The characterization of the p-milling Al2O3 powders and the synthesized AlN are investigated. Compared to conventional ball milling (c-milling), it can be found that the precursors by p-milling have a finer grain size with a higher specific surface area, which lead to a faster reaction efficiency and higher conversion to A1N at lower temperatures. The activation energy of p-milling Al2O3 is found to be 371.5 kJ/mol, a value that is much less than the reported value of the unmilled and the conventional milled Al2O3. Meanwhile, the synthesized AlN powders have unique features, such as an irregular lamp-like morphology with uniform particle distribution and fine average particle size. The results are attributed to the unique synergistic effect of p-milling, which is the effect of deformation, fracture, and cold welding of Al2O3 powders resulting from ball milling, that will be enhanced due to the introduction of discharge plasma.展开更多

The average tensile strength of the as-welded joints reached 766 MPa and failure occurred in 40Cr steel base metal. However, after PWHT at 600℃ for 0.5, 1, 2 and 3 h, the tensile strength of the joints decreased and fracture happened through the interface with quasi-cleavage features. The bending angle of specimens was improved from 9.6° in as-welded state to 32.5° after PWHT for 2 h. The tensile strength of the joint was enhanced by martensitic transformation near the interface in as-welded state. Sorbite formed near the interface in PWHT state and improved the bending ductility of the joint. TiC brittle phase formed at the interface after PWHT for 0.5 h and deteriorated the tensile strength and bending ductility of the joint. After PWHT for 2 h, no TiC phase was detected at the interface. The microhardness on the interface in as-welded state was higher than that after PWHT, indicating that the decrease of microhardness around the interface could be accompanied by degradation of tensile strength but improvement of bending ductility of the joints.展开更多

Instead of the absorption of the electromagnetic wave propagating only once in previous work on the plasma layer, a general formula of total power absorption by the plasma layer with an infinite time of reflections between the atmosphere-plasma interface and the metal surface has been derived for the first time. Effects of plasma parameters, especially the dependence of the fraction of positive ions, negative ions and electrons in plasmas on the power absorption processes are discussed. The results show that the existence of negative ions significantly reduces the power absorption of the electromagnetic wave. Absorptions of electromagnetic waves are calculated.展开更多

The energy transfers between the plasma and the magnetic field are considered during the penetration of the magnetic field as the Ohmic heating is included in the energy-balance equation. The focus is on the energy partition between the magnetic-field energy and the dissipated magnetic-field energy in a high-density POS with different rise-in-time electric currents at the generator boundary. The simulation code is tested in two cases: the constant-in-time current case and the linear rise-in-time current case. For the sinusoidally rise-in-time current similar to that of the experiments, it is shown that at the end of the conduction phase the dissipated magnetic-field energy is 36.5% of the input electromagnetic energy, which is consistent with the experimental results.展开更多

The vacuum region on the right of POS is included in the model and the influence of downstream flow on the conduction characteristics is discussed. It is found that with the penetration of magnetic field, the pure hydrogen plasma is pushed downstream significantly; and POS still conducts current after the magnetic field arrives at the load edge of POS, which is different from the previous experimental results in a multispecies POS. It is because that the noticeable downstream plasma in the pure hydrogen POS may continue to conduct the current, while in the multispecies POS, the downstream plasma is unimportant so that the conduction phase ends soon after the magnetic field reaches the load edge. The scaling relation obtained from the simulations including the downstream region is consistent with the experimental results.展开更多

The dust charging model is self-consistently coupled with the sheath formation criterion by the dust surface potential and the ion Mach number, moreover the dust density variation is taken into account. The numerical results reveal that the dust number density and negative ion number density as well as its temperature can significantly affect the dust surface potential at the sheath edge.展开更多

The numerical calculation with the harmonics m = 0 included the m = 0 harmonics on the mode is negligible in the linear stage. As the mode begins to grow nonlinearly, both the current and flow profiles are pinched due to the m = 0 harmonics. To make a comparison we also carry out the calculation with m = 0 harmonics turned off. The profiles of the total current, poloidal magnetic field, and poloidal shear velocity in the cases with or without the m = 0 harmonics are compared and discussed. In addition, the formation of a poloidal velocity shear is found and its mechanism is investigated.展开更多

