METHODS: Eighty male Wistar rats weighing approximately 200 g each were used. The rat models of experimental hepatic fibrosis were established by injection with carbon tetrachloride (CCh), normal rats and rats were injected with olive oil and served as control groups. In situ hybridization(ISH) was used to detect the Smad2 and Smad4 mRNA in liver. RESULTS: In situ hybridization showed Smad2 and Smad4 mRNA expressions in the cytoplasm of hepatic stellate cells (HSC), fibroblasts and myofibroblasts around the central vein and hepatic sinus during and after fibrogenesis. Expression of Smad2, 4 mRNA was higher than that in normal and control rats. CONCLUSION: In the process of and after hepatic fibrosis formation, HSC, fibroblasts and myofibroblasts are the major cells that express Smad2 and Smad4. The more serious the hepatic fibrosis is in the injured liver, the higher the level of Smad2 and Smad4 gene expression is during and after fibrogenesis respectively.展开更多
Objective:To systematic evaluation by the dorsalis pedis artery puncture for bed patients blood gas analysis of application effect of impact.Methods:A randomized controlled trial of the effect of arterial blood extrac...Objective:To systematic evaluation by the dorsalis pedis artery puncture for bed patients blood gas analysis of application effect of impact.Methods:A randomized controlled trial of the effect of arterial blood extraction on blood gas analysis in PubMed,CNKI,Wanfang database and VIP database.After selecting the literature,extracting the data and evaluating the quality of the literature.Meta- analysis was carried out by RevMan 5.3 software.Results:Twelve randomized controlled trials were included and 1696 patients were enrolled.After meta-analysis,the arterial puncture can effectively improve the success of arterial puncture in patients with bed [Z = 5.78,95%CI(1.90,3.66),P<0.001],reduce the occurrence of hematoma [Z = 4.27,95%CI(0.19,0.54),P<0.001],reduce the mistaken into the vein [Z = 4.60,95%CI(0.08,0.36),P<0.001],reduce cyanosis [Z = 2.84,95%CI(0.23,0.81),P<0.008],the difference was statistically significant.Conclusion:Dorsalis pedis artery puncture can improve the success rate of blood gas analysis in bedridden patients,reduce the incidence of hematoma and the incidence of venous leakage,and can be widely used in clinical practice.展开更多

In fact surface alloying offers the possibility to strengthen surface components with alloys that would not be possible to process otherwise. This work used Plasma transferred arc (PTA) hardfacing for surface alloying. Different amounts of aluminium powder, 5-25%, were added to a Ni based superalloy, from Hastealloy C family, in the atomized form. The mixture was homogeneized in a ball mill and PTA deposited on carbon steel substrate. The influence of different processing parameters on the final surface alloy was evaluated as current intensity and depositing velocity were varied. Coatings were characterized by optical and scanning electronic microscopy, X-ray diffraction and Vickers microhardness profiles, under a 500g load. Results showed that PTA hardfacing is an adequate surface alloying. For the conditions tested increasing hardness was obtained by solid solution for the lower amounts of Al added and due to the new intermetallic phases for the richer Al mixture.展开更多

