To ensure the success of the e-learning initiatives,OUM has developed its own e-learning management system,known as myLMS.Since its introduction,many modifications and improvements have been introduced to increase its...To ensure the success of the e-learning initiatives,OUM has developed its own e-learning management system,known as myLMS.Since its introduction,many modifications and improvements have been introduced to increase its effectiveness.It is now timely that OUM take stock of its students'attitudes towards e-learning.Thus,a survey was conducted on about 1,000 students at one of OUM's own learning centres,that is,the Kelantan Regional Centrel.The study indicated that generally the teacher cohort had a somewhat neutral attitude towards e-learning.The use of e-learning was more specifically aimed at achieving short term goals of obtaining good coursework and examination grades by capitalizing on the use of the Discussion Board and Courseware.A closer examination reveals that the females prefer the Discussion Board while the males prefer the Courseware.Learners in the Engineering and English programmes had more positive attitudes towards e-learning compared to learners in the Mathematics and Science programme. Learners with CGPA＞3.0 who are categorized as high achievers are more positive towards e-learning as compared to the low achievers(CGPA＜3.0).Age difference,learners‘income per month,learners’Internet and e-learning habits were also found to be predictors of attitude towards e-learning.展开更多

Since writing in English is a challenging experience for Omani students, errors in grammar and sentence structures were identified in bridging language courses （foundation level 2） in the field of ESL （English as a Second Language}. Learners＇ errors were considered positively as the best sources to identify students＇ limitations in English writing. The present study investigates the structure errors of Omani students＇ writings in English in foundation level 2 at Arab Open University. The focal aim is to study the errors that Ornani students commit when they are using adjectives ＋ nouns, indefinite articles, and subordinate conjunction ＂because＂. Results show that Omani students committed the following common errors： misplacement of adjectives, omission of the indefinite articles, and wrong structure of the subordinate conjunction （because）. The prime aim of this study is to examine the students＇ aforementioned structural errors which are the result of the interference of their mother-tongue. In order to achieve these aims, students were asked to write two different topics. Finally, this research suggests further recommendations for further studies which might ameliorate students＇ learning by adopting appropriate strategies for teaching.展开更多

However, there are few studies of robotic distal pancreatectomy(RDP) for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDA...Background: Minimally invasive surgery is becoming increasingly popular in the field of pancreatic surgery. However, there are few studies of robotic distal pancreatectomy(RDP) for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC). This study aimed to investigate the efficacy and feasibility of RDP for PDAC. Methods: Patients who underwent RDP or laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy(LDP) for PDAC between January 2015 and September 2020 were reviewed. Propensity score matching analyses were performed. Results: Of the 335 patients included in the study, 24 underwent RDP and 311 underwent LDP. A total of 21 RDP patients were matched 1:1 with LDP patients. RDP was associated with longer operative time(209.7 vs. 163.2 min;P = 0.003), lower open conversion rate(0% vs. 4.8%;P < 0.001), higher cost(15 722 vs. 12 699 dollars;P = 0.003), and a higher rate of achievement of an R0 resection margin(90.5% vs. 61.9%;P = 0.042). However, postoperative pancreatic fistula grade B or C showed no significant intergroup difference(9.5% vs. 9.5%). The median disease-free survival(34.5 vs. 17.3 months;P = 0.588) and overall survival(37.7 vs. 21.9 months;P = 0.171) were comparable between the groups. Conclusions: RDP is associated with longer operative time, a higher cost of surgery, and a higher likelihood of achieving R0 margins than LDP.展开更多

Microplastics(MPs)are man-made litter receiving current conversation of interest as a silent pollutant to Earth.Its impact is high on the coastal waters,sediment and organisms of the marine environment.It is a pertine...Microplastics(MPs)are man-made litter receiving current conversation of interest as a silent pollutant to Earth.Its impact is high on the coastal waters,sediment and organisms of the marine environment.It is a pertinent requirement to investigate the microplastic MP contamination in the marine environment of the Asian region aiming at the world’s 3rd largest ocean,the Indian Ocean.Among the different samples,Indian Ocean water and deep-sea sediment samples have mostly been investigated covering the Southwestern Sumatran region(Eastern Indian Ocean)which is a well-known domestic and industrial shipping route.Majority of the tested samples were in the form of granules,fibers and fragments of 100-500μm and 38-6,330μm in size range respectively in deep-sea sediment samples and in ocean water samples.Further,the prominent MPs types were PVC(polyvinyl chloride),PP(polypropylene)synthetic micro debris,Poly methyl methacrylate PMMA plastic micro debris,PTFE(polytetrafluoroethylene),and nylon.Floating plastic debris has also been found on surface ocean waters in the Eastern Indian Oceanic region as an emergent floating litter.Its size range and the percentage abundance were documented as 0.5-5 mm and 50%respectively.Moreover,the Western Indian Oceanic region has reported the highest percentage abundance of MPs in ocean waters(10.48%).These MPs were assumed to derive from fiber or fishing line material,regional fishery activities and the sewage disposal debris of tourist-based coastline anthropogenic activities.The polymer-specific sources that release this potential pollutant were not yet accurately discovered.This review article elaborates on the topic by reviewing the MPs’pervasiveness,identifying different passageways and sources of discharging MPs to the Indian Ocean and finally the ecological and socio economic risks of the matter.Thus,it may highlight the knowledge gaps which more research studies should be focused on.展开更多
Research has found that the“non-contact”cognitive dissonance is an increasingly common phenomenon among college students during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown of a university in China.For this,a qualitative approach...Research has found that the“non-contact”cognitive dissonance is an increasingly common phenomenon among college students during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown of a university in China.For this,a qualitative approach based on psychological literature,and the“Quality Gap Model”in marketing are adopted,and a“non-contact”cognitive dissonance model of college students has been constructed.According to the model,cognitive dissonance is caused by the gap between college students’individual behavior and the expectation for the“non-contact”policy,the gap between college students’expectation with the university and the reality,and the gap between the expectation for the policy provider and the perceived reality.The research further explains the psychological mechanism of this behavior.It is proposed that the impact bias“catalyzes”the“escalation”of the“non-contact”cognitive dissonance behavior among college students.To solve this problem,the gap should be filled considering the following three aspects:counter attitudinal advocacy,establishment of cognitive overlap,and cognitive transformation.The unique contribution of the present study is presentation of a new perspective on“non-contact”cognitive dissonance based on public behavior management and to provide a case of controlling and prevention from the pandemic COVID-19 in China.展开更多