In addition, an equivalent-circuit model is coupled to the fluid equations in order to self-consistently determine re-lationship between the instantaneous potential at the rf-biased electrode and the sheath thickness. Two-dimensional profiles of the potential, the ion fluid velocity, and the distributions of the ion and electron densities within the sheath are computed under various discharge conditions, such as the discharge powers and the gas pressures. The results show that the existence of the cylindrical hole on the electrode significantly affects the sheath structure and generates a potential trap in the horizontal direction, which is particularly strong when the sheath thickness is comparable to the depth of the hole. Moreover, it is found that the collisional effects have a significant influence on the sheath characteristics.展开更多

The excited V-SBDs consist of surface barrier discharge (d = 0 mm) and volume added surface barrier discharges (d = 2 mm and 3 mm). The optical emission spectra are recorded for calculating emission intensities of N2 (C3 ∏u → B3∏g) and N2+ (B2 ∑u+ → X2 ∑g+), and simulating rotational and vibrational temperatures. The influences of gap distance of V-SBD on emission intensity and plasma temperature are also investigated and analyzed. The results show that d = 0 mm structure can excite the largest emission intensity of N2 (C3 ∏u → B3 ∏g), while the existence of volume barrier discharge can delay the occurrence of the peak value of the emission intensity ratio of N2 + (B2 ∑u+ → X2 ∑+g)/N2 (C3 ∏u → B3 ∏g) during the rising period of the applied voltage pulse and weaken it during the end period. The increasing factor of emission intensity is effected by the pulse repetition rate. The d = 3 mm structure has the highest threshold voltage while it can maintain more emission intensity of N2 (C3 ∏u→ B3∏g) than that of d = 2 mm structure. The structure of d = 2 mm can maintain more increasing factor than that of the d = 3 mm structure with varying pulse repetition rate. Besides, the rotational temperatures of three V-SBD structures are slightly affected when the gap distance and pulse repetition rate vary. The vibrational temperatures have decaying tendencies of all three structures with the increasing pulse repetition rate.展开更多

文摘In this paper, high resolution temporal-spatial diagnostics are employed to research the optical characteristics of nanosecond pulsed dielectric barrier discharge in needle-plate electrode configuration.Temporal-spatial distributions of discharge images, the emission intensities of optical emission spectra, and plasma vibrational and rotational temperatures are investigated.By analyzing the evolution of vibrational and rotational temperatures in space and time dimensions, the energy distribution and energy transfer process in plasma are also discussed. It is found that a diffuse structure with high density plasma concentrated in the region near the needle tip can be presented in nanosecond pulsed discharge, and an obvious energy transfer from electronic energy to vibration energy can be observed in each discharge pulse.

文摘The two-dimensional energy balance in a coaxial plasma opening switch (POS) is studied based on the single-fluid magnetohydrodynarnic (MHD) equations coupled with the generalized Ohm's law. For the sinusoidally rise-in-time current similar to that of the experiments, it is shown that at the end of the conduction phase the dissipated magnetic-field energy is 36.5% of the input electromagnetic energy, which is consistent with the experimental results.

文摘Plasma behaviour and the scaling relations in a coaxial plasma opening switch (POS) using hydrogen plasma are studied self-consistently based on the two-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations in conjunction with the generalized Ohm's law. The scaling relation obtained from the simulations including the downstream region is consistent with the experimental results.

文摘Atmospheric gas-liquid discharge with argon as a working gas is presented by employed nanosecond pulse power. The discharge is presented in a glow-like mode. The discharge powers are determined to be less than 1 W, and remains almost constant when the discharge duration time increases. Bountiful active species are determined by capturing optical emission spectra, and their main generation processes are also discussed. The plasma gas temperature is calculated as 350 K by comparing the experimental spectra and the simulated ones of N2(C3Ⅱg→B3Ⅱg, △v=-2). The time resolved vibrational and rotational temperature is researched to present the stability of discharge when pulse voltage and discharge duration vary. The electron density is determined to be 1016 cm-3 according to the Stark broadening effect of the Ha line.