The purpose of this stu...Reoccurring symptoms and persistent problems that continue post treatment can be characteristic of the vaginal infections Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) and recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis (RVVC). The purpose of this study was to describe women’s life experiences in managing the symptoms of bacterial vaginosis and Candida. Sixteen women were recruited and participated in an interview study when they contacted a Swedish gynecology clinic with vaginal complaints that ranged from and included abnormal discharge, irritation itching along with serious malodor. An interpretive phenomenological approach was used with an individual interview to get a more intimate understanding of the women experiencing these problems. The finding of this study shows that managing the recurrent symptoms of the infections remains to be a challenge for women as it has a clearly negative impact on the quality of their lives. Four themes developed: frustration and mood disorders, intimacy changes in the relationship, exposure, hope and relief. The women had high hopes of eliminating the symptoms within the six-month study period. The treatment program, with its well-developed guidelines and continuity of care within the context of the study greatly improved the quality of life of these women. Women had feelings of frustration and anxiety when nothing could cure their problem while they had also a great hope to get rid of the symptoms with a long striking treatment. Well-developed guidelines and continuity of care can help these women to have an improved quality of life.展开更多
Objective:To analysis the development trend and research focus of empowerment theory applied to Nursing in China.Methods:Literatures related to the objective were searched and collected from CNKI,WangFang,VIP and CBM,...Objective:To analysis the development trend and research focus of empowerment theory applied to Nursing in China.Methods:Literatures related to the objective were searched and collected from CNKI,WangFang,VIP and CBM,then Excel 2003 was used to setup the database and co-word matrix,SPSS 21.0 was utilized to make the visualized analysis by way of multivariate statistics analysis,cluster analysis and multidimensional scaling analysis.Results:Literatures with the number of 486 were selected out and 18 high frequency keywords were retrieved from 140 journals.Among the literatures,the first one was published in 2002,then a tremendous rising started since 2009,and reached the peak in 2017,mainly from the southern part of China,such as the province of Jiangsu,Guangdong,and Zhejiang.Regarding the content of the literatures,the research of intervention accounted for 61.32%,then the research of description came to the second at the ratio of 24.49%.What’s more,378(77.78%)were cited,154(31.69%)were funded.Conclusion:Nowadays,empowerment applied in the therapy of chronic disease is the focus and trend of the research of empowerment theory,and the psychological empowerment to nursing staff,as well as the constructed empowerment is going mature.In the future,more attention should be paid to the study and practice of empowerment theory,in order to vary the direction of research and enrich the theory.展开更多
The emergency room is the entrance door of hospitals for patients who are in risk of life, and the role of the physiotherapist in this area is recognized as a qualified member of the team, helping to reduce the rate a...The emergency room is the entrance door of hospitals for patients who are in risk of life, and the role of the physiotherapist in this area is recognized as a qualified member of the team, helping to reduce the rate and time of orotracheal intubation, judicious use of invasive mechanical ventilation (MV) and non-invasive ventilation (NIV). The objective was to know the profile and performance of physical therapists in the emergency departments of hospitals in the state of S<span style="white-space:nowrap;">ã</span>o Paulo. Conducted through a semi-structured questionnaire covering personal and professional aspects, and analyzed and described in percentage form. Thirty-six questionnaires were analyzed, and it was observed that 92% provide emergency care, but only 25% work exclusively. Among the main reasons for admission to this sector are: acute respiratory failure (44%) and decreased level of consciousness (36.1%). Regarding the physiotherapeutic resources used in the emergency department, 97.2% make use of NIV, followed by monitoring of MV parameters (94.4%) and modification of parameters (94.4%). We also found that the average time of MV in this sector is 3 to 21 days (50%), and that 33% believe there is delay between indication and installation of NIV. The physiotherapist has much to contribute in emergency units, however, he must be trained through the search for technical and scientific knowledge, thus contributing to the consolidation of this area of expertise.展开更多
Dermatitis is a combination of various skin disease agents such as bacteria,fungi,ectoparasites,viruses and metabolic diseases with various clinical symptoms or signs.Dermatitis can cause an imbalance between ROS and ...Dermatitis is a combination of various skin disease agents such as bacteria,fungi,ectoparasites,viruses and metabolic diseases with various clinical symptoms or signs.Dermatitis can cause an imbalance between ROS and antioxidants.Exogenous antioxidants are needed to help balance antioxidant and ROS levels in the body by providing trigona honey.This study aims to determine the MDA and SOD levels of dogs with complex dermatitis after administration of trigona honey.This study used 12 dogs with complex dermatitis,with a moderate severity score.Dogs 4-6 months old.Samples were divided into control group(P0)without honey,fresh honey group(P1)5 mL/head/day and capsule honey group(P2)0.1 mg/head/day.Honey was given for 4 weeks in the treatment group.Examination of MDA and SOD levels was carried out using the ELISA kit.The results showed that the Trigona honey treatment had a significant effect(P<0.05)in reducing MDA levels and increasing SOD levels in dogs with complex dermatitis.Duncan's test results showed that SOD levels increased significantly at week 4,while week 2 and week 0 did not increase significantly.Trigona honey has anti-inflammatory,antibacterial,antiaging,antiulcer effects,helps in wound healing dermatitis and is an antioxidant.So that trigona honey can reduce plasma MDA levels and increase plasma SOD levels in dogs with complex dermatitis.展开更多
One-third of the Maldives’economic output is generated by tourism.However,Maldivian tourism efforts are unevenly distributed impacting the socioeconomic developments in the north and south regions.This case study eva...One-third of the Maldives’economic output is generated by tourism.However,Maldivian tourism efforts are unevenly distributed impacting the socioeconomic developments in the north and south regions.This case study evaluates air transport barriers as one factor contributing to the sluggish tourism development in these regions and investigates how an air service subsidy scheme could be a potential solution to those barriers.Using 38 semi-structured questionnaires,perceptions on these two areas were collected from a selected group of senior-level management personnel in the Maldivian tourism and air transport industry in 2021.Barriers identified included factors such as geography,operations,market,air transfer cost,air transport policy,and infrastructure.The majority of participants supported an air service subsidy scheme as a possible solution to stimulate tourism activities in the north and south of the Maldives.Opportunities,challenges and implementation of an air subsidy scheme are discussed.Findings shed light not only on possible solutions for the Maldives but also on other island locations and contribute to the pool of knowledge of air connectivity economics.展开更多