To expand the study on the structures and biological activities of the anthracyclines anticancer drugs and reduce their toxic side effects,the new anthraquinone derivatives,9‑pyridylanthrahydrazone(9‑PAH)and 9,10‑bisp...To expand the study on the structures and biological activities of the anthracyclines anticancer drugs and reduce their toxic side effects,the new anthraquinone derivatives,9‑pyridylanthrahydrazone(9‑PAH)and 9,10‑bispyridylanthrahydrazone(9,10‑PAH)were designed and synthesized.Utilizing 9‑PAH and 9,10‑PAH as promising anticancer ligands,their respective copper complexes,namely[Cu(L1)Cl_(2)]Cl(1)and{[Cu_(4)(μ_(2)‑Cl)_(3)Cl_(4)(9,10‑PAH)_(2)(DMSO)_(2)]Cl_(2)}_(n)(2),were subsequently synthesized,where the new ligand L1 is formed by coupling two 9‑PAH ligands in the coordination reaction.The chemical and crystal structures of 1 and 2 were elucidated by IR,MS,elemental analysis,and single‑crystal X‑ray diffraction.Complex 1 forms a mononuclear structure.L1 coordinates with Cu through its three N atoms,together with two Cl atoms,to form a five‑coordinated square pyramidal geometry.Complex 2 constitutes a polymeric structure,wherein each structural unit centrosymmetrically encompasses two five‑coordinated binuclear copper complexes(Cu1,Cu2)of 9,10‑PAH,with similar square pyramidal geometry.A chlorine atom(Cl_(2)),located at the symmetry center,bridges Cu1 and Cu1A to connect the two binuclear copper structures.Meanwhile,the two five‑coordinated Cu2 atoms symmetrically bridge the adjacent structural units via one coordinated Cl atom,respectively,thus forming a 1D chain‑like polymeric structure.In vitro anticancer activity assessments revealed that 1 and 2 showed significant cytotoxicity even higher than cisplatin.Specifically,the IC_(50)values of 2 against HeLa‑229 and SK‑OV‑3 cancer cell lines were determined to be(5.92±0.32)μmol·L^(-1)and(6.48±0.39)μmol·L^(-1),respectively.2 could also block the proliferation of HeLa‑229 cells in S phase and significantly induce cell apoptosis.In addition,fluorescence quenching competition experiments suggested that 2 might interact with DNA by an intercalative binding mode,offering insights into its underlying anticancer mechanism.CCDC:2388918,1;2388919,2.展开更多

