily confused for similar traits.In addition,large-scale cultivation of ornamental rose flowers may lead to a decrease in the effective components of medicinal roses.Therefore,it is necessary to study the chemical composition and make quality evaluation of Rosae Chinensis Flos(Yueji)and Rosae Rugosae Flos(Meigui).Methods:In this study,40 batches of samples including Meigui and Yueji from different regions in China were collected to establish high-performance liquid chromatography fingerprints.Then,the fingerprints data was analyzed using principal component analysis,hierarchical cluster analysis,and partial least squares discriminant analysis analysis chemometrics to obtain information on intergroup differences,and non-targeted metabolomic techniques were applied to identify and compare chemical compositions of samples which were chosen from groups with large differences.Differential compounds were screened by orthogonal partial least-squares discriminant analysis and S-plot,and finally multi-component quantification was performed to comprehensively evaluate the quality of Yueji and Meigui.Results:The similarity between the fingerprints of 40 batches roses and the reference print R was 0.73 to 0.93,indicating that there were similarities and differences between the samples.Through principal component analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis of fingerprints data,the samples from different origins and varieties were intuitively divided into four groups.Partial least-squares discriminant analysis analysis showed that Meigui and Yueji cluster into two categories and the model was reliable.A total of 89 compounds were identified by high resolution mass spectrometry,mainly were flavonoids and flavonoid glycosides,as well as phenolic acids.Eight differential components were screened out by orthogonal partial least-squares discriminant analysis and S-plot analysis.Quantitative analyses of the eight compounds,including gallic acid,ellagic acid,hyperoside,isoquercitrin,etc.,showed that Yueji was generally richer in phenolic acids and flavonoids than Meigui,and the quality of Yueji from Shandong and Hebei was better.It is worth noting that Xinjiang rose is rich in various components,which is worth focusing on more in-depth research.Conclusion:In this study,the fingerprints of Meigui and Yueji were established.The chemical components information of roses was further improved based on non-targeted metabolomics and mass spectrometry technology.At the same time,eight differential components of Meigui and Yueji were screened out and quantitatively analyzed.The research results provided a scientific basis for the quality control and rational development and utilization of Rosae Chinensis Flos and Rosae Rugosae Flos,and also laid a foundation for the study of their pharmacodynamic material basis.

文摘In this paper,a standardized analysis method is established for identifying meat quality-related genes in Ordos finewool sheep using transcriptome sequencing data.A meticulously standardized approach is utilized to investigate the genetic determinants of meat quality in Ordos fine-wool sheep through transcriptome sequencing analysis.Muscle samples from the longissimus dorsi of one-year-old sheep are collected under controlled conditions,and key texture properties—hardness,elasticity,and chewiness—are measured to categorize samples into high-and low-textural-value groups.Genes significantly associated with meat quality traits are identified through standardized RNA extraction,high-throughput sequencing,and differential gene expression analysis.Functional enrichment analysis reveals their involvement in biological processes such as extracellular matrix organization and metabolic pathways.The findings underscore the pivotal role of standardization in meat quality research,laying a solid scientific foundation for future research on meat quality improvement and molecular breeding.

文摘Edible oils play important roles in people's daily diets, so it is necessary to evaluate their quality. Low-field nuclear magnetic resonance(LF-NMR) is a fast, accurate and nondestructive technology that has developed rapidly in recent years and is widely used in food quality detection. In this paper, the application of LF-NMR combined stoichiometry in the detection of oilseed oil content, the physicochemical properties of different oil systems, the accurate detection of different indices(i.e., acid value, peroxide value, free fatty acid, total polar compounds, and viscosity) of edible oils and the identification of edible oil adulteration are reviewed and discussed. This study provides a reference for further rapid and nondestructive control of oil quality and accurate evaluation of oil-containing systems. In addition, this work will provide an excellent summary for the application of LF-NMR technology in the edible oil field.

文摘The fruit of Huangguan pear is deeply loved by consumers because of its rich nutrition and rich flavor.The quality evaluation system of Huangguan pear is composed of many quality types.In this study,the types and functions of nutritional quality indexes of Huangguan pear were summarized,such as vitamin C,soluble solids,soluble sugar and titratable acid,and the factors affecting the nutritional quality of Huangguan pear including genetic factors,environmental factors and agricultural management measures were overviewed,aiming to provide reference for establishing a comprehensive quality evaluation system of Huangguan pear and then promoting the high-quality development of Huangguan pear industry.