This paper investigat...Friedman's plucking model of business fluctuations suggests that output cannot exceed an upper limit, but it is occasionally "plucked" downward below trends as a result of economic recessions. This paper investigates China's business fluetuations using quarterly real GDP data for the period 1978 2009. Our results show some evidence supporting Friedman's plucking model. We find that a ceiling effect of real output exists, and that negative asymmetric shocks significantly affect the transitory component, which captures the plucking downward behavior during the recession. The results also suggest that the basic asymmetric unobserved component model is not appropriate for directly modeling China's real output because the business" cycle is inaccurately measured, but it works quite well when considering a structural break in the second quarter of 1992. The results reveal that although China's economy strengthened in the second quarter of 2009, it is essential for China's government to take further positive and effective measures to maintain sustainable development of the economy.展开更多

However, the results of empirical studies that have sought to document these spillovers have been mixed. One explanation for this variation is that the capacity of domestic firms to absorb spillovers might vary. In the present paper, we explore these issues in the case of China. ,4side from being one of the world's leading hosts offoreign direct investment, China makes for an interesting case study because its provinces vary greatly with respect to those factors most commonly held to influence absorptive capacity, such as the initial level of technology in domestic firms. This paper begins by empirically establishing that the spillovers from foreign direct investment do indeed vary across provinces. Threshold values for varioas factors that influence absorptive capacity factors are then estimated and it is found that conditions in many provinces presently fall short of these values. This provides an obvious focus of attention for China's policy-makers.展开更多

The results reveal that although China's economy strengthened in the second quarter of 2009, it is essential for China's government to take further positive and effective measures to maintain sustainable development of the economy.
文摘Economic theory posits numerous channels through which FDI might create positive spillovers for domestic firms. However, the results of empirical studies that have sought to document these spillovers have been mixed. One explanation for this variation is that the capacity of domestic firms to absorb spillovers might vary. In the present paper, we explore these issues in the case of China. ,4side from being one of the world's leading hosts offoreign direct investment, China makes for an interesting case study because its provinces vary greatly with respect to those factors most commonly held to influence absorptive capacity, such as the initial level of technology in domestic firms. This paper begins by empirically establishing that the spillovers from foreign direct investment do indeed vary across provinces. Threshold values for varioas factors that influence absorptive capacity factors are then estimated and it is found that conditions in many provinces presently fall short of these values. This provides an obvious focus of attention for China's policy-makers.
文摘This article explains the design,construction and energy strategies of LINQ,a net-zero energy building that was successfully entered into the Solar Decathlon Middle East 2018 held in Dubai.Students of engineering,building physics,architecture and urban planning designed,built and operated LINQ.It is mainly powered by solar energy and made of bio-materials.Some of LINQ’s innovations are the ventilated façade with customizable bio-based tiles,the indirect evaporative water cooling system,and the light building integrated photovoltaic-thermal system.LINQ sent more energy to the grid than it drew throughout the competition.However,energy production could have been improved according to simulations and technical specifications.LINQ is a good example of current and future building expectations-combining multiple criteria,strategies,and solutions-to contribute to environmental,social and economic sustainability.
