文摘Installing internal bulkheads in a composite bucket foundation alters the rotational symmetry characteristic of a single-compartment bucket foundation, consequently influencing the stress distribution within the bucket and surrounding soil.During the seabed penetration of a spudcan from a jack-up wind turbine installation vessel,an angle may form between the spudcan’s axis and the axis of symmetry of the adjacent composite bucket foundation in the horizontal plane.Such a misalignment may affect load distribution and the non-uniform interaction between the foundation, soil, and spudcan, ultimately influencing the foundation’s stability. This study employs physical model tests to ascertain the trends in end resistance during spudcan penetration in sand, the extent of soil disturbance, and the backflow condition. The finite element coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian method is validated and utilized to determine the range of penetration angles that induce alterations in the maximum vertical displacement and tilt rate of the composite bucket foundation in sand. The differential contact stress distribution at the base of the bucket is analyzed, with qualitative criteria for sand backflow provided.Findings demonstrate that the maximum vertical displacement and tilt rate of the composite bucket foundation display a“wave-like”variation with the increasing spudcan penetration angle, peaking when the angle between the spudcan and bulkhead is the smallest.Stress distribution is predominantly concentrated at the base and apex of the bucket, becoming increasingly uneven as the penetration angle deviates from the foundation’s symmetry axis. The maximum stress gradually shifts to the junction of the bulkhead and bucket bottom on the side with the shortest net distance from the spudcan.Considering the in-place stability and stress state of the composite bucket foundation is therefore imperative, and particular attention should be paid to the foundation’s state when the angle between the spudcan and bulkhead is small.

文摘This study demonstrates a novel integration of large language models, machine learning, and multicriteria decision-making to investigate self-moderation in small online communities,a topic under-explored compared to user behavior and platform-driven moderation on social media. The proposed methodological framework(1)utilizes large language models for social media post analysis and categorization,(2)employs k-means clustering for content characterization,and(3)incorporates the TODIM(Tomada de Decisão Interativa Multicritério)method to determine moderation strategies based on expert judgments. In general, the fully integrated framework leverages the strengths of these intelligent systems in a more systematic evaluation of large-scale decision problems. When applied in social media moderation, this approach promotes nuanced and context-sensitive self-moderation by taking into account factors such as cultural background and geographic location. The application of this framework is demonstrated within Facebook groups.Eight distinct content clusters encompassing safety, harassment, diversity, and misinformation are identified.Analysis revealed a preference for content removal across all clusters, suggesting a cautious approach towards potentially harmful content. However, the framework also highlights the use of other moderation actions, like account suspension, depending on the content category. These findings contribute to the growing body of research on self-moderation and offer valuable insights for creating safer and more inclusive online spaces within smaller communities.