文摘Pyrus pyrifolia,commonly known as sand pear,is a key economic fruit tree in temperate regions that possesses highly diverse germplasm resources for pear quality improvement.However,research on the relationship between resistance and fruit quality traits in the breeding of fruit species like pear is limited.Pan-transcriptomes effectively capture genetic information from coding regions and reflect variations in gene expression between individuals.Here,we constructed a pan-transcriptome based on 506 samples from different tissues of sand pear,and explored the intrinsic relationships among phenotypes and the selection for disease resistance during improvement based on expression presence/absence variations(eP AVs).The pan-transcriptome in this study contains 156,744 transcripts,among which the novel transcripts showed significant enrichment in the defense response.Interestingly,disease resistance genes are highly expressed in landraces of pear but have been selected against during the improvement of this perennial tree species.We found that the genetically diverse landraces can be divided into two subgroups and inferred that they have undergone different dispersal processes.Through co-expression network analysis,we confirmed that the formation of stone cells in pears,the synthesis of fruit anthocyanins,and the ability to resist stress are interrelated.They are jointly regulated by several modules,and the expression of regulatory genes has significant correlations with these three processes.Moreover,we identified candidate genes such as HKL1 that may affect sugar content and are missing from the reference genome.This study provides insights into the associations between complex fruit traits,while providing a database resource for pear disease resistance and fruit quality breeding.

文摘The cold plasma(CP)technique was applied to alleviate the contamination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon(PAH)in this investigation.Two different CP treatments methods were implemented in the production of beef patties,to investigate their inhibition and degradation capacity on PAHs.With 5 different cooking oils and fats addition,the inhibition mechanism of in-package cold plasma(ICP)pretreatment was explored from the aspect of raw patties fatty acids composition variation.The results of principal component analysis showed that the first two principal components accounted for more than 80%of the total variation in the original data,indicating that the content of saturated fatty acids was significantly positively correlated with the formation of PAHs.ICP pretreatment inhibited the formation of PAHs by changing the composition of fatty acids,which showed that the total amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids decreased and the total amount of monounsaturated fatty acids increased.Sensory discrimination tests demonstrated there were discernable differences between 2 CP treated samples and the controls,utilization of the ICP pretreatment in meat products processing was expected to achieve satisfying eating quality.In conclusion,CP treatment degraded PAHs through stepwise ring-opening oxidation in 2 reported pathways,the toxicity of PAHs contaminated products was alleviated after CP treatment.

文摘The effects of cast iron pipe corrosion onwater quality risk and microbial ecology in drinking water distribution systems(DWDSs)were investigated.It was found that trihalomethane(THMs)concentration and antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)increased sharply in the old DWDSs.Under the same residual chlorine concentration conditions,the adenosine triphos-phate concentration in the effluent of old DWDSs(Eff-old)was significantly higher than that in the effluent of newDWDSs.Moreover,stronger bioflocculation ability andweaker hy-drophobicity coexisted in the extracellular polymeric substances of Eff-old,meanwhile,iron particles could be well inserted into the structure of the biofilms to enhance the mechanical strength and stability of the biofilms,hence enhancing the formation of THMs.Old DWDSs significantly influenced the microbial community of bulk water and triggered stronger mi-crobial antioxidant systems response,resulting in higher ARGs abundance.Corroded cast iron pipes induced a unique interaction system of biofilms,chlorine,and corrosion prod-ucts.Therefore,as the age of cast iron pipes increases,the fluctuation of water quality and microbial ecology should be paid more attention to maintain the safety of tap water.

文摘This study investigated the effects of superheated steam(SS)treatment at different temperatures(120℃,150℃,180℃)on the physicochemical properties of broken rice flour and the quality of broken rice cakes.SS treatment at 120℃ significantly enhanced the moisture content of broken rice flour(P<0.05).In contrast,treatments at 150℃ and 180℃ caused decrease of moisture content,amylose leaching,and reduction of damaged starch content.After SS treatment,the pasting properties of broken rice flour increased,along with the rising of storage modulus and loss modulus.The proportion of short chains(DP 6-12)in amylopectin increased from 29.42%to 34.80%(P<0.05),which could delay starch retrogradation.Compared with untreated ones,the SS-150 broken rice cakes showed a significantly higher specific volume(2.96 mL/g,P<0.05),more uniform cell structure,and lower hardness(1.66 N)and chewiness(10.22 mJ).After 7 days of storage,cakes from SS-treated rice flour(150℃ and 180℃)had significantly reduced hardness and chewiness.The study demonstrated that SS treatment could improve the properties of broken rice flour and enhance the quality of broken rice cakes,especially at 150℃ and 180℃.This study presents a method for improving the quality of broken rice flour and rice cakes using superheated steam treatment,addressing challenges related to poor flour characteristics and suboptimal cake quality.The findings offer technical and theoretical support for enhancing rice cake production,contributing to the comprehensive utilization of rice resources.