文摘In this paper, traditional milling and discharge plasma-assisted milling are employed to synthesize aluminum nitride(AlN) powder at nanometer scale by milling the mixture of aluminum and lithium hydroxide monohydrate.AlN powders can be generated in traditional milling and plasma-assisted milling in an hour milling time.Differential thermal analysis curves show that the reaction temperature of the powders treated by plasma-assisted milling is lower than that of traditional milling. These results indicate that plasma-assisted milling has higher efficiency in the synthesis of AlN,getting smaller crystallite size and activating powder. Moreover,an optical emission spectrum is employed to demonstrate the active species in plasma. The different formation process of AlN in the two-milling process, and the promotion effects of plasma in the milling process are discussed.

文摘The emission spectra of excited radicals(OH(A^2E),O(3p^3 P),Hα(3P)) and emissive species(N2^+(B^2∑u^+),N2(C3Πu)) produced by positive pulsed high-voltage needle-plane corona discharges in atmospheric N2 and O2 flows wetted with 10%H2O at 80 ℃ are used to investigate the relative concentrations of the produced radicals. The results indicate that the tendencies of the concentrations of radicals with discharge conditions are similar to each other due to their similar excitation processes by electron collision. The influence of oxygen flow mixed with the nitrogen flow on the emission intensities of O(3p^5P → 3s^5S2^0.),Hα(3P → 2S),N2+(B^2∑u^+ → X^2∑g+0-0),and N2(C^3Πu → B^3Πg 1-0) is presented. When the flow rate of oxygen addition is varied from 0-30 ml min^-1,the emission intensities of O(3p^5P → 3s^5S2^0.),Hα(3P → 2s),and N2^+(B^2∑u^+ →X^2∑g 0-0) increase and reach a maximum. Then,if the oxygen flow rate increases further, the emission intensities tend to decrease. However, the intensity of N2(C^3Πu → B^3Πg1-0) decreases monotonously with the increasing oxygen flow, which indicates that the electron density decreases with the increasing oxygen flow.By the tendencies of the relative intensities to N2(C^3Πu → B^3Πg 1-0),the concentrations of the total produced O,H,and N2^+ are shown to increase with the oxygen flow.Based on the reactions for the production of H and O without and with the addition of O2,the analytic solutions for H and O production are derived in accordance with the experimental results.
文摘In this paper we investigate the dust surface potential at the sheath edge of electronegative dusty plasmas theoretically, using the standard fluid model for the sheath and treating electrons and negative ions as Boltzmann particles but positive ions and dust grains as cold fluids. The dust charging model is self-consistently coupled with the sheath formation criterion by the dust surface potential and the ion Mach number, moreover the dust density variation is taken into account. The numerical results reveal that the dust number density and negative ion number density as well as its temperature can significantly affect the dust surface potential at the sheath edge.

文摘Effects of tearing modes are inves shows that the effect of the m = 0 harmonics on the early quasi-linear stage of m = 1 double tigated. In addition, the formation of a poloidal velocity shear is found and its mechanism is investigated.

文摘The characteristics of collisional radio-frequency (rf) sheath dynamics over an elec-trode with a cylindrical hole is simulated by means of a self-consistent model which consists of two-dimensional time-dependent fluid equations coupled with Poisson equation. Moreover, it is found that the collisional effects have a significant influence on the sheath characteristics.

文摘In this paper, volume barrier discharge with different gap distances is added on the discharge border of high-voltage electrode of annular surface barrier discharge for generating volume added surface barrier discharge (V-SBD) excited by bipolar nanosecond high-voltage pulse power in atmospheric air. The vibrational temperatures have decaying tendencies of all three structures with the increasing pulse repetition rate.
