Based on recorded wi...A 3D finite element （FE） model for the Sutong cable-stayed bridge （SCB） is established based on ANSYS. The dynamic characteristics of the bridge are analyzed using a subspace iteration method. Based on recorded wind data, the measured spectra expression is presented using the nonlinear least-squares regression method. Turbulent winds at the bridge site are simulated based on the spectral representation method and the FFT technique. The influence of some key structural parameters and measures on the dynamic characteristics of the bridge are investigated. These parameters include dead load intensity, as well as vertical, lateral and torsional stiffness of the steel box girder. In addition, the influence of elastic stiffness of the connection device employed between the towers and the girder on the vibration mode of the steel box girder is investigated. The analysis shows that all of the vertical, lateral and torsional buffeting displacement responses reduce gradually as the dead load intensity increases. The dynamic characteristics and the structural buffeting displacement response of the SCB are only slightly affected by the vertical and torsional stiffness of the steel box girder, and the lateral and torsional buffeting displacement responses reduce gradually as the lateral stiffness increases. These results provide a reference for dynamic analysis and design of super-long-span cable-stayed bridges.展开更多

Objective:To discuss the effect of Yaobitong capsule on histomorphology of dorsal root ganglion and on expression of p38 MARK phosphorylation in autologous nucleus pulposus transplantation model of rats.Methods:A tota...Objective:To discuss the effect of Yaobitong capsule on histomorphology of dorsal root ganglion and on expression of p38 MARK phosphorylation in autologous nucleus pulposus transplantation model of rats.Methods:A total of 60 SD rats were randomly divided into the blank group,model group and Yaobitong capsule group,with 20 rats in each group.The animal model of autologous nucleus pulposus transplantation around the lumbar nerve root was built.Three days after the modeling,rats were given the drugs for the first time,while rats in the model group were given the equivalent normal saline.After 30 d of continuous administration,samples were collected from rats.HE staining was performed on the dorsal root ganglion of L4 and L5 spinal cord of rats in each group and the expression of p38 MARK phosphorylation was measured.All data were treated with the statistical analysis.Results:The histological examination showed that the histomorphology of dorsal root ganglion in the Yaobitong capsule group was more significantly improved than the one in the model group,while the results of western blot showed that Yaobitong capsule could significandy inhibit the level of p38 MAPK phosphorylation of dorsal root ganglion cells.Conclusions:Yaobitong capsule can improve the symptoms and nerve radiculopathy of autologous nucleus pulposus transplantation of rats and its mechanism may be associated with its inhibiting effect on the level of p38 MAPK phosphorylation.展开更多
The last decade or so has seen the development of refined performance-based earthquake engineering(PBEE) approaches that now provide a framework for estimation of a range of important decision variables,such as repair...The last decade or so has seen the development of refined performance-based earthquake engineering(PBEE) approaches that now provide a framework for estimation of a range of important decision variables,such as repair costs,repair time and number of casualties. This paper reviews current tools for PBEE,including the PACT software,and examines the possibility of extending the innovative displacement-based assessment approach as a simplified structural analysis option for performance assessment. Details of the displacement-based s+eismic assessment method are reviewed and a simple means of quickly assessing multiple hazard levels is proposed. Furthermore,proposals for a simple definition of collapse fragility and relations between equivalent single-degree-of-freedom characteristics and multi-degree-of-freedom story drift and floor acceleration demands are discussed,highlighting needs for future research. To illustrate the potential of the methodology,performance measures obtained from the simplified method are compared with those computed using the results of incremental dynamic analyses within the PEER performance-based earthquake engineering framework,applied to a benchmark building. The comparison illustrates that the simplified method could be a very effective conceptual seismic design tool. The advantages and disadvantages of the simplified approach are discussed and potential implications of advanced seismic performance assessments for conceptual seismic design are highlighted through examination of different case study scenarios including different structural configurations.展开更多

