The logistics nodes and logistics enterprises are the core carriers and organiza- tional subjects of the logistics space, and their location characteristics and differentiation strategies are of key importance to opti...The logistics nodes and logistics enterprises are the core carriers and organiza- tional subjects of the logistics space, and their location characteristics and differentiation strategies are of key importance to optimizing urban logistics spatial patterns and ensuring reasonable resource allocation. Based on Tencent Online Maps Platform from December 2014, 4396 logistics points of interest (POI) were collected in Beijing, China. By the methods of industrial concentration evaluation and kernel density analysis, the spatial distribution pattern of logistics in Beijing are explored, the interaction mechanism among the type differ- ence, supply-demand side factors and location choice behavior are clarified, and the internal mechanism of spatial differentiation under the combined influence of transportation, land rent and assets are revealed. The following conclusions are drawn in the paper. (1) Logistics en- terprises and logistics nodes exhibit the characteristic of both co-agglomeration and spatial separation in location, and logistics activities display the spatial pattern of "marginal area of downtown area, suburbs and exurban area", which have a weak coupling degree with logis- tics employment space. (2) The public logistics space, namely, logistics parks and logistics centers, is produced under the guidance of the government, and the terminal logistics space consisting of logistics distribution centers serving for the specific industries and terminal users is dominated by enterprises. The Iocational differentiation between the two modes of logistics space is significant. (3) In the formation of the logistics spatial location, the government can change the traffic condition by re-planning the transport routes and freight station locations, and control the land rent and availability of different areas by increasing or decreasing the land use of logistics, to impact the enterprise behavior and form different types of logistics space and function differentiation. In comparison, logistics enterprises meet the diverse de- mands of service objects through differentiation of asset allocation to promote the specializa- tion of division and form the object differentiation of logistics space.展开更多

It is inte</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">nded to contribute to theoretical research on diversification in the emerging logistics industry based on resource-based view (RBV) and factor production theory. We innovatively establish the logistics business classification system, then measure the degree and direction of diversification of lo</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">gistics enterprises based on mean narrow-spectrum diversification-based</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> product count methods. The empirically shows that there are a growing number of highly-diversified logistics enterprises in general, with an average annual increase of 14.23%. Especially after 2008, small and medium-sized enterprises developed towards r</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">elated diversification while micro-sized enterprises came to the opposite conclusion. For them, creating unrelated diversified business is a crucial way to generate a competitive advantage. Unlike the conclusions derived from other industries, small-sized logistics enterprises are prone to try a new business, both related and unrelated, for better survival and performance. The logistics clusters are the result of concentration, scale and specialization of logistics activities, and their quantitative measurement and development evaluation provide an important foundation for improving the...The logistics clusters are the result of concentration, scale and specialization of logistics activities, and their quantitative measurement and development evaluation provide an important foundation for improving the land use efficiency and achieving economies of scale. Taking 289 cities at prefecture-level and above as research objects, this paper collected macro-statistical data of transport, postal and warehousing industry during 2000–2014, business registration data of more than 290 thousand logistics enterprises, and 170 thousand logistics points of interest(POI). With the integration of multi-index and multi-source data, the evolution process and spatial pattern of logistics clusters in China were explored with the methods of Location Quotient(LQ), Horizontal Cluster Location Quotient(HCLQ), Logistics Employment Density(LED) and modified Logistics Establishments' Participation(LEP). The development levels, types and modes of different logistics clusters were quantified. Several important findings are derived from the study.(1) The logistics clusters are mainly located on the east side of the Hu Huanyong Line, and the accumulative pattern evolves from group to block structure, featuring wide coverage and high concentration. The evolution of logistics clusters has two stages of rapid convergence and stable change, resulting in gradual increase in the development level and efficiency of logistics clusters and in emergence of spillover effect.(2) 21 mature logistics clusters are distributed in the core and sub-cities of the main metropolitan areas of 16 provincial-level administrative divisions, conforming to the government logistics and transport planning. 43 emerging logistics clusters are distributed in 21 provincial administrative divisions, and different types of cities have huge disparities which highlight the differentiation of the market behaviors and government planning among them.(3) The logistics clusters present differentiated development modes with the change of scales. In urban agglomerations scale, the nested "center-periphery" structures with "main nucleus-secondary cores-general nodes" are clarified. The polar nuclear development, networked and balanced development, single core and multipoint, multi-core multipoint hub-spoke development patterns are formed in different provincial administrative divisions.展开更多

