Tilted metasurface nanostructures,with excellent physical properties and enormous application potential,pose an urgent need for manufacturing methods.Here,electric-field-driven generative-nanoimprinting technique is p...Tilted metasurface nanostructures,with excellent physical properties and enormous application potential,pose an urgent need for manufacturing methods.Here,electric-field-driven generative-nanoimprinting technique is proposed.The electric field applied between the template and the substrate drives the contact,tilting,filling,and holding processes.By accurately controlling the introduced included angle between the flexible template and the substrate,tilted nanostructures with a controllable angle are imprinted onto the substrate,although they are vertical on the template.By flexibly adjusting the electric field intensity and the included angle,large-area uniform-tilted,gradient-tilted,and high-angle-tilted nanostructures are fabricated.In contrast to traditional replication,the morphology of the nanoimprinting structure is extended to customized control.This work provides a cost-effective,efficient,and versatile technology for the fabrication of various large-area tilted metasurface structures.As an illustration,a tilted nanograting with a high coupling efficiency is fabricated and integrated into augmented reality displays,demonstrating superior imaging quality.展开更多
Proteus syndrome is an extremely rare congenital disorder that produces multifocal overgrowth of tissue. This report presents a surgical case of a large lipoma in the abdominal wall of a patient with Proteus syndrome....Proteus syndrome is an extremely rare congenital disorder that produces multifocal overgrowth of tissue. This report presents a surgical case of a large lipoma in the abdominal wall of a patient with Proteus syndrome. She was diagnosed with Proteus syndrome based on certain diagnostic criteria. The neoplasm increased in size gradually, producing hemihypertrophy of her left lower extremity and trunk, and spread to her retroperitoneum and her left abdominal wall. She experienced gradually progressive constipation, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Computed tomography (CT) of the abdomen demonstrated a large mass in the subcutaneous adipose tissue of the left lower abdominal wall which measured 12 cm×8 cm×6 cm in diameter and encased the left colon. This mass in the abdominal wall was excised. The weight of the excised mass was 1550 g. The histopathological diagnosis of this mass was lipoma. After surgery, the encasement of the left colon was improved, and the patient was able to move her bowels twice per day. The excision of the large lipoma in the abdominal wall contributed to the improved bowel passage in this patient with Proteus syndrome.展开更多
Background:Recurrent acute cholecystitis(RAC)can occur after non-surgical treatment for acute cholecystitis(AC),and can be more severe in comparison to the first episode of AC.Low skeletal muscle mass or adiposity hav...Background:Recurrent acute cholecystitis(RAC)can occur after non-surgical treatment for acute cholecystitis(AC),and can be more severe in comparison to the first episode of AC.Low skeletal muscle mass or adiposity have various effects in several diseases.We aimed to clarify the relationship between RAC and body parameters.Methods:Patients with AC who were treated at our hospital between January 2011 and March 2022 were enrolled.The psoas muscle mass and adipose tissue area at the third lumbar level were measured using computed tomography at the first episode of AC.The areas were divided by height to obtain the psoas muscle mass index(PMI)and subcutaneous/visceral adipose tissue index(SATI/VATI).According to median VATI,SATI and PMI values by sex,patients were divided into the high and low PMI groups.We performed propensity score matching to eliminate the baseline differences between the high PMI and low PMI groups and analyzed the cumulative incidence and predictors of RAC.Results:The entire cohort was divided into the high PMI(n=81)and low PMI(n=80)groups.In the propensity score-matched cohort there were 57 patients in each group.In Kaplan-Meier analysis,the low PMI group and the high VATI group had a significantly higher cumulative incidence of RAC than their counterparts(log-rank P=0.001 and 0.015,respectively).In a multivariate Cox regression analysis,the hazard ratios of low PMI and low VATI for RAC were 5.250(95%confidence interval 1.083-25.450,P=0.039)and 0.158(95%confidence interval:0.026-0.937,P=0.042),respectively.Conclusions:Low skeletal muscle mass and high visceral adiposity were independent risk factors for RAC.展开更多