文摘Microplastics(MPs)are man-made litter receiving current conversation of interest as a silent pollutant to Earth.Its impact is high on the coastal waters,sediment and organisms of the marine environment.It is a pertinent requirement to investigate the microplastic MP contamination in the marine environment of the Asian region aiming at the world’s 3rd largest ocean,the Indian Ocean.Among the different samples,Indian Ocean water and deep-sea sediment samples have mostly been investigated covering the Southwestern Sumatran region(Eastern Indian Ocean)which is a well-known domestic and industrial shipping route.Majority of the tested samples were in the form of granules,fibers and fragments of 100-500μm and 38-6,330μm in size range respectively in deep-sea sediment samples and in ocean water samples.Further,the prominent MPs types were PVC(polyvinyl chloride),PP(polypropylene)synthetic micro debris,Poly methyl methacrylate PMMA plastic micro debris,PTFE(polytetrafluoroethylene),and nylon.Floating plastic debris has also been found on surface ocean waters in the Eastern Indian Oceanic region as an emergent floating litter.Its size range and the percentage abundance were documented as 0.5-5 mm and 50%respectively.Moreover,the Western Indian Oceanic region has reported the highest percentage abundance of MPs in ocean waters(10.48%).These MPs were assumed to derive from fiber or fishing line material,regional fishery activities and the sewage disposal debris of tourist-based coastline anthropogenic activities.The polymer-specific sources that release this potential pollutant were not yet accurately discovered.This review article elaborates on the topic by reviewing the MPs’pervasiveness,identifying different passageways and sources of discharging MPs to the Indian Ocean and finally the ecological and socio economic risks of the matter.Thus,it may highlight the knowledge gaps which more research studies should be focused on.
文摘Research has found that the“non-contact”cognitive dissonance is an increasingly common phenomenon among college students during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown of a university in China.For this,a qualitative approach based on psychological literature,and the“Quality Gap Model”in marketing are adopted,and a“non-contact”cognitive dissonance model of college students has been constructed.According to the model,cognitive dissonance is caused by the gap between college students’individual behavior and the expectation for the“non-contact”policy,the gap between college students’expectation with the university and the reality,and the gap between the expectation for the policy provider and the perceived reality.The research further explains the psychological mechanism of this behavior.It is proposed that the impact bias“catalyzes”the“escalation”of the“non-contact”cognitive dissonance behavior among college students.To solve this problem,the gap should be filled considering the following three aspects:counter attitudinal advocacy,establishment of cognitive overlap,and cognitive transformation.The unique contribution of the present study is presentation of a new perspective on“non-contact”cognitive dissonance based on public behavior management and to provide a case of controlling and prevention from the pandemic COVID-19 in China.

文摘Chip surface character recognition is an important part of quality inspection in the field of microelectronics manufacturing.By recognizing the character information on the chip,automated production,quality control,and data collection and analysis can be achieved.This article studies a chip surface character recognition method based on the OpenCV vision library.Firstly,the obtained chip images are preprocessed.Secondly,the template matching method is used to locate the chip position.In addition,the surface characters on the chip are individually segmented,and each character image is extracted separately.Finally,a Support Vector Machine(SVM)is used to classify and recognize characters.The results show that this method can accurately recognize the surface characters of chips and meet the requirements of chip quality inspection.

文摘To expand the study on the structures and biological activities of the anthracyclines anticancer drugs and reduce their toxic side effects,the new anthraquinone derivatives,9‑pyridylanthrahydrazone(9‑PAH)and 9,10‑bispyridylanthrahydrazone(9,10‑PAH)were designed and synthesized.Utilizing 9‑PAH and 9,10‑PAH as promising anticancer ligands,their respective copper complexes,namely[Cu(L1)Cl_(2)]Cl(1)and{[Cu_(4)(μ_(2)‑Cl)_(3)Cl_(4)(9,10‑PAH)_(2)(DMSO)_(2)]Cl_(2)}_(n)(2),were subsequently synthesized,where the new ligand L1 is formed by coupling two 9‑PAH ligands in the coordination reaction.The chemical and crystal structures of 1 and 2 were elucidated by IR,MS,elemental analysis,and single‑crystal X‑ray diffraction.Complex 1 forms a mononuclear structure.L1 coordinates with Cu through its three N atoms,together with two Cl atoms,to form a five‑coordinated square pyramidal geometry.Complex 2 constitutes a polymeric structure,wherein each structural unit centrosymmetrically encompasses two five‑coordinated binuclear copper complexes(Cu1,Cu2)of 9,10‑PAH,with similar square pyramidal geometry.A chlorine atom(Cl_(2)),located at the symmetry center,bridges Cu1 and Cu1A to connect the two binuclear copper structures.Meanwhile,the two five‑coordinated Cu2 atoms symmetrically bridge the adjacent structural units via one coordinated Cl atom,respectively,thus forming a 1D chain‑like polymeric structure.In vitro anticancer activity assessments revealed that 1 and 2 showed significant cytotoxicity even higher than cisplatin.Specifically,the IC_(50)values of 2 against HeLa‑229 and SK‑OV‑3 cancer cell lines were determined to be(5.92±0.32)μmol·L^(-1)and(6.48±0.39)μmol·L^(-1),respectively.2 could also block the proliferation of HeLa‑229 cells in S phase and significantly induce cell apoptosis.In addition,fluorescence quenching competition experiments suggested that 2 might interact with DNA by an intercalative binding mode,offering insights into its underlying anticancer mechanism.CCDC:2388918,1;2388919,2.
文摘This study focuses on the deepening paths of ideological and political construction of professional courses in higher vocational colleges,taking the layout design course of the digital media technology major as the research object,and explores the integration mechanism of excellent traditional Chinese culture and professional teaching.The curriculum’s ideological and political reform is advanced through three major measures:Reconstructing the role of teachers,innovating teaching methods,and building a cultural infiltration system.Combined with the three-dimensional assessment mechanism of“professional+culture+value”and the transformation of teaching achievements into competitions,it breaks through the limitations of traditional skill training and systematically solves the problems of formalization tendency and insufficient value guidance existing in the practice of curriculum ideology and politics.It responds to the era proposition of“promoting the creative transformation of excellent traditional Chinese culture,”and provides an operable solution for higher vocational colleges to break the predicament of“emphasizing skills while neglecting culture.”