文摘The quality of Chinese materia medica(CMM)is a challenging and focused topic in the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).A profound comprehension of the morphology,structure,active constituents,and dynamic changes during the whole process of CMM growth is essential,which needs highly precise contemporary techniques for in-depth elucidation.Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)is a cutting-edge tool integrating the benefits of both nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)spectroscopy and imaging technology.With real-time,non-destructive,and in situ detection capabilities,MRI has been previously used for monitoring internal and external structures of plants alongside compounds during physiological processes in vivo.Here,factors involved in the holistic quality evaluation of CMMs were investigated.Given the applications of MRI in various plants,several representative CMMs were used as examples to demonstrate a methodology of quality visualization by MRI,embodying holistically monitoring the real-time macroscopic morphology,mesoscopic structure,and microscopic metabolites nondestructively in situ.Taken together,the review not only presents a pioneering application mode for utilizing MRI for CMM quality visualization but also holds promise for advancing the quality control and evaluation of CMMs.
文摘The feeding of children during weaning must be of good quality, this is essential, and it must not be a source of contamination to ensure the well-being of children. The objective of this work was to determine the bacteriological quality of the porridges and purees of weaning consumed by children from 6 to 24 months at the INSE of Guinea. For this, a descriptive study of analytical type was carried out over a period of 4 months at the INSE of Guinea. This study found that total mesophilic flora, faecal streptococci, staphylococci, and salmonella were consistent with sanitary standards in Plantin-enriched peanut paste and groundnut paste samples. They had respective bacteriological qualities of 90% and 60%. Fecal coliform contamination and ASR were observed respectively in the samples of rice husk remnants enriched with peanut paste and planting banana purée with respective values 50% and 40%. From the point of view of tampering, the samples of rice ground meal enriched with groundnut paste and Plantin banana purees were severely affected by the total coliforms at 40% and 60% respectively. In the end, poor hygiene practice during preparation increases the risk of food contamination;however, hygienic measures must be taken to improve the hygienic quality of food to maintain good health of children.
文摘Artificial fishponds play a pivotal role in global aquaculture, serving as a source of livelihood and nourishment for many communities. Ensuring the sustained health and productivity of Fishes in these environments relies heavily on water quality management. This assessment was done to determine the water quality of ten artificial fishponds in the south-eastern part of Sierra Leone using twelve physicochemical factors (pH, BOD, EC, TDS, turbidity, COD, Fe<sup>2+</sup>, Mg<sup>2+</sup>, Ca<sup>2+</sup>, NH<sub>3</sub>, , and alkalinity) to find out the Water Quality Index (WQI) and spatial distribution of respective parameters. The assessment of artificial fishponds using WQI and Inverse Distant Weighting (IDW) integration represents a relatively underexplored area within the domain of environmental water resources. The WQI was determined using the “Weighted Arithmetic Water Quality Index’’ method. The results of WQI in the study area range from 65.05 to 147.26. Several locations have water quality deemed unsuitable for consumption, while others range from good to very poor. It is essential to address and improve water quality in locations categorized as unsuitable for consumption and very poor to ensure safe and healthy water sources. It was also clear from the calculation that the smaller the mean concentration value of the pH as compared to the ideal value (7), the smaller the WQI value and the better the water quality. To keep the artificial fishpond water in good condition, mass domestic use should be controlled, and draining of surrounding organic matter should be stopped in ponds Bo_001, Kenema_001, and Kenema_002.
文摘In this study,the questionnaire“Influencing Factors of Classroom Quality in Higher Vocational Education”was self-compiled.By using the questionnaire survey method,the research conclusion was drawn that the main factors affecting the classroom teaching quality in higher vocational education were teaching and student factors,teacher factors,and classroom factors based on 2,683 samples.According to the research results,the measures to improve the quality of classroom teaching are put forward,in order to provide guidance for improving the quality of teaching in higher vocational colleges.
文摘The inadequacy of drinking water distribution by the Chadian Water Company (STE) has led to the proliferation of private wells and boreholes in the city of Abéché. This study aims to evaluate the microbiological quality of the drinking water from these wells and boreholes in the city. Methodology: To carry out this study, a randomized selection of forty-five (45) water points, including nine (9) wells and thirty-six (36) boreholes, was identified, and samples were collected. These samples were sent to the National Water Laboratory (LNE) to test for several microbiological parameters, namely Escherichia coli, total coliforms, fecal coliforms, fecal enterococci, and total aerobic flora. The technique used for this analysis was spread plating and membrane filtration. Results: The average values obtained in the well water are 0.338*104 CFU/100 ml for total coliforms, 0.156*104 CFU/100 ml for fecal coliforms, 0.319*103 CFU/100 ml for Escherichia coli, 33.33 CFU/100 ml for fecal enterococci and 1.385*104 CFU/100 ml for total aerobic flora. For borehole water, the average values obtained are 0.469*104 CFU/100 ml for total coliforms, 0.134*104 CFU/100 ml for fecal coliforms, 0.337*103 CFU/100 ml for Escherichia coli, 16.67 CFU/100 ml for fecal enterococci and 1.47*104 CFU/100 ml for total aerobic flora. Conclusion: According to the tolerance thresholds set by the WHO, the average values obtained significantly exceed the recommended standards for drinking water. Therefore, these waters must be treated alongside environmental sanitation measures at water points to ensure a safe drinking water supply that poses no major health risks to the population. For this fact, an appropriate health survey and the implementation of community water and sanitation projects are recommended.