Result indicates that during the sample period, China＇s service exports measured by forward-linkage decomposition method accounted for around 35% in its total export. While the value of services exported directly through the service sector accounted for a falling share, the value of services exported through other sectors represented an increasing share. China ranks second in the world in terms of market share of service exports. Dam construction industry has concerned specific attention to engineering economy,over the past years;so in this direction the topic of emergency fusegates has considered as a new technology since 1989,in all over the...Dam construction industry has concerned specific attention to engineering economy,over the past years;so in this direction the topic of emergency fusegates has considered as a new technology since 1989,in all over the world.Fusegate is a simple,safe,and robust structure in increasing live storage or spillway capacity and a mechanical equivalent of a fuse plug.Although the installation of gates with different types and heights might practically be difficult,but its lower annual cost,flexibility in operation and smaller wasted water resulting from gates tipping justifies their selection as a more desirable solution.In this paper,the fusegates of Sarough storage dam(Googerdchi)in West-Azerbaijan province is studied an analyzed.The fusegates are installed for the first time in Iran,on Sarough dam spillway instead of radial gates.By installing these gates,the storage capacity of the reservoir increased up to gates overhead level for about 10 mcm.Flood hydrograph in six different return periods(from 2 to 1000 years)of the dam,shows that dam capacity has increased by equipping with fusegates.In addition,a comparison discharge-time-reservoir level chart between 1st to 6th individual fusegate overthrow periods is done.展开更多
Men＇s health concerns have evolved from the traditional andrology and male sexual health to a more holistic approach that encompasses male psychological, social and physical health. The poor state of health in men co...Men＇s health concerns have evolved from the traditional andrology and male sexual health to a more holistic approach that encompasses male psychological, social and physical health. The poor state of health in men compared to their female counterparts is well documented. A review of the epidemiological data from Malaysia noted a similar trend in which men die at higher rates in under 1 and above 15 years old groups and most disease categories compared to women. In Malaysia, the main causes of death in men are non-communicable diseases and injuries. Risk factors, such as risk-taking behaviour, smoking and hypertension, are prevalent and amenable to early interventions. Erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation and prostate disorders are also prevalent. However, many of these morbidities go unreported and are not diagnosed early; therefore, opportunities for early intervention are missed. This reflects poor health knowledge and inadequate health-care utilisation among Malaysian men. Their health-seeking behaviour has been shown to be strongly influenced by family members and friends. However, more research is needed to identify men＇s unmet health-care needs and to develop optimal strategies for addressing them. Because the Malaysian population is aging and there is an increase in sedentary lifestyles, optimizing men＇s health will remain a challenge unless effective measures are implemented. The existing male-unfriendly health-care system and the negative influence of masculinity on men＇s health behaviour must be addressed. A national men＇s health policy based on a male-friendly approach to health-care delivery is urgently needed to provide a framework for addressing these challenges.展开更多

This paper examines the impacts of demographic dividend on economic growth by using Error Correction Model and time series data from 1978 to 2008. The model incorporates variables representing structural change and institutional transition. Results show that fixed asset investment has the greatest influence on China＇s economic growth, followed by technological progress, institutional transition, and structural change. The impact of the demographic dividend is significant, but it has fewer shares to explain economic growth. Thus, in the future, with gradual disappearance of the demographic dividend, China needs to rely more on investment growth, technological progress, structure change and institutional transition.展开更多

文摘Under the impact of the sovereign debt crisis, the European Union pays less attention to its foreign policy and the Common Foreign Policy tends to be "renationalized"; the EU is again embracing "geo-economics" with an enhanced tendency of highlighting economic ties and trade in its external relations; EU countries have greatly cut their defence expenditures, making it more difficult to implement the EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) in future. The author holds that the prospects of economic growth in the Eurozone countries, European integration under the pressure of structural changes in international relations, and competition and collaboration in a multiple structure of foreign policy establishments are combined to shape the EU’s foreign policy in the coming years.