In the smart logistics industry,unmanned forklifts that intelligently identify logistics pallets can improve work efficiency in warehousing and transportation and are better than traditional manual forklifts driven by...In the smart logistics industry,unmanned forklifts that intelligently identify logistics pallets can improve work efficiency in warehousing and transportation and are better than traditional manual forklifts driven by humans.Therefore,they play a critical role in smart warehousing,and semantics segmentation is an effective method to realize the intelligent identification of logistics pallets.However,most current recognition algorithms are ineffective due to the diverse types of pallets,their complex shapes,frequent blockades in production environments,and changing lighting conditions.This paper proposes a novel multi-feature fusion-guided multiscale bidirectional attention(MFMBA)neural network for logistics pallet segmentation.To better predict the foreground category(the pallet)and the background category(the cargo)of a pallet image,our approach extracts three types of features(grayscale,texture,and Hue,Saturation,Value features)and fuses them.The multiscale architecture deals with the problem that the size and shape of the pallet may appear different in the image in the actual,complex environment,which usually makes feature extraction difficult.Our study proposes a multiscale architecture that can extract additional semantic features.Also,since a traditional attention mechanism only assigns attention rights from a single direction,we designed a bidirectional attention mechanism that assigns cross-attention weights to each feature from two directions,horizontally and vertically,significantly improving segmentation.Finally,comparative experimental results show that the precision of the proposed algorithm is 0.53%–8.77%better than that of other methods we compared.展开更多
The complex landforms of a Shan-shui City(Shan-shui refers to mountains and rivers)significantly impact the selection of locations for logistics enterprises.This paper takes Chongqing,one of the most typical Shan-shui...The complex landforms of a Shan-shui City(Shan-shui refers to mountains and rivers)significantly impact the selection of locations for logistics enterprises.This paper takes Chongqing,one of the most typical Shan-shui Cities in China,as the research object,and adopts spatial analysis methods and a mediating effect model,to explore the role of mountains and rivers in the formation of logistics enterprises’spatial pattern on the street scale.The study results reveal that 90% of the logistics enterprises in the central urban areas of Chongqing are located in the low-altitude area below 353m above sea level,and distributed in a north-south direction along the mountains,as a result of blockage by mountain ranges,such as those of Zhongliang Mountain and Tongluo Mountain.More than 70% of the logistics enterprises are located less than 5 km from either the Yangtze River or Jialing River,spreading along the rivers.In addition,more than half of the logistics enterprises in commercial and financial,and residential land are located within the urban core area,while 80.83% of the logistics enterprises located in warehousing land and industrial land are concentrated in the urban expansion area.In areas with high land prices,the negative effect of altitude on logistics enterprise agglomeration is weakened,while the promotion effect of river proximity on logistics enterprise agglomeration is enhanced.In the urban core area with the advantage of low altitude and proximity to the Jialing and Yangtze Rivers,the role of mountains and rivers on logistics enterprises is not apparent;in contrast,in the urban expansion area with more complex landforms,land price can be an effective means for the government to macro-manage the spatial pattern of logistics enterprises in a Shan-shui City.展开更多

Consequently, an examination is made as far as port sector is concerned, with an ever more demanding enhancement in operational efficiency. Moreover, a past research on West and Central Africa Ports, as well as an overview on port logistics was made, making it possible to determine what has been done (prospects) and what is still to be done (ineffectiveness), in prospective of a more reformed and efficient port. One of the principles of this paper is also to confer all the aspects that operate as obstacles to the WCA port’s improvement and development;using thus the evaluation model called EWCA (Evaluation of West and Central Africa Ports), which gives a descriptive analysis of the present situation of the latter’s port logistics, including the aid of multiple regression model to determine an impact of explanatory variables on the study probability. Applying the method of strategic development, this paper thus deals with exploring typical problems and quandaries of West and Central Africa ports. The findings suggested how to fight back or overcome the constrictions and strangulations;enabling West and Central Africa port logistics attain their desired strategic development aims, despite the ineffectiveness. In particular, it studies the interaction effect between LSPs’ size and entry timing and location. The empirical results show that: 1) Regarding the survival time, 1365 of the 6791 sample LSPs exited from the market by 2017. The exit rate is 20.1%, and the average life of the 6791 LSPs is about 6 years. 2) The survival of LSPs depends on their typology, ownership structure. And there is no significant difference in the probability of survival for both independent LSPs and logistics branches after controlling the effects of other variables. 3) Location and entry timing also play an important role in the survival of small-scale LSPs, but these factors cannot explain large-scale LSPs’ failure.展开更多