文摘Renal cancer is one of the most common malignancies of the urinary system,and the number of deaths continues to increase.The standardized management of the diagnosis and treatment of renal cancer is challenging due to the great differences in the diagnosis and treatment of renal cancer in different regions.The Renal Cancer Expert Committee of the National Cancer Quality Control Center(NCQCC)identified a lack of authoritative quality control standards as an opportunity to utilize its multidisciplinary membership to improve the standardized diagnosis and treatment of renal cancer.The Renal Cancer Expert Committee of the NCQCC aims to promote quality control and national standardization,uniformity,and normalization of renal cancer diagnosis and treatment,which ultimately improved the survival rate and quality of life of renal cancer patients.A panel of experts with renal cancer surgery,renal cancer medicine,medical imaging,pathology and radiotherapy were drawn together and determined the quality control standards for the standardized diagnosis and treatment of renal cancer.The Indices includes 20 items that cover all key areas in the diagnosis and treatment of renal cancer,such as standard diagnosis,surgery treatment,systemic treatment,and prognostic evaluation.

文摘BACKGROUND On January 22,2020,Macao reported its first case of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)infection.By August 2021,the situation had escalated into a crisis of community transmission.In response,the government launched a recruitment campaign seeking assistance and services of healthcare workers(HCWs)from the private sector throughout Macao.These participants faced concerns about their own health and that of their families,as well as the responsibility of maintaining public health and wellness.This study aims to determine whether the ongoing epidemic has caused them physical and psychological distress.AIM To examine the influence of COVID-19 on the sleep quality and psychological status of HCWs in private institutions in Macao during the pandemic.METHODS Data were collected from December 2020 to January 2022.Two consecutive surveys were conducted.The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)scale,Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)were employed as investigation tools.RESULTS In the first-stage survey,32%of HCWs experienced a sleep disorder,compared to 28.45%in the second-stage survey.A total of 31.25%of HCWs in the first-stage survey and 28.03%in the second had varying degrees of anxiety.A total of 50.00%of HCWs in the first-stage survey and 50.63%in the second experienced varying degrees of depression.No difference in PSQI scores,SAS scores,or SDS scores were observed between the two surveys,indicating that the COVID-19 epidemic influenced the sleep quality and psychological status of HCWs.The negative influence persisted over both periods but did not increase remarkably for more than a year.However,a positive correlation was observed between the PSQI,SAS,and SDS scores(r=0.428-0.775,P<0.01),indicating that when one of these states deteriorated,the other two tended to deteriorate as well.CONCLUSION The sleep quality,anxiety,and depression of HCWs in private institution in Macao were affected by the COVID-19 epidemic.While these factors did not deteriorate significantly,the negative effects persisted for a year and remained noteworthy.
