[Objectives]The soil permeability and its influencing factors in typical plantations were studied to provide a scientific basis for tending and managing plantations in the Haikou forest area of Kunming City.[Methods]With three kinds of typical forest stands,i.e.,over-mature Pinus armandii Franch.,mid-mature Eucalyptus robusta Smith, and over-mature E.robusta Smith in this region as the research objects, soil infiltration changes and the effects on soil water retention in different stands, soil layers, and gap conditions under different moisture conditions were analyzed.[Results]①Under all three moisture conditions, the over-mature P.armandii forest demonstrated higher overall infiltration rates than the other two forest stands, which showed relatively similar infiltration rates. In all three stands, the soil infiltration rate decreased as the depth of the soil increased.Significant fluctuations in soil infiltration rate were observed during the initial 0-5 min, followed by gradual stabilization or regular fluctuations after 5 min.The infiltration process generally reached saturation after approximately 20 min.②The average infiltration rate was identified as the key factor affecting soil infiltration.Comprehensive evaluation of soil permeability revealed that the over-mature P.armandii forest exhibited optimal soil permeability.③Various soil physical and chemical properties significantly affected different indexes of soil permeability under varying conditions, with soil organic carbon content and water repellency demonstrating particularly notable effects on infiltration under different conditions.[Conclusions]Soil infiltration rates gradually decreased with the deepening of the soil layer.Principal component analysis(PCA)showed that the soil permeability of the over-mature P.armandii forest was stronger than that of the other two stands under the three moisture conditions, especially in non-gap positions. All soil indexes affected soil permeability, and soil organic carbon and water repellency were the key factors affecting soil permeability. 展开更多

By analyzing the climate records of Kunming from 1957 to 2016, Kunming’s average temperature has been found to be increasing in recent 65 years. The key problem lies in the temperature rise in recent 10 or more years by 0.4 ℃/10a and the annual range decrease at the same time, represented as the elevation of the lowest temperature and increasingly warmer winter in Kunming. With the warming climate, the precipitation has suffered a prominent fall, by 18.05 mm/a in the past 14 years. The relative humidity is in direct proportion to the precipitation, which explains less water and drier climate in Kunming. With “One increase and two decreases” of the three key climate indexes changes in Kunming in the past 65 years, this paper analyzed the necessity and general situation of the sponge city construction in the city, proposed the overall planning of sponge city construction at the macro level, selected the sponge technology based on the urban construction land types, and planned the regulation facilities based on the catchment area and green space structure. Moreover, the paper explored the sponge city planning at the meso level and the sponge city eco-engineering technology at the micro level. 展开更多

[Objective] The aim was to study air temperature changes and urbanization contribution ration in Kunming City in recent 50 years. [ Method] The observation data of air temperature series from Kunming station and other four surrounding meteorological stations were used to in- vestigate air temperature variation in Kunming station affected by urbanization during 1960 -2009. [ Result] The trend slope of mean annual temper- ature was 0.402 ~(3/10 a in Kunming station and 0. 103 ~C/10 a in other four surrounding meteorological stations, and the increasing magnitude of air temperature in Kunming station was more than 3 times that of average global warming in the past 50 year. The effect of urbanization on mean an- nual temperature in Kunming station started from 1990. During 1990 -1994, the increasing contribution rate of urbanization to air temperature in Kunming station was less than 40%. From 1995 to 2009, the contribution ratio was more than 50%, up to about 60% in all seasons. Urban heat is- land effect in Kunming station was intensified with the development of urbanization. In addition, the warming rate caused by urban heat island effect in Kunming station was the greatest in dry season, followed by mean annual temperature, and it was the weakest in rainy season. [ Conclusion] The study provided theoretical foundation for future research. 展开更多

Chlamydia psittaci is an important zoonotic pathogen in birds and may be transmitted to humans and result in severe respiratory disease. To assess the prevalence and genotype of C. psittaci in birds in Kunming, Yunnan, China, a total of 136 specimens of psittacine birds involving 8 species were collected from the city's zoos (n=60) and pet markets (n=76). The frequency of C. psittaci infection was 19.9% (27/136) in the psittacine birds. The prevalence of C. psittaci was higher in pet birds (26.3%; 20/76) than in zoo birds (11.7%; 7/60) (P=0.034). In particular, among Agapornis fischeri, the C. psittaci infection (50%; 10/20) was significantly more frequent in the pet markets than in the zoos (P=-0.006). In addition, the highest prevalence of 41.2% (7/17) was found in Ara ararauna. To determine the genotype of C. psittaci, 23 OmpA gene fragments (about 1.4 kb) in 27 positive samples were successfully amplified and sequenced. Phylogenetic analysis showed that all the 23 strains belonged to genotype A. Our results demonstrate the high prevalence of C. psittaci genotype A infection in psittacine birds in Yunnan Province, suggesting a potential threat to human health in this area. Therefore, it is necessary to take effective measures to prevent the spread of C. psittaci among psittacine birds, as well as among employees and customers. 展开更多

Chimonanthus praecox is an important ornamental plant and cut flower material in China. It blooms in the freezing winter and its flower emits charming fragrance. However,in different region the flowering time is variable. In order to understand the flowering mechanism of Ch.praecox in the winter,we studied the flower bud differentiation in Spring City-Kunming using paraffin sectioning method in the present study.Meanwhile we compared the differentiation process difference from different regions. It was found that the temperature is the key factor for its flower bud differentiation and blossom of Ch.praecox.In the process of bud differentiation, the temperature 20℃was the optimum for inducing changes from vegetative axillary buds to reproductive buds and subsequent morphological differentiation in Ch.praecox.Furthermore in the first three differentiation periods—tepal primordial stage, staminal primordial stage and pistil primordial stage,Kunming took the shortest time to finish the process due to very rapid temperature rise to 20℃,whereas,in Zhengzhou the time for these differentiations was the longest, which may be caused by the slow temperature rise. After May,the high temperature stress forced the flower buds into the first long dormant period in all regions except Kunming. In Kunming, the average temperature was only 20–25℃,so the flower bud continued to differentiate. In all regions,Kunming is the first to complete whole flower bud differentiation even on the early August, and started the second dormancy very early but very long.In the other regions, the plants went through a shorter dormancy and the low temperature broke the dormancy rapidly.Contrarily the plants of Kunming spent a longer period for the low temperature. Thus, the low temperature less than 10℃is a key factor to breaking the second dormancy.Surely the regular effects of temperature on flower bud differentiation and blossom is very helpful for florescence regulation of Ch.praecox. 展开更多
