At high temperatures, dynamic recovery,...The effects of temperature and strain rate on the flow stress behavior of twin-roll cast, rolled and heat-treated AZ31 magnesium alloys were investigated under uniaxial tension. At high temperatures, dynamic recovery, continuous dynamic recrystallization, grain boundary sliding and the activation of additional slip systems lead to an improvement of the ductility of the alloys. The elongation to failure is nearly independent of the strain rate between 473 and 523 K at 10-2 s-1 and 10-1 s-1, which is related to the strain rate dependence of the critical resolved shear stress(CRSS) for nonbasal slip. Despite the high temperature, twins are even observed at 573 K and 10-3 s-1 because they have a low CRSS.展开更多
The effects of ozonation on the formation potential of typical disinfection byproducts (DBPs) and the changes of genotoxicity during post chlorination of tertiary effluent from a sewage treatment plant were investig...The effects of ozonation on the formation potential of typical disinfection byproducts (DBPs) and the changes of genotoxicity during post chlorination of tertiary effluent from a sewage treatment plant were investigated. Ozonation enhanced the yields of all detected chlorine DBPs except CHCI3. At a chlorine dose of 5 mg/L, the three brominated THMs and five HAAs increased, while chloroform decreased with the increase of ozone dose from 0 to 10 mg/L (ozone dose in consumption base). At a chlorine dose of 10 mg/L, the two mixed bromochloro species THMs and two dominant HAAs (DCAA and TCAA) increased firstly and then decreased with the increase of ozone dose, with the turning point approximately occurring at an ozone dose of 5 mg/L. The genotoxicity detected using umu test, on the other hand, was removed from 7 Ixg 4-NQO/L to a negligible level by ozonation under an ozone dose of 5 mg/L. Chlorination could further remove the genotoxicity to some extent. It was found that SUVA (UV absorbance divided by DOC concentration) might be used as an indicative parameter for monitoring the removal of genotoxicity during the oxidation.展开更多
Remote tracking the variation of air quality in an effective way will be highly helpful to decrease the health risk of human short-and long-term exposures to air pollution.However,high power consumption and poor sensi...Remote tracking the variation of air quality in an effective way will be highly helpful to decrease the health risk of human short-and long-term exposures to air pollution.However,high power consumption and poor sensing performance remain the concerned issues,thereby limiting the scale-up in deploying air quality tracking networks.Herein,we report a standalone-like smart device that can remotely track the variation of air pollutants in a power-saving way.Brevity,the created smart device demonstrated satisfactory selectivity(against six kinds of representative exhaust gases or air pollutants),desirable response magnitude(164–100 ppm),and acceptable response/recovery rate(52.0/50.5 s),as well as linear response relationship to NO2.After aging for 2 weeks,the created device exhibited relatively stable sensing performance more than 3 months.Moreover,a photoluminescence-enhanced light fidelity(Li-Fi)telecommunication technique is proposed and the Li-Fi communication distance is significantly extended.Conclusively,our reported standalone-like smart device would sever as a powerful sensing platform to construct high-performance and low-power consumption air quality wireless sensor networks and to prevent air pollutant-induced diseases via a more effective and low-cost approach.展开更多
A novel Fe/Co metal organic complex nanosheet modified by 1,4-dicarboxybenzene(BDC),i.e.,FeCo@BDC,was prepared,and highly efficient removal performance for trace lead(Ⅱ)(Pb^(2+))was demonstrated in the neutral aqueou...A novel Fe/Co metal organic complex nanosheet modified by 1,4-dicarboxybenzene(BDC),i.e.,FeCo@BDC,was prepared,and highly efficient removal performance for trace lead(Ⅱ)(Pb^(2+))was demonstrated in the neutral aqueous solutions.The removal rates were higher than 95%and the adsorption was equilibrated in 15 min.The isotherms and kinetics for the adsorption Pb^(2+)by the FeCo@BDC adsorbents followed Langmuir model and pseudo-second-order model,respectively.The maximum adsorption capacity was 220.48 mg g^(-1).The FeCo@BDC adsorbents also own a prominent regeneration performance.The prominent performance of in the removal of trace Pb^(2+)makes FeCo@BDC an ideal candidate as commercial adsorbent materials.展开更多
In this work, the morphology, thermal and viscoelastic properties, deformation and fracture behaviour of a commercial vinylester resin modified with a biodegradable polymer was investigated. Flexural, impact and fract...In this work, the morphology, thermal and viscoelastic properties, deformation and fracture behaviour of a commercial vinylester resin modified with a biodegradable polymer was investigated. Flexural, impact and fracture tests were per-formed on the blends with different polycaprolactone (PCL) contents. They exhibited improved stiffness and fracture properties in comparison to the neat resin. From SEM analysis of fracture surfaces, stress whitening and branced frac-ture paths toughening mechanisms were identified. The dependence of the glass transition temperature with PCL con-tent was adequately fitted by simple models available in the literature. From the results of these models along with the results of calorimetric studies and SEM analysis, it can be concluded that the interaction between vinylester and PCL is strong enough to avoid phase separation.展开更多