文摘During the hoisting process of the offshore substation, changes in the hoisting speed can affect the hoisting system. Therefore, this study set four different speed conditions for the lifting and lowering stages of the installation process, and studied the impact of different lifting and lowering speeds on the hoisting system under the same environmental conditions through numerical simulation. The results show that during the lifting operation,as the lifting speed increases, the swing motion of the substation and the installation vessel tends to decrease, and the faster the hoisting speed, the more obvious the swing suppression of the substation and the installation vessel, and the smaller the fluctuation in the tension amplitude of the slings and mooring lines. In contrast, during the lowering operation,as the lowering speed increases, the swing motion of the substation and the installation vessel tends to increase, and the faster the lowering speed, the more obvious the swing amplification effect of the substation and the installation vessel. Therefore, during hoisting operations, increasing the lifting speed and reducing the lowering speed can mitigate the motion performance of the hoisting coupling system, reduce the tension amplitude variation of the sling and mooring, and ensure the smooth progress of the hoisting operation.
文摘Thermal power plants are the main contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. The prediction of the emission supports the decision makers and environmental sustainability. The objective of this study is to enhance the accuracy of emission prediction models, supporting more effective real-time monitoring and enabling informed operational decisions that align with environmental compliance efforts. This paper presents a data-driven approach for the accurate prediction of gas emissions, specifically nitrogen oxides(NOx)and carbon monoxide(CO),in natural gas power plants using an optimized hybrid machine learning framework. The proposed model integrates a Feedforward Neural Network(FFNN)trained using Particle Swarm Optimization to capture the nonlinear emission dynamics under varying gas turbine operating conditions. To further enhance predictive performance, the K-Nearest Neighbor(K-NN)algorithm serves as a post-processing method to enhance IPSO-FFNN predictions through adjustment and refinement, improving overall prediction accuracy, while Neighbor Component Analysis is used to identify and rank the most influential operational variables. The study makes a significant contribution through the combination of NCA feature selection with PSO global optimization,FFNN nonlinear modelling, and K-NN error correction into one unified system, which delivers precise emission predictions. The model was developed and tested using a real-world dataset collected from gas-fired turbine operations, with validated results demonstrating robust accuracy, achieving Root Mean Square Error values of 0.355 for CO and 0.368 for NOx.When benchmarked against conventional models such as standard FFNN,Support Vector Regression, and Long Short-Term Memory networks, the hybrid model achieved substantial improvements,up to 97.8%in Mean Squared Error,95%in Mean Absolute Error(MAE),and 85.19%in RMSE for CO;and 97.16%in MSE,93.4%in MAE,and 83.15%in RMSE for NOx.These results underscore the model’s potential for improving emission prediction, thereby supporting enhanced operational efficiency and adherence to environmental standards.
文摘Discussions about the future of energy sources and environmental sustainability are becoming critical on a global scale. The energy sector plays a central role in the economy,as the availability and cost of energy influence the competitiveness of economies, while the level of energy consumption impacts the standard of living for individuals. This paper aims to examine environmental challenges and steps for a sustainable transition towards a hydrogen economy, focusing on its potential as an alternative to fossil fuels and the importance of developing the hydrogen paradigm. The research methodology is based on a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, including an analysis of global and regional trends in the energy transition, the impact of various forms of hydrogen production(green, blue, gray hydrogen)on greenhouse gas emissions, and a comparison of existing policies and strategies in different countries transitioning to a sustainable hydrogen economy.Research results show that green hydrogen, produced via electrolysis using renewable energy sources, holds the greatest potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, while gray and blue hydrogen can serve as transitional options. The development of the hydrogen paradigm, rooted in innovative technologies, renewable energy sources, and international cooperation,is crucial for decarbonization and the creation of a sustainable global economy, despite challenges such as high costs and the need for global coordination. The hydrogen paradigm is becoming a cornerstone of these efforts, laying the foundation for a long-term,sustainable global economy.Currently, over 180 hydrogen transport projects,60 distribution projects,80 storage projects,30 terminal and port projects, and more than 220 hydrogen production projects are under development worldwide. The global momentum of the hydrogen transition helps mitigate climate change and build a sustainable future.
文摘Cooperative multi-UAV search requires jointly optimizing wide-area coverage, rapid target discovery, and endurance under sensing and motion constraints.Resolving this coupling enables scalable coordination with high data efficiency and mission reliability. We formulate this problem as a discounted Markov decision process on an occupancy grid with a cellwise Bayesian belief update, yielding a Markov state that couples agent poses with a probabilistic target field. On this belief–MDP we introduce a segment-conditioned latent-intent framework,in which a discrete intent head selects a latent skill every K steps and an intra-segment GRU policy generates per-step control conditioned on the fixed intent;both components are trained end-to-end with proximal updates under a centralized critic. On the 50×50 grid, coverage and discovery convergence times are reduced by up to 48%and 40%relative to a flat actor-critic benchmark, and the aggregated convergence metric improves by about 12%compared with a stateof-the-art hierarchical method.Qualitative analyses further reveal stable spatial sectorization, low path overlap, and fuel-aware patrolling, indicating that segment-conditioned latent intents provide an effective and scalable mechanism for coordinated multi-UAV search.

文摘Mine filling materials urgently need to improve mechanical properties and achieve low-carbon transformation. This study explores the mechanism of the synergistic effect of optimizing aggregate fractal grading and introducing CO_(2)nanobubble technology to improve the performance of cement-fly ash-based backfill materials(CFB).The properties including fluidity, setting time, uniaxial compressive strength, elastic modulus, porosity, microstructure and CO_(2)storage performance were systematically studied through methods such as fluidity evaluation, time test, uniaxial compression test, mercury intrusion porosimetry(MIP),scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive spectroscopy analysis(SEM-EDS),and thermogravimetric-differential thermogravimetric analysis(TG-DTG).The experimental results show that the density and strength of the material are significantly improved under the synergistic effect of fractal dimension and CO_(2)nanobubbles.When the fractal dimension reaches 2.65,the mass ratio of coarse and fine aggregates reaches the optimal balance, and the structural density is greatly improved at the same time.At this time, the uniaxial compressive strength and elastic modulus reach their peak values, with increases of up to 13.46%and 27.47%,respectively.CO_(2)nanobubbles enhance the material properties by promoting hydration reaction and carbonization. At the microscopic level,CO_(2)nanobubble water promotes the formation of C-S-H(hydrated calcium silicate),C-A-S-H(hydrated calcium aluminium silicate)gel and CaCO_(3),which is the main way to enhance the performance.Thermogravimetric studies have shown that when the fractal dimension is 2.65,the dehydration of hydration products and the decarbonization process of CaCO_(3)are most obvious, and CO_(2)nanobubble water promotes the carbonization reaction, making it surpass the natural state. The CO_(2)sequestration quality of cement-fly ash-based materials treated with CO_(2)nanobubble water at different fractal dimensions increased by 12.4wt%to 99.8wt%.The results not only provide scientific insights for the design and implementation of low-carbon filling materials, but also provide a solid theoretical basis for strengthening green mining practices and promoting sustainable resource utilization.

