Effects of frother type and collector dosage on flotation performance were tested at pH 10. The results were evaluated statistically by two-way analysis of variance without replicates, sample range and sample standard deviation. Hydrophilic mineral was recovered mainly by entrainment through hydrophobization of Ca+2-activated quartz from tap-water in the presence of Na-oleate as collector; entrapment and slime coating were also proposed as recovery mechanisms in minority. Degree of gangue-entrainment in froth product increases by reduction in liberation size. The experimental results state that selectivity would be improved by increasing collector concentration and reducing the flotation time.展开更多

Many differential models of sciences and engineers for which the existing methodologies do not give reliable results, these methods are solving them competitively. In this work, a matrix methods is presented for approximate solution of the second-order singularly-perturbed delay differential equations. The main characteristic of this technique is that it reduces these problems to those of solving a system of algebraic equations, thus greatly simplifying the problem. The error analysis and convergence for the proposed method is introduced. Finally some experiments and their numerical solutions are given.展开更多

The x-ray powder diffraction results show that all compounds preserve the monoclinic phase as the majority phase and all the synthesized compounds were observed to be ferromagnetic from magnetization measurements. Magnetic phase transitions were interpreted in terms of Landau theory. Maximum isothermal magnetic entropy change value (20.84 J-kg-1 -K-1) was found for Tb5Ge1.95Si1.95Mn0.1 at around 123 K in the magnetic field change of 5T.展开更多

We used three methods to investigate the per capita disposable income elasticity of consumption. These are Ordinary Least Squares, Two Stage Ordinary Least Squares with instrument variable and Non-Linear Least Squares with instrument variable for to estimate the specifications. The results indicate that nearly 90% of the consumers in Turkey use the rule of thumb of current disposable income to determine the current consumption. The estimates for the Ghali and Renaud (1971) specifications are consistent by the Rao (2005) concerning the income elasticity of consumption parameter.展开更多

BACKGROUND:The appropriate sequence of different imagings and indications of thoracic computed tomography(TCT)in evaluating chest trauma have not yet been clarified at present.The current study was undertaken to deter...BACKGROUND:The appropriate sequence of different imagings and indications of thoracic computed tomography(TCT)in evaluating chest trauma have not yet been clarified at present.The current study was undertaken to determine the value of chest X-ray(CXR)in detecting chest injuries in patients with blunt trauma.METHODS:A total of 447 patients with blunt thoracic trauma who had been admitted to the emergency department(ED)in the period of 2009–2013 were retrospectively reviewed.The patients met inclusion criteria(age>8 years,blunt injury to the chest,hemodynamically stable,and neurologically intact)and underwent both TCT and upright CXR in the ED.Radiological imagings were re-interpreted after they were collected from the hospital database by two skilled radiologists.RESULTS:Of the 447 patients,309(69.1%)were male.The mean age of the 447 patients was 39.5±19.2(range 9 and 87 years).158(35.3%)patients were injured in motor vehicle accidents(MVA).CXR showed the highest sensitivity in detecting clavicle fractures[95%CI 78.3(63.6–89)]but the lowest in pneuomediastinum[95%CI 11.8(1.5–36.4)].The specificity of CXR was close to 100%in detecting a wide array of entities.CONCLUSION:CXR remains to be the first choice in hemodynamically unstable patients with blunt chest trauma.Moreover,stable patients with normal CXR are candidates who should undergo TCT if significant injury has not been ruled out.展开更多

K562 cell line was...This study investigated contents of trace elements selenium, zinc and iron both in control K562 cells, human leukemia cell line, and cells treated with hemin or the iron chelator deferoxamine cells. K562 cell line was grown in RPMI medium supplemented with 10% fetal calf serum, 100 IU/mL penicillin, 100 μg/mL streptomycin, 25 μg/mL amphotericin B and 2 mM L-glutamine at 37?C in humidified air containing 5% CO2. K562 cells were treated with hemin and deferoxamine from the first day to the fifth day. The trace element levels were measured by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry. Treatment of K562 cells with hemin resulted in an increase in the levels of selenium on fifth day compared with first day. No differences were observed in selenium levels of the control group compared with the hemin-induced group. Also there were no significant differences observed in the zinc levels of control cells compared with deferoxamine- and hemin-induced cells. Iron levels of hemin-induced cells were decreased on the fourth day com-pared with the third day. On the third day, iron levels of hemin-induced cells were significantly increased compared to the control group. Our observations suggest that alterations of selenium and zinc levels may play a role in hemin-induction and deferoxamine-inhibition, respectively. On the other hand, iron levels may influence both in hemin-induction and deferoxamine-inhibition of K562 human leukemia cell展开更多
Six different arylhydrazone derivatives of p-aminobenzoic hydrazide of vic-dioximes were synthesized by reaction of chloroglyoxime and dichloroglyoxime with N'-p-aminobenzoyl benzaldehyde, 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde and 4...Six different arylhydrazone derivatives of p-aminobenzoic hydrazide of vic-dioximes were synthesized by reaction of chloroglyoxime and dichloroglyoxime with N'-p-aminobenzoyl benzaldehyde, 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde and 4-methoxybenzaldehyde hydrazones, respectively. Metal-ligand (1 : 2) complexes of vic-dioxime derivatives with Cu(Ⅱ), Ni(Ⅱ) and Co(Ⅱ) were prepared from corresponding metal acetates. The ligands and their complexes were characterized on the basis of elemental analyses and spectral data. The complexing abilities of these new vic-dioximes toward transition metals of Co(Ⅱ), Cu(Ⅱ), Ni(Ⅱ), Zn(Ⅱ), Cd(Ⅱ), Mn(Ⅱ) and Cr(Ⅲ) were determined by solid-liquid extraction studies.展开更多