In the complex orchard environment,precise picking point localization is crucial for the automation of fruit picking robots.However,existing methods are prone to positioning errors when dealing with complex scenarios ...In the complex orchard environment,precise picking point localization is crucial for the automation of fruit picking robots.However,existing methods are prone to positioning errors when dealing with complex scenarios such as short peduncles,partial occlusion,or complete misidentification,which can affect the actual work efficiency of the fruit picking robot.This study proposes an enhanced picking point localization method based on semantic reasoning for complex picking scenarios in vineyard.It innovatively designs three modules:the semantic reasoning module(SRM),the ROI threshold adjustment strategy(RTAS),and the picking point location optimization module(PPOM).The SRM is applied to handle the scenarios of grape peduncles being obstructed by obstacles,partial misidentification of peduncles,and complete misidentification of peduncles.The RTAS addresses the issue of low and short peduncles during the picking process.Finally,the PPOM optimizes the final position of the picking point,allowing the robotic arm to perform the picking operation with greater flexibility.Experimental results show that SegFormer achieves an mIoU(mean Intersection over Union)of 84.54%,with B_IoU and P_IoU reaching 73.90%and 75.63%,respectively.Additionally,the success rate of the improved fruit picking point localization algorithm reached 94.96%,surpassing the baseline algorithm by 8.12%.The algorithm's average processing time is 0.5428±0.0063 s,meeting the practical requirements for real-time picking.展开更多
The performance of separate bias Kalman filter(SepKF)in correcting the model bias for the improvement of soil moisture profiles is evaluated by assimilating the near-surface soil moisture observations into a land surf...The performance of separate bias Kalman filter(SepKF)in correcting the model bias for the improvement of soil moisture profiles is evaluated by assimilating the near-surface soil moisture observations into a land surface model(LSM).First,an observing system simulation experiment(OSSE)is carried out,where the true soil moisture is known,two types of model bias(i.e.,constant and sinusoidal)are specified,and the bias error covariance matrix is assumed to be proportional to the model forecast error covariance matrix with a ratioλ.Second,a real assimilation experiment is carried out with measurements at a site over Northwest China.In the OSSE,the soil moisture estimation with the SepKF is improved compared with ensemble Kalman filter(EnKF)without the bias filter,because SepKF can properly correct the model bias,especially in the situation with a large model bias.However,the performance of SepKF becomes slightly worse if the constant model bias increases or temporal variability of the sinusoidal model bias becomes large.It is suggested that the ratioλshould be increased(decreased)in order to improve the soil moisture estimation if temporal variability of the sinusoidal model bias becomes high(low).Finally,the assimilation experiment with real observations also shows that SepKF can further improve the estimation of soil moisture profiles compared with EnKF without the bias correction.展开更多
In biology,redox reactions are essential and sometimes harmful,and therefore,iron metabolism is tightly regulated by cuproproteins.Since the state of copper in iron overload syndromes remains unclear,we investigated w...In biology,redox reactions are essential and sometimes harmful,and therefore,iron metabolism is tightly regulated by cuproproteins.Since the state of copper in iron overload syndromes remains unclear,we investigated whether copper metabolism is altered in these syndromes.Eleven patients with iron overload syndromes participated in this study.The clinical diagnoses were aceruloplasminemia (n=2),hemochromatosis (n=5),ferroportin disease (n=2),and receiving excess intravenous iron supplementation (n=2).Liver specimens were analyzed using a light microscope and transmission electron microscope equipped with an X-ray analyzer.In addition to a large amount of iron associated with oxygen and phosphorus,the iron-rich hemosiderins of hepatocytes and Kupffer cells contained small amounts of copper and sulfur,regardless of disease etiology.Two-dimensional imaging clearly showed that cuproproteins were distributed homogenously with iron complexes within hemosiderins.Copper stasis was unlikely in noncirrhotic patients.The enhanced induction of cuproproteins by excess iron may contribute to copper accumulation in hemosiderins.In conclusion,we have demonstrated that copper accumulates in hemosiderins in iron overload conditions,perhaps due to alterations in copper metabolism.展开更多