And changes in the firm size of medium and large-sized enterprises have little impact on the development of the business diversification.
文摘Urban road pricing schemes are becoming increasingly popular among researchers and politicians as they promise a handle on increasing inner city traffic and economy as well as sustainable improvements for cities facing huge congestion and pollution problems. As in the cases of London and Stockholm, many European cities are going to implement such toll systems, especially as also the European Commission is voting for such pricing schemes in the recent white book on transportation and traffic, This research therefore provides a description of different urban road pricing schemes, their cost implications for city (last mile) transport as well as the decision and management options derived from these schemes for logistics companies. These options are furthermore checked regarding their advantages and disadvantages under the described toll schemes.
文摘Through the process analysis of cold chain logistics of agricultural products,we find that cold chain logistics of agricultural products contradict the development model of low-carbon economy to some extent.We apply the development idea of low-carbon economy,introduce the thirdparty logistics companies,establish distribution center of cold chain logistics of agricultural products,and strengthen information sharing,to reengineer the process of cold chain logistics of agricultural products in China.The results show that applying low-carbon economy to process reengineering of cold chain logistics of agricultural products,has advantages of increasing added value of products,promoting scale merit and abating lag,plays a role in promoting emission reduction,high efficiency and environmental protection in the process of cold chain logistics of agricultural products in China.

文摘The logistics clusters are the result of concentration, scale and specialization of logistics activities, and their quantitative measurement and development evaluation provide an important foundation for improving the land use efficiency and achieving economies of scale. Taking 289 cities at prefecture-level and above as research objects, this paper collected macro-statistical data of transport, postal and warehousing industry during 2000–2014, business registration data of more than 290 thousand logistics enterprises, and 170 thousand logistics points of interest(POI). With the integration of multi-index and multi-source data, the evolution process and spatial pattern of logistics clusters in China were explored with the methods of Location Quotient(LQ), Horizontal Cluster Location Quotient(HCLQ), Logistics Employment Density(LED) and modified Logistics Establishments' Participation(LEP). The development levels, types and modes of different logistics clusters were quantified. Several important findings are derived from the study.(1) The logistics clusters are mainly located on the east side of the Hu Huanyong Line, and the accumulative pattern evolves from group to block structure, featuring wide coverage and high concentration. The evolution of logistics clusters has two stages of rapid convergence and stable change, resulting in gradual increase in the development level and efficiency of logistics clusters and in emergence of spillover effect.(2) 21 mature logistics clusters are distributed in the core and sub-cities of the main metropolitan areas of 16 provincial-level administrative divisions, conforming to the government logistics and transport planning. 43 emerging logistics clusters are distributed in 21 provincial administrative divisions, and different types of cities have huge disparities which highlight the differentiation of the market behaviors and government planning among them.(3) The logistics clusters present differentiated development modes with the change of scales. In urban agglomerations scale, the nested "center-periphery" structures with "main nucleus-secondary cores-general nodes" are clarified. The polar nuclear development, networked and balanced development, single core and multipoint, multi-core multipoint hub-spoke development patterns are formed in different provincial administrative divisions.
文摘The development of logistics finance business for agricultural products is the best way to realize the common interests of logistics enterprises,small and medium-sized agricultural product enterprises and financial institutions,which will contribute to the development of China's new socialist rural economy and the construction of " two-oriented society". As the agricultural products have some special attributes,it's easy to create the risk in carrying out the logistics finance business. The paper constructs a risk evaluation indicator system for logistics finance of agricultural product,and uses the Fuzzy-AHP model to evaluate. The results show that the comprehensive risk level is normal risk,which shows that third-party logistics enterprises can carry out the logistics financial business of agricultural products,but the risks from logistics enterprises and agricultural collateral need to be prevented.

文摘In the smart logistics industry,unmanned forklifts that intelligently identify logistics pallets can improve work efficiency in warehousing and transportation and are better than traditional manual forklifts driven by humans.Therefore,they play a critical role in smart warehousing,and semantics segmentation is an effective method to realize the intelligent identification of logistics pallets.However,most current recognition algorithms are ineffective due to the diverse types of pallets,their complex shapes,frequent blockades in production environments,and changing lighting conditions.This paper proposes a novel multi-feature fusion-guided multiscale bidirectional attention(MFMBA)neural network for logistics pallet segmentation.To better predict the foreground category(the pallet)and the background category(the cargo)of a pallet image,our approach extracts three types of features(grayscale,texture,and Hue,Saturation,Value features)and fuses them.The multiscale architecture deals with the problem that the size and shape of the pallet may appear different in the image in the actual,complex environment,which usually makes feature extraction difficult.Our study proposes a multiscale architecture that can extract additional semantic features.Also,since a traditional attention mechanism only assigns attention rights from a single direction,we designed a bidirectional attention mechanism that assigns cross-attention weights to each feature from two directions,horizontally and vertically,significantly improving segmentation.Finally,comparative experimental results show that the precision of the proposed algorithm is 0.53%–8.77%better than that of other methods we compared.