文摘Nuclear reactor coolant pumps require frequent maintenance to ensure operational safety. One critical aspect of this maintenance is verifying the integrity of the mechanical sealing system.Due to the lack of an evaluation criteria and an incomplete understanding of how end-face defects lead to failure, defective mechanical seals are often replaced empirically, which not only contributes to economic losses but also poses risks to reactor safety. To reveal the mechanism by which surface defects affect sealing performance, this study proposes a classification method for end-face defects based on the analysis of approximately one hundred used mechanical seals.A defect characterization model was established by extracting key features of the observed defects. The influence of these defects on sealing performance was analyzed using a liquid-thermal-solid coupling model.Changes in sealing gap, leakage rates, and film stiffness with respect to defect size, location, and other characteristics are discussed. This work contributes to a deeper understanding of defect failure mechanisms. These results can serve as a reference for evaluating defective seals.

文摘Although wind energy is volatile, the output of a wind-storage plant is partially dispatchable, making it a promising paradigm on the generation side.A grid-friendly wind-storage plant ought to be able to continuously output the desired power over a certain period of time. This paper proposes a dependable dynamic capacity provision scheme of a wind-storage plant over a daily horizon. It stipulates a minimum number of periods during which the committed capacity must be fulfilled and a maximum mismatch during the remaining periods when the desired power output is not achievable. In the general case, the day-ahead piecewise constant capacity provision results in a two-stage stochastic program formulated as a mixed-integer linear program.Specifically, for constant capacity provision,a decomposition algorithm is developed to determine the global optimal solution, and the complexity grows linearly with the number of scenarios.Given the committed capacity trajectory, the real-time operation problem is modeled as a four-state stochastic dynamic program. The discrete state-action values are derived recursively via the principle of optimality.Real-time dispatch actions are generated by using the action-value tabular leveraging inexact ultra-short-term forecasts.Numerical tests over one year demonstrate that the proposed method successfully fulfills reliable operation on 355 days and achieve an optimality gap of 9.47%compared with the ex-post optimum, which is comparable to model predictive control using exact 2–3-hour-ahead wind power forecasts.

文摘In the conceptual design phase of the satellite thermal management system, components layout optimization and structural topology optimization of satellite panel can meet global and local thermal management requirements, respectively. However, achieving non-interfering coupling between these two optimization processes remains a challenge. An integrated layout-structure design method based on thermal metamaterials is proposed, which comprises two design stages. In the first stage, components layout optimization is conducted to maximize temperature uniformity within the satellite module, yielding a globally optimized layout with balanced thermal characteristics. In the second stage, topology optimization guided by the design principle of thermal metamaterials is implemented in critical local panel regions to satisfy differentiated heat transfer requirements of components with diverse functional and thermal sensitivity properties. The key innovation lies in utilizing thermal metamaterials as a mediator to synergistically couple global components layout optimization with local structural topology optimization, which enables customized local heat flux manipulation without interfering with the globally optimized temperature field derived from the layout optimization. The method introduces neither additional mass nor special materials, offering advantages of low cost, high reliability, and strong versatility. It provides a new solution paradigm for the design of passive thermal management systems in satellites.

文摘In-situ enlargement of super-large-span tunnels can intensify excavation-induced unloading in the surrounding rock, increasing deformation demand and failure risk during construction. This study combines laboratory model tests with FLAC3D simulations to evaluate the stabilizing role of prestressed anchor cables and to establish an energy-balance framework for support optimization.Comparative model tests of existing and enlarged tunnel sections, with and without anchors, show that reinforcement increases load-carrying capacity, reduces displacement, and confines damage to more localized zones. The numerical simulations reproduce displacement fields,shear-strain localization, and plastic-zone evolution with good agreement against the experimental observations. The energy framework is implemented in the in-situ simulations by quantifying unloading-related energy release in the rock mass and reinforcement work contributed by the anchors, and by introducing an energy release–reinforcement ratio as a stability indicator.Parametric analyses indicate that anchor length, spacing, and prestress influence stability in a nonlinear manner, with diminishing returns once reinforcement extends beyond the mechanically dominant deformation zone.An efficient parameter window is identified that improves deformation and yielding control while avoiding unnecessary reinforcement. The results provide an energy-consistent and design-oriented basis for prestressed anchorage selection in large-span tunnel expansion.