文摘The complex landforms of a Shan-shui City(Shan-shui refers to mountains and rivers)significantly impact the selection of locations for logistics enterprises.This paper takes Chongqing,one of the most typical Shan-shui Cities in China,as the research object,and adopts spatial analysis methods and a mediating effect model,to explore the role of mountains and rivers in the formation of logistics enterprises’spatial pattern on the street scale.The study results reveal that 90% of the logistics enterprises in the central urban areas of Chongqing are located in the low-altitude area below 353m above sea level,and distributed in a north-south direction along the mountains,as a result of blockage by mountain ranges,such as those of Zhongliang Mountain and Tongluo Mountain.More than 70% of the logistics enterprises are located less than 5 km from either the Yangtze River or Jialing River,spreading along the rivers.In addition,more than half of the logistics enterprises in commercial and financial,and residential land are located within the urban core area,while 80.83% of the logistics enterprises located in warehousing land and industrial land are concentrated in the urban expansion area.In areas with high land prices,the negative effect of altitude on logistics enterprise agglomeration is weakened,while the promotion effect of river proximity on logistics enterprise agglomeration is enhanced.In the urban core area with the advantage of low altitude and proximity to the Jialing and Yangtze Rivers,the role of mountains and rivers on logistics enterprises is not apparent;in contrast,in the urban expansion area with more complex landforms,land price can be an effective means for the government to macro-manage the spatial pattern of logistics enterprises in a Shan-shui City.
文摘The main idea of this study is to provide help to West and Central Africa port logistics authorities in making, evaluating and realizing their decisions on port development/management, all in an effort to guaranty port efficiency and operational brilliance to profit the different ports, their hinterlands and their related clients. Consequently, an examination is made as far as port sector is concerned, with an ever more demanding enhancement in operational efficiency. Moreover, a past research on West and Central Africa Ports, as well as an overview on port logistics was made, making it possible to determine what has been done (prospects) and what is still to be done (ineffectiveness), in prospective of a more reformed and efficient port. One of the principles of this paper is also to confer all the aspects that operate as obstacles to the WCA port’s improvement and development;using thus the evaluation model called EWCA (Evaluation of West and Central Africa Ports), which gives a descriptive analysis of the present situation of the latter’s port logistics, including the aid of multiple regression model to determine an impact of explanatory variables on the study probability. Applying the method of strategic development, this paper thus deals with exploring typical problems and quandaries of West and Central Africa ports. The findings suggested how to fight back or overcome the constrictions and strangulations;enabling West and Central Africa port logistics attain their desired strategic development aims, despite the ineffectiveness. Tremendous efforts were made, giving a vital shoot on African economy and development;even though there is still a lot to do, for the data and variables showed how the port logistics augment and descend frequently without a long period of stability.

文摘A hybrid intelligent approach is proposed to help the decision maker to select the appropriate third-party reverse logistics provider. The following process is included: firstly,the evaluation team is established to determine the selection criteria and evaluate them by triangular fuzzy numbers; secondly,calculate the weight of criteria by the proposed hybrid algorithm integrating particle swarm optimization( PSO) and simulated annealing( SA); then, the performance evaluation for each supplier is predicted by the proposed self-feedback neural network( SFBNN) based on the historical data. A numerical example is also presented to interpret the methodology above.

文摘This paper worked on a sample of 6791 logistics establishments registered in Chengdu, China over the period 1984-2016 to understand the survival status of </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">logistics service providers (LSPs) by non-parametric Kaplan-Meier estimation, together with Cox proportional hazard regression model, to identify factors affecting the failure of LSPs. In particular, it studies the interaction effect between LSPs’ size and entry timing and location. The empirical results show that: 1) Regarding the survival time, 1365 of the 6791 sample LSPs exited from the market by 2017. The exit rate is 20.1%, and the average life of the 6791 LSPs is about 6 years. 2) The survival of LSPs depends on their typology, ownership structure. And there is no significant difference in the probability of survival for both independent LSPs and logistics branches after controlling the effects of other variables. 3) Location and entry timing also play an important role in the survival of small-scale LSPs, but these factors cannot explain large-scale LSPs’ failure.

文摘In this article, the authors give an overview of different logistics concepts for operation and maintenance of OWPP (offshore wind power plants). These can be generally classified into onshore based and offshore based concepts. The operation of OWPPs can still be improved as research has shown that the availability of OWPPs is low compared to onshore wind power plants. There are a few tools to calculate operating costs and to evaluate the different concepts. However, most tools have a weak focus on logistics although logistics account for a big share of the costs.
